  1. Last night found SNES console with bunch of wires in a bag for $25. Works, has 3 SNES controllers (one Nintendo brand), 2 AC adapters, and console is the early model with SHVC sound module. The bag also had a few RCA cables, a couple audio cables, and a basic no frill computer microphone with stand.
  2. Illusion of Gaia Secret of Mana Megaman X all on SNES
  3. Same for me. A board with CPLD to handle address and data multiplexing, maybe jumper or DIP switch to set ROM size and type, and sockets for EPROM. I wanted to build one of MTE-201 but the schematic for using discrete logic chips is complicated to build.
  4. 1 post new user, no picture, nothing. Really hard to get a serious offer especially for a very rare system.
  5. Adventure Haunted House Pitfall I was testing the Flashback 2 I got a couple weeks ago.
  6. Is that the modable version to include a PS/2 keyboard, serial port for disk drive, etc? Toss in one of the numerous 1541-on-SD card adapter and it can go from a dozen games to a few thousand games in a blink.
  7. Broken and loose hinge is a very common problem unfortunately, and DS isn't meant to be taken apart. It won't be easy. When you take it apart, you also have to be very careful of the fragile ribbon cable that connects the top LCD to the mainboard. You could try eBay for a dead DS that has good hinge, take that one apart first so you get an idea how to take apart the working one.
  8. Play it for a bit and compare to the regular label release. Like other said, it's probably the same but it doesn't hurt to check it anyway.
  9. LOL well, SMS adapter for Inty 2 would work. I need to dust off my spare SMS console, a dirt common Inty cart, do some voodoo and I can play SMS games through my Inty 2 the same way 2600 adapter works. Heck one could graft XBox360, PS3, and Wii onto Inty 2.
  10. I was browsing at the Salvation army when I saw something that made me do a double take. A small box with MegaDrive logo on it. In USA, one simply does not find MegaDrive (or Famicom Disk System or PC Engine too) in the wild. It had been there long enough to reach the half off color (tan this week, was $1.15 now $0.57) so either no one knew or cared about it. I bought it mainly for the box. There were also several 2600 and 7800 games as well ($5 each, half off this week, all too pricey even at half off) and a white PCE controller front (just the front, nothing else like it was taken apart or broke apart) for $8 before half off. I left them all. I was almost tempted to take the controller front just for it but I already have a working white PCE controller. The pre-auto fire model. Inside the box was a power supply with European style plug and is labeled as 110v-220v, 9v 500mA out. The power supply felt very light so I opened it (2 screws) and it's very tiny inside! I wonder what I missed if there were PCE controller part and many 2600/7800 games after 5 weeks. It's too bad this Salvation Army store is almost 50 miles away (South-west Saginaw near Walmart) and way out of any of my usual route so I rarely visit that one. With gas hitting $4/gal again it is just too expensive to make weekly trek there just for that slim chance of finding good stuff.
  11. Buyer is covered by protection so if it is a reproduction, they just need to file it as counterfeit label. Buyer will get the money back, and depending on if Paypal is generous or not, ask buyer to destroy the fake label and send statement indication it is destroyed.
  12. Goldeneye Majora's Mask Pokemon Blue (very lkittle difference between these 2 but blue is my favorite color so it wins) Tetris GameBoy Sonic the hedgehog SNES (definitely, has far more fun RPG than genesis) Street Fighter Mario Kart 64 Mode 7 (blast processing is just marketing BS, like claiming black color makes system faster than grey color)
  13. Paddle uses the same 2 line that joystick, left and right. However you could probably wire both without a switch without any problem provided user knows the fire button for paddle and fire button for joystick isn't the same. https://atariage.com/2600/archives/schematics/Schematic_2600_Accessories_Low.html shows schematics for joystick and paddle. If you want a switch, you could use a DPDT switch to toggle between paddle buttons and joystick left/right.
  14. http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F251276071279%3F Custom job maybe? Or did Nintendo make VB in silver at one time maybe for in house testing and dev? I can see bits of red so it's painted on and not molded silver plastic. But was wondering why.
  15. I thought the power plug itself is soldered on that you need to desolder it before the back piece comes off?
  16. Atari 2600 has an odd design in that the code manually controls the v sync and h sync, which means a game could be coded to be 480i as opposed to blocky looking 240 plus it's "future proofed" with theoretical 720i and 1080i support, and even the upcoming 2k support. Only test ROM exists showing the 480i and I doubt anyone's going to try for higher res because most TV expects NTSC RF and composite to be 240p or 480i and likely will refuse the signal but it could be done if someone took the time. Beside you'd need a fair amount of RAM to keep track of everything if it's not going to be static image. Is there any other game system that can do higher resolution than expected? Or are all other game console hard wired at video level to send sync at proper time regardless of what the code might try?
  17. Bad resistor, I replaced it and it's working once again. It seems to work 100% with 2 adapter boards in for both controller ports. I've gone ahead and sent the revised board design for another run of 10 boards. The 2 prototypes will probably remain permanently in my Intellivision 3 and I'm putting together 2 more, without the external clock to see if it works fine and installing it in my other Intellivision. I can do a video of it later if I get my area cleaned up.
  18. Try getting what I have without eBay. I haven't found betamax or lasderdisc version yet. There's a few used shops that has LD's but no one wants to carry betamax, not even Goodwill or Salvation Army. I was very surprised to find a CED locally, I didn't think there were any left considering CEd didn't sell as well as LD did. PS you also missed ONE more Tron movie version: Sony PSP
  19. You forgot Fox. Back then they were actually good for Saturday morning shows. Not the mindless drivel they spew now day.
  20. My cousin snagged a working 5200 with 2 controllers and a few games for $20. /jealous PS yes I know where he lives, I don't have the keys though. /whistles
  21. One of that Atari cart is missing that little Intellivision to 2600 adapter....
  22. In my day you had only 5 different TV channels. Often time you had to adjust the antenna when you changed channel. No DVD player, no blue thang, no internet movies on demand, nothing to watch movies. If there were nothing to watch, people actually went outside to play.
  23. Fixed the wires, put together a second one for second controller, mounted the port on the system shell. Plugged the system back together and turned it on. SNOW. Checked and rechecked, power plug in, cable connected to power supply pcb, cable from mobo to power supply pcb. Still snow. I think I broke something :/ I'd have to check with my meter after some sleep. It could be loose wire from transformer, switch, or mobo power cable. It could be bad switch. It could be blown diode or something. No smoke and no funny smell I don't think I shorted something.
  24. That power plug is molded into the entire back piece, you'd have to replace it. You could take an easier way out by drilling out the broken hole, find a replacement jack that uses the same barrel size as original SNES, screw or glue it in place, and solder the tabs onto the board. I don't know where to get the replacement port though.
