  1. Addictive. Thanks a lot! Regards, patjomki
  2. Hi Gunstar! Your eyes are getting older, don't they? But just in case you didn't recognize my XL I took another photo of it. The XL is sitting in a modified old Tandon case with some extensions like IDE hard disk, STEREO upgrade, RAM upgrade, seriell and parallel ports. BTW, the ATARI XL was my first computer. Regards, patjomki
  3. Hi, took a while until I was able to shot pictures of my workspace. Excuse the poor quality but I took the photos with the camera of my mobile phone. O.K. Here is what you can see. Left hand side there is my TT running "beams" on a tiny tft. Next to it and in front of my modified ATARI XL is my ct60 equipped falcon running "Derealization". Below you can see the tower case of my second Falcon with graphics card, Eiffel interface card and external keyboard/mouse. The screen of it is showing "ATARIAge" with Highwire and 1280x1024. Regards, patjomki
  4. O.K. Here is my list of favourite cartridge games (apart from the 2 you already own) in descending order (best game No. 1 etc.). 1.) Cannon Fodder (sooo amazing) 2.) Raiden (best 2D shooter I know) 3.) Syndicate (good tactical game, some funny jokes) 4.) Val d'Isere (fast racing game, although a little bit too difficult [still couldn't finish the last level]) 5.) Skyhammer (one of the better newer games) 6.) Super Burn Out (again a good racer) 7.) Power Drive Rallye (good graphics, fair difficulty) 8.) Flashback (good story, great animation) 9.) Kasumi Ninja (nice endmoves) 10.) Battlesphere [Gold], great space game although a little bit too pricey Have a nice day, patjomki
  5. Well, as you might suppose I disagree. For me jumping over the first water surface was quite easy compared to the part near the end of the level. Depends. I would like to see a difficulty level that has the ability to raise. Anyway. High difficulty or not, Crownland is one of the highlights for the ATARI. patjomki
  6. I've got nothing to add (well, almost nothing). The look and feel of this game demo is so polished it really shows that the full game will be a modern game on an ancient platform. Nevertheless there are some really old platformers for the ATARI 8-Bit that have addicting gameplay as well although the graphics and sounds are worse (e.g. Miner '49er). patjomki (playing on ATARI for ages but just recently registered for AtariAge)
  7. Yes, it is possible to jump over the water. Although you have to do pixel perfect jumps. The hardest jump btw is near the end of this demo version. There are two birds and you have to jump onto one of the birds back to get on safe ground. Anyway, I had to play it quite a lot of times to finish the demo. So I agree with you that the difficulty level is a little bit too high. Nevertheless once you finished the demo you start getting used to it and then you can finish it quite often. :-) patjomki
