Thanks the rom you attached worked correctly! Now I can finish up the quirky 8-in-1 double ended XONOX multicart.
I have already completed the first half and I'll work on the second half tomorrow maybe. -

I downloaded the ROM from AA section and it plays fine on emulators I used but when I burned it to EPROM and tried it, I get bad picture. All I get are either blank or color stripes.
Since this problem happened over 3 different EPROMs, I can rule out bad burns. the F8 bankswitch PCB works fine with other 8k games so it's not the PCB either. The only thing I could think of is a list of 2600 ROM and bankswitch scheme is in error and Sir Lancelot is not F8 based but uses different bankswitch technique.
Any expert able to decompile the ROM and take a look at Sir Lancelot's source and find out what kind of bankswitch it uses?

I was looking through the reproduction for interesting games. I noticed a broken link at http://www.atariage.com/store/index.php?ma...products_id=150 (maybe at other cart pages too?)
Sea Battle is available in black, clear, and blue cartridge housings. For more information and pictures of the available cartridge colors, please click here. You may select additional colors at the top of the page (there is an additional charge for colors other than black)."Click here" in the quoted section leads to a 404. Also the quote mentions Sea Battle could be ordered in black, clear, and blue cart but the drop down menu doesn't have blue cart. Was blue cart discontinued?

Empty lasagna pan is not nightmare, it's an invitation to suicide!!!

Even if it was hacked, it may be playable only on emulator.
Burgertime uses an oddball design with the RAM chip and since only Burgertime uses this scheme, you'd have to sacrifice a Burgertime cart, pray it has separate chips and not blob from hell, and burn in the hacked version, add in a hex inverter to handle A12 (EPROM's /CE line)

I could burn the 8K Garfield EPROM if you need. To avoid any legal issue, I won't charge anything except shipping plus one EPROM if you don't have any to send to me.
EDIT: Garfield is 16k not 8k as I thought. I can still burn em though. You will need PCB with F6 bankswitch or build a custome F6 bankswitching circuit into an old 4k cart PCB.

Good tip. Surface mounted compoment can be tricky to deal with.
As for the cap in the camera, it can kill under the right condition. Always discharge them before doing anything else. A 1 mega ohm resistor across 2 posts usually will work safely.

Sorry "else", I misread. I didn't notice the original post mentioned Airworld.

Pac man was big at my old school then. When I got Pac Man for Easter, I had the bragging right of being the first in my class to own it. Today? I'd lie about having one because it really stinks compared to arcade version.

Er.... Fireworld is the second game. The last one is the Air World.
And all 4 contests were to run independent of each other. So the game was valid even if the last one was never released.

with modern HDTV? NTSC is on its way out and has about 2 years left before all stations are supposed to shut off NTSC signal for good. NTSC TVs would become rather scare after that and it's likely that most people would eventually replace them with HDTV and use NTSC converter for older equipment. Most local thirft shops don't take used TV so that's out.
Atari 2600 (and some other pre NES consoles) sometimes don't get along with modern TV. With HDTV, I got to wonder if anyone has used a non Flashback 2600 console to work on the newer TVs?
If I ever have to replace my current TV, I will pay Best Buy geek squad (or whatever) to come over and install the HDTV and make sure they work. Pepto-bismol required for them as I have like 20 game systems all hooked up at once and the mess of wires is sure to give most people nightmares. For an added bonus, I have an odd 2600 Solaris that causes my TV to roll like its PAL even though it was sold in USA stores and display proper color.
Yes I am evil sometimes. But it's not really my fault that 30 year old system are a fickle.

Epson CX5200 is a piece of junk, they make Ford Edsel look like a Ferrari.
My brother has the exact same model. It worked fine on the original pack in carts but when the cart were replaced (genuine Epson, not cheap 3rd party knockoff or re manufactured), the printer never worked since. He exchanged it in warranty. Second printer suffered the SAME thing after the original ink cart ran dry. Exchanged it again and it's failed again now out of warranty
From what I was able to find, the CX5000 series all had this problem. Seems a small tube that creates vacuum tended to fail and come apart, preventing the ink cart from working properly.
I'd junk that printer. It's not even worth donating or giving away. Do me a favor? Smash 'em before putting it out so no one will fall victim to the junk printer.

ouch. A can of WD-40 and a vise grip plier might work. Failing that you could try looking for an alligator socket at some hardware stores. It works on just about any kind of nuts and bolts and evene works on odd shaped ones as well as most rusted or stripped nuts.
Last resort; use dremel to cut a slot and pop it out then get a new set that are the same size.

Well, I have thought about single 27c512 EPROM but it's kind of hard to make a working flipable double ended Xonox cart. Making 2 PCB, with '256 EPROM on each for 4 games each will let me make a flipable cart. Just wanted to be different.

I have tried ATi TV Wonder VE and it doesn't work at all. I get blank screen if I powered up the 2600 or 7800 but if I leave it on then reboot the PC< I can get picture until I power cycle the console.
weak RF signal somewhere is breaking the cheap TV card. I have not tried the AV modded console or the Flashback 2 yet since I took the TV card out.

I ordered a number of F8 bankswitched pcb from Atariage store long ago to have my own F8 games for playing on the real console. But I have a little itch to make a multi-cart. Specifically to take a dirt common Xonox double ender cart, rip out the 2 old PCB, make 2 multi-cart PCB with swtiches and install them. Coincidently, there are exactly 8 Xonox games, all of them using F8. So I could make 2 PCB of 4 games each.
While I looked at the specs for difference between 8k EPROM and 32k EPROM, 32K has address line (A13 and A14) to pin 26 and 27 while 8K had NC on 26 and /P on pin 27. But on the F8 PCB, there is connection from EPROM pin 26 and 27 to pin 16 and 17 of the F8 chip. I don't have the detailed spec of that F8 chip so can I safely ignore that 2 lines or do I need to do something with it?

I found the "dot" probably late '80s but never could figure what it was for. I read an article in Game Informer magazine (first year issue I think) and it had the (very inaccurate) history of video games which included a bit about the easter egg in Adventure.
Still hadn't figured out how to find that room until I got internet in '95 or '96.

I have never heard of this homebrewn game before and it's not listed in 2600 database.

Cartridge shell demand

I would like to see NES carts. I can't get used cart locally anymore since most of them stopped carrying NES and those that still do, price them by eBay rate. I don't want to pay $5 for a Duck Hunt/SMB cart just for the shell.
However demand won't be high until someone can mass produce useable EPROM capatiable boards since it's also a PITA it desolder and remove 2 old ROM chips, modify EPROM chips, and solder them in. There's no room for socket inside a cart case so there's no room for error.
Do dump the old grey. Aside from the 2 Zelda game (black with gold paint), I don't think any licensed NES cart came in anything beside grey. Famicom carts came in just about every colors and even transparent colors.
