  1. If you can find the components, you can make your own monitor->scart cable though, or you can order one from Aly
  2. I didn't do anything yet, I just found some switches that just about bit in the old PSU switch's place and put them there. Actually the push-button on/off switch doesn't fit exactly and tends to fall back, so I intend to attach it in place with some silicon. As for the big hole where the power cord used to be I intend to take a piece of plastic (maybe transparent) and cut a hole to it and attach the picopsu's plug there.
  3. That's almost the same as my set up! Also, I put some switches where the power button used to be so I can turn on/off the machine and switch to ct63 on/off. Also there's a led for disk activity put there just for fun
  4. Regarding to closing the case... hmmm.. maybe something is short-circuiting when you close it, so take care for any loose wires or wires that are exposed or might be touching eachother. You don't _have_ to use a hd floppy if you don't want to. Just take a couple of hd disks and cover the hd hole (i.e. not the write protect one) with some sticky tape (careful when you insert it in the drive!). Then put it in your mste, format the disk and then it will work on your atari and pc as well
  5. :/ just be there next year Well, I cannot say much about the Eiffel, but if I were you I'd try this: locate the joystick's port +5V pin, then take a small piece of wire (or a metal paper clip) and start connecting the +5 with the other pins. I seem to recall that there are discrete pins for up, down, left, right and fire. So this should help verify if the port is actually working. Of course you'll have to have a game running or sth like that (I can make you a small program that reads both joystick ports and reports any actions if you like).
  6. Well, if it's for 80 euros then we must fix it P.S. kai svhse ayto to signature, mhn se pianei to parapono
  7. BTW, if anyone is thinking of attending Outline, then there might be a chance of getting a free (as in "free" mste) (not from me though, and I don't want to give away the identity of the potential owner, so you won't bombard him with pleads ) Chris: so it's totally impossible to use joysticks with your eiffel? Maybe you can get a spare ST keyboard and plug it back? Or maybe plug in your old Falcon keyboard?
  8. Psyxraimia!!! For starters it won't work with 3 modules, as they need to be paired. Also, if you use 2 modules then they must not be in 2 consecutive banks (iirc). With that I mean that you can plug in 1 module at slot 1 and the other at 3, or use the pair 2 and 4, but I think you cannot use 1-2 or 3-4.
  9. Sounds like you need a memory test program then. I'll try to attach some I found lying around. NEWRAM.TOS seems like a decent one. Just boot your machine with one memory module, run this program to test the memory, then stick in the rest of the memory and run it again. Let it run for some time to make sure that the memory is working ok. HTH MEMCHECK.ZIP
  10. Oops, I stand corrected . Shows how much I play Bak's games Well..... something that reminded of the A8's DLI, but it's more difficult to program, because you have to write code that does this each frame at the precise moment. The A8's raster/scrolling/splits were done by hardware. Examples? Watch the Next's STE screen here. Also, the game Utopos has split-screen.
  11. Nope, Gauntlet 2 plays like a dream Also, it's oh-so-good in original hardware without any disk access Yes it is capable. However the techincal skill needed to be obtained before acomplishing this is great, and as Gauntlet I was a relatively early game, it suffered. Besides, the 2 games you mentioned use vertical scrolling, which is MUCH easier to accomplish.
  12. Well, it did exactly that on my ste, so it either doesn't like the ste, or the code is crap In any case, glad that it works for you
  13. Funny I see this thread, because just today I made a t-shirt using one of these pics
  14. Here you go: http://atari4ever.free.fr/hardware/doc/sc1224.zip
  15. I'm sorry, but we do not (yet) host the automation CDs on our website . It should surely be over at www.planetemu.net And, with a standard steem installation (no custom keymaps), the ST 'insert' key is mapped to PC 'insert' Have fun
  16. Sure thing You can find a description of it here. I got the LE-0316. Oh, and I got it from http://www.cartft.com
  17. External 20V brick-type psu. Sounds crap but in practice it's very comfortable
  18. Any old PSU from a PC should do it (not ATX though, not without any modifications at least). Also, in my CT63 falcon I have installed this, which is smaller than what was posted on top of this page, and I have absolutely no problems with it
  19. That's what I would call a 'trollish post'. Given the fact that the first reply of mine actually helps and all..... (God, what a sense of humour)
  20. (this was posted originally here, posts will be gathered there) Ok, I'm ripping this idea off another forum, but hey! Here are the facts: a) We like Alison b) We think she's a great HW developer c) We dealed with her and we can say that she's an absolutely fantastic, good mannered, proffesional, etc. lady and we'll gladly deal with her anytime d) We want a neat CF to ACSI solution! e) We want to motivate her to finish WeST So we're trying to gather as much interest as possible, so she can be motivated to finish it You ask "What's a WeST?". In her own words: and So, if you're serious about getting one, please reply to this post, stating how many interfaces would you be interested to get. I can't get a price quotation at the moment. Maybe in due time. All will depend on demand I guess! So, get replying (P.S. the 256 is just a fictional number I made up! Besides, $100 is a round rumber, right? )
  21. Ok, I'm going to break it down in tiny steps so everyone can follow. a) Load Steem b) Select TOS 1.62uk or 1.02uk (these are the ones I tested) c) Load Automation #73v2 d) Load Gauntlet e) Press 'space' to get to skip the title screen (not before the flashing ends of course) f) use cursor keys to select player and joystick port g) Say aloud 'D-Bug rules' 10 times at least (this is crucial!!) h) Press 'insert' to start the game with selected char (not so important really) i) Play j) Get bored after 10 seconds because Gauntlet 2 is infinetely better Hope this helps
  22. Also, real fun watching someone easyridering the source and fixing it Was that from atari's sources?
