  1. jens, I dunno really, they must be rarer than the rarest thing here, so they should cost a fortune
  2. zeptari1: you can try to compress the executables with upx (even the pc version can compress atari executables) and see if they become smaller than 720k (some do, some don't). So you might not need to zip them. doctorclu: Well, good luck! None of us actually has a TT so we can't say if that would work or not. My gut feeling (after having seen the game's code a bit) is that it should work. While writing this I'm at the Paracon Atari convention (http://paracon.atari.org) and I got my hands on a mste that I'll bring home. So all my fixes will be tested on this machine too (actually it was donated to me by one of the organisers. Anyone cares to donate a TT to me for testing games? )
  3. Update: added 3 more games to the list today
  4. Hi all, Most of you already know that D-BUG is fixing games to work straight from hard drives and adding Falcon and MegaSTE compatibility fixes and speed boost. (http://www.tphf.karoo.net/dbug/falcon.htm) In order not to pollute the forum a lot, I decided to create this thread and use it whenever we release something new. Already done are: Starglider 2 Vaxine Backlash RVF Honda Live and Let Die Hades Nebula Virus R-Type Xenon 2 Speedball 2 Northstar Into the Eagle's Nest Magic Pockets Also, we have already done some on our menus (http://www.tphf.karoo.net/dbug/191p.htm): Dragon Flight (German and English) Saint Dragon Blood Money Arcitc Moves Encounter Indigo You are welcome to download and try any of these. Feedback and bug reports is welcome Cheers and enjoy!
  5. No problem, and don't forget to visit http://dbug.atari.org for Falcon/MSTE HD fixed and CPU boosted games (shameless plug!)
  6. Ooops, I neglected the fact that the atari will boot from hd if it finds one So you need to force your comoputer to boot from floppy instead. It usually is a combination of ctrl, alt and shift. Which hard driver do you use? I know for sure that for HD Driver you need to hold Alt and press A at the correct time to do that. Timing is crucial but you'll get it in the end
  7. Well, I guess they applied the well known method: "Keep hacking it until it works" Anyway, to get to the topic, most flight simulator programs are usually faster on the ST due to the slightly faster CPU frequency. Also, some games like oids never had an amiga port, so they are +inf better But the general idea for ST/AMIGA games is that they were usually handled by the same team (and usually the same programmer) and they mostly cared about the amiga version because (a) They would get more sales (at least jugding from the user base of both platforms), (b) It's easier to code on the amiga due to the extra custom chips. So, that leaves us with inferior st ports, since they were rushed or simply the poor st was unable to cope with the data of its amiga counterpart.
  8. Again I must stress that if a disk works on one floppy drive doesn't prove that it will work on the other. Please do the following: a) Try writing the disk image to another disk and boot that from your mste. b) If (a) still doesn't do anything then let the mste boot from HD and then open the A drive. Does the directory show up? Go to the AUTO folder (if there isn't one then there's trouble!) and execute the menu program. Lastly, tell us what happened George
  9. Also, there's the freeware CDLab, but I haven't tested it. It should be ok with scsi drives though
  10. Hmmm, maybe your drive is faulty? Or the disk? Did you try writing the image to another disk? Is anything happening when you switch on the mste with the disk on? Is the bootsector displayed? Do you hear strange noises from the drive? Hope any of these helps, please report with some more info
  11. Please tell us more about how are you running that. Real Atari? Model? Emulator? Memory? TOS version? I just ran it under STEEM 3.2 with TOS 1.62UK and 4 megs of RAM. When the protection came up I pressed the fire button 4 times, clicked on ok, then pressed the fire button 4 times again and clicked on ok. Then it started loading! HTH, George
  12. That's our plan - have a large folder with games ready to run Funny, I thought sound worked on both my falcons... I'll try to have a look later... Hmmm, I'll try to look at that too... Glad you enjoy them! Eventually we'll get round to those you request!
  13. Well making them run is only a part of the equation. Our aim is to make games run with all possible speed increases and to be hard drive installable. Otherwise it'd be much easier (yes, we do like to make it hard for ourselves )
  14. Thanks for the plug Seriously, we are trying to patch and enhance games for the mste and the falcon, and the results have been very promising. Maybe at some point we'll have a requests section, but bare in mind that a)currently there's only 2 of us!, b)we have lots of stuff in the pipeline!
  15. Is there a TOS clone that offeres pre-emptive multitasking and memory protection? I nos AmigaOS offers the former but not the latter so you can still crash from time to time. You can use three s/w for multitasking: MiNT, MagiC and Geneva. The first is free and open source, the other 2 are commercial (but not supported)
  16. The solution I use is Betados + Spin! You can easily find and download both of these. Spin! has a extensive manual on how to install it. Whatever solution you choose, if all goes well you should be able to see your cdrom by clicking 'install devices' from the desktop. Then the drive will appear automagically!
  17. Hi there, Have a look here http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...c=94661&hl= for some answers But there's only 2 of us working on this project, so it will take some time as you imagine
  18. I would _never_ trade my ataris for any amigas. Period! Recently I bought a a1200 for about 12 UKP and it's gathering dust, while both my falcons get almost daily excercise
  19. Name: ggn Location: Greece 1 Falcon with 14MB + CT63 @90Mhz 1 Falcon with 4MB ...+hundreds of games to patch for them
  20. Well, we'll do our best As always, feedback, positive or negative, is welcome
  21. Hey.. it's Halloween... Well, we had the final 5 menus all tapped out ready to roll us up to 200. Then something special happened. Encounter! A game so good we changed our menu plans to bring it to you. As you've come to expect, its 16mhz accelerated as well as fixed for hard disk installs making it resemble the Atari 8-bit version even more! So hop on over to the download page, and grab possibly the best ST release in over 15 years. We even took the opportunity to boost it for Falcons and MSTEs. http://dbug.atari.org
  22. Hi all, ULS is not dead! D-Bug has started a few months back a big project in which all Automation/D-Bug menus will be converted to being hard disk compatible! Also, as an added bonus we support the Mega STE and the Falcon's higher cpu speeds + caches! So running a game is as simple as copying 2-3 files into your hard drive and double clicking the program icon Now, for games that need writing to disk we are using ULS, for the rest we just add hdd and falcon/mste compatibility. You are all very welcome to visit http://dbug.atari.org and download all the fixed games we've released so far (note: lots more are in the testing stage - we don't want to release faulty versions ) (btw: the games are for the time being on the news section, we are on the process of building a dedicated section for the fixed games!) You are also welcome to give us any comments (positive or negative) or offer us any help
