  1. Agreed. It's a pretty selfish act when you think about it. For one they are not releasing a rom out to the retro gaming community. But also, it's not even their intellectual property. I'm pretty sure most programmers that made games 10-20 years ago would not mind their code/games being released to the public. It's just speculation, but I'm pretty sure they have other things to worry about. So just because they bought a cart doesn't mean it's their game; they shouldn't even be making the choice. Plus it's already been dumped, I mean come on, just release them!
  2. In case you haven't seen it (though it would be hard considering it's on the same page as your post), the virtual boy flash cart is coming very soon. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...1547&st=160
  3. 83% isn't laughable. So what if the guy gets a large salary, that's still a small portion of the revenue that is going to community programs.
  4. K guys, if you still aren't convinced, read this pdf: "We channel 83 percent of total revenue into education, career services and other critical community programs." Ex: Goodwill A and Goodwill B Both Goodwills receive an Atari dropped off illegally after store donation hours are over. Someone comes by and rummages through GoodWill A's illegal drop off and takes an atari. When an employee from Goodwill B comes in next morning, they are pissed to see the illegal dump, but goes through it, finds the atari, and puts a $70 price tag on it. Some chump purchases the atari 6 months later from GoodWill B. When all is said and done, Goodwill B was able to give ~$55 for the atari to the programs that it supports, and GoodWill A, not knowing an atari even existed, is unable to send the $55. Are you telling me that the person who took the atari from GoodWill A is doing a service by taking a game system out of the illegal dump that could have been sold for charity, but leaving the rest of the dump that they didn't want? I'm not trying to make you guys feel bad, just hoping to raise awareness that Goodwill is a good organization, even if they do put ridiculous prices on items sometimes
  5. The fact of the matter is that the atari, illegally dumped or not, could have been sold at goodwill. I'm sure I would be pissed too if someone left a whole bunch of garbage at the front door of the goodwill and I had to clean it up/search through it. But, this atari would not have been thrown away, it would have been sold in the store or put up for auction on ebay. At least part of the money would then go to charity. So that's it, you are stealing from a charity. Whether it is justifiable to you or not, you are stealing from charity. The atari may have gone for $70, which may seem outrageous to us, but it may have actually sold for that much, and the money would have gone to charity. One time, when I was at salvation army, a whole lot of stuff was dumped from a church sale. I saw people rummaging through, so I went over there and started digging. Meanwhile people were bringing there cars around and taking TVs and microwaves when it was clearly stealing. I dug through and found two sega genesis controllers, and asked if I could pay for them inside. Why would anyone steal from charity! I held my tongue until I heard the racial slurs. I just don't understand how someone would think racial slurs are acceptable on the AA forums? Like video games and racism go hand in hand or something. If I started throwing around the N word (and winking after it, mind you, like we're all part of a white supremacy group), people would most certainly have a problem. And Artlover, just because the racial slurs fit your current racisms, it still doesn't give a right for it to be on here. Frankly, I'm not sure why anyone's still talking to this guy, and why this thread hasn't been locked already...
  6. So you steal from a donation center and you're racist?
  7. Hmmm, mine's different, I have the older serial version. Basically the same thing, except it's vfm.bin for me, and it does show up in vecflash. Not sure what to do with that, Richard's on here, though he's probably busy with the vb flash cart:)
  8. Been a while since i've used it, but I think you need to flash some file along with the games. It should be somewhere in the instructions.
  9. I played it last night after watching this review, and it is really great! The reverse gravity is mind-boggling at first, but you get used to it after a while.
  10. I just found this guide while searching for that cord that was mentioned. It seems to be pretty all-inclusive: http://www.sonic-cult.org/articles/32x/
  11. I can see your point. But also, I would never pay $1k for a single NES cart. It may take the fun out of collecting, but it shouldn't take the fun out of the actual games. You can preview the games and pick and choose which ones you want to play. It is more difficult to choose which ones to play, but for me, I would rather have to make that choice than be stuck with a limited number of carts. I pretty much strictly collect multicarts/flash carts and hardware (systems, accessories, controllers). This way I can own nearly every game for nearly every system with every useful controller without having a ridiculous space/money concern. Legality aside, multicarts are definitely the way to go!
  12. Well I have purchased a HW3, but unfortunately the hard drive must have been damaged during shipping. I'm going to try to get it working, but if I can't I'll look you up. Thanks, Matt
  13. I think you're right, but the Cuttle Cart 3 has been released which will let you do that. Not trying to take anything away from your sale, this IS a great deal and someone should jump on it. It's difficult to find.
  14. So basically, if we just want an MSX for casual use/game play, we should be on the lookout for an MSX2+. Turbo MSX is too expensive, MSX1 doesn't have the power, MSX2 might not have that sound chip, so MSX2+ is the best setup we can get without paying an arm and a leg. Am I right? Plus, this little device http://www.msx.ch/sunformsx/products/hardware/ideflash2.html is basically a flash cart we can use to load games from?
  15. Sure, it's yours for the price of shipping, PM me
  16. Actually, it's 10 of them:) Truly a rarity
  17. I got my adapter for $35 shipped, they can be had for fairly cheap if you are patient. Someone was offering to sell one for $150 on another board...just have to wait it out to find a good deal on one like with most things.
  18. Honestly, both is the way to go. If you can find a Sean Kelly 2.0 cart on ebay when he sells them and get a vecflash, you are basically getting the vecflash for free considering how much the Sean Kelly carts go for from other sellers. One cart contains all the production games and most homebrews. You have the vecflash for the few games that came out after the sean kelly cart, plus you can develop games for it. If the vecflash could hold every game and more, it would be the definitive vectrex cart. If I had to choose between one of them, I honestly don't know which I'd choose...Sean Kelly's is easy, vecflash is flexible.
  19. Anyone else think $50 is appalling? I liked that you were getting together some game manuals, but I assumed they would be free... Reading back through the CC2 post, you can see that there were some people working on manuals and someone uploaded their own CC2 package for the cost of $0. IMO, selling something like this is retarded, someone could potentially buy your package and upload it for free for everyone's use, and there's little that you could do about it considering it's just some ROMs and text files. Am I wrong? Has anyone spent some time getting their CC3 setup? Maybe this community can get a different rom/manual collection together for free distribution.
  20. But the image won't be at full size, it will be about the size as shown in the post. I'm pretty sure the pixelated VB was used to give off the classic gaming vibe. I like it
  21. That's really an awesome feature, I was shocked when I found out you could do that. DeadMeow, I would say just get a cuttle cart 3, but World Series Baseball doesn't work with it...
  22. The joypads for me were a letdown, they aren't very comfortable, and I usually never have a problem with the prolines anyway. I'd rather use the prolines, but here's to a better experience for you
