    LOTR

^^ bump ^^ Any info on the hacked version of LotR? One of the chip used in bankswitch circuit isn't easily found as its obsolete.
  2. I sucked the file out and played it on my computer, it does appear to be someone was using a video camera to record the game from TV.
  3. Yeah I thought about making one myself but I can't find 74256 anywhere on eBay. If I can find a datasheet on this I could see if a similiar substitute can be made. The difficulty in finding this part is probably the only reason eBay isn't flooded with repro of PB protos.
  4. Yes they do carry Atari shit. Formerly Infrograms, the Atari games are for modern consoles. If you mean pre crash era game carts, then nope.
  5. Take a look on the bottom for the serial number and see if you have a * or + in it. Those with * in the serial number has design revision that makes them work correctly with the VCS adapter. Can't remember what the + is but it';s later IIRC.
  6. Heh. I thought about getting the Zoombox but it's kind of low res and not really good for modern games or DVD players. Heck I think I could do better than Zoombox if I used PS1 LCD screen and a 300 watts floor lamp. The only LCD projector I have is a relic from mono display era requiring separate projector and it's only 320x240 in B&W. I think I still have it though.
  7. E0 bankswitch have been covered in details. Here's a link to detailed info on E0 bankswitch and how to build one: http://www94.pair.com/jsoper/2600_pb_bs.html As for F8 bankswitch like later version of Asteroid, you need 13 input NAND gate, a D gate flip flop chip like 7474 and one hex inverter. One of the inverter connects from Atari's A12 line to EPROM's /CE input. 2 more inverter for A1 and A2 line. The inverted A1 and A2 line plus uninverted A3 to A11 goes to inputs of the NAND gate. Since NAND has 13 input, tie 2 input together with invereted A1 line. Do not connect A0 to the NAND gate. The outout of NAND gate has a cap (0.001uF) to ground and goes to another inverter before reaching the clock input of the flipflop. A0 line goes to D input of the flipflop. The Q output of the flipflop goes to A12 of the EPROM. Or just get the F8 bankswitch chip from Atariage store and skip on wiring up 3 chips.
  8. Setup a fake auction featuring game like Quadran or SQ: Water World with a $1 BIN, print that auction, and show it to him next time he looks it up.
  9. Gotcha! is a fun game but unless you are really good at multitasking, it's very hard to play that game single. Gotcha! is basically the paintball war and to win you need to capture opponent's flag while avoiding enemy fires.

    ADVENTURE 2

    Can I have your kidney?
  11. Game select and reset switch on the Jr tended to be a bit hard because Atari used plastic circuit rather than physical switch but if they work fine, great. Personally I prefer the lkarger 2600 because once in a while I'd run into stubborn 2600 cart that refuses to let go and the Jr is light enough to get picked up with the cart.
  12. I'm taking my unreleased Airworld proto to my grave!!! Seriously I'd want everything I own to be buried but I don't think anyone had tried to bury a full sized U-Haul truck before. Atari 2600 and a few games should suffice.
  13. Lots of Famicom carts and some SMS carts plus one Megadrive cart.
  14. I have a real arcade game, some cheesy game that I got for free but I've been trying to get rid of it. It's already taken, just got to bug my cousin to pick it up. I do plan to own a Tron arcade eventually, preferably a cocktail version. Also I'd love to have PC-10 arcade as well =)
  15. I remember the very first time I lost sleep over games, that was Ultima V for the computer. I couldn't get any sleep and ended up playing U5 for nearly 2 days straight.
  16. Someone bought it. $50 for 60 games plus console is pretty good deal.
  17. Tap the cart with the hammer, that should crack the glue if done right. M-Network carts- now that is a real pain in the butt and the "intellivision" half is too small for most PCB with EPROMs.
  18. im not sure if you mean a blank screen or the game with no sound....but gangster alley starts as a demo you can play but with no sound and you have to reset it to get it to work....if its not that clean the contacts as spiffy as you can get em and try it....if that still doesnt work you might just have a defective cart....i have a Seaquest thats perfectly clean but wont boot up ever..... well theyre always nice to put on a bookshelf and look at That's just it, no picture no sound at all. A few times I got color stripes and squealing sound. I tried cleaning the PCB but I think it's dead.
  19. Wisconsin??? With 1000 lakes??? You got big mosquito to deal with over there. machine gun required there!!! In Texas, you don't worry about a million scorpions invading your room and sucking you to death.
  20. Very nice!! I never considered that since I have 14 VB games (all USA) and just about every accessories that were released. I even have the VB kiosk though it needs repair. The only thing missing from USA collection is Wario Demo cart. I would like to get the flash cart if it would work with Space Invader. Not going to pay $300 on eBay for one.
  21. I could provide this game on EPROM if you can get F8 bankswitch PCB from AA store and put it together. I have a copy tht I burned myself and it works. No fancy label or box though but if all you wanted is just to play it on the real console, DIY EPROM is the way to go.
  22. Found He-Man, Bump n Jump, and Gangster Alley for 2600. For some reason Gangster doesn't work at all, I get blank screen. Left behind a rare eunuch version of Spectravision joystick
  23. 118 in stock so I doubt they can sell exact multiple of 50. Maybe they do sell singles and didn't list the price for it?
  24. Yes. 5200 has a 5v regulator inside so anything over 7.5 should work. Just make sure it has enough current, I think 700mA minimum.
  25. Wow I'd be lucky if I saw that many different titles in a year, let alone in a few months like you did. I know of one place that have about 100 2600 carts but who needs 20 Space Invaders, 20 Missle COmmands, 20 Pac Mans, etc when they won't go below a fiver each. There is another place I need to check out that *may* have many games but no idea yet. Good job on your collection.
