Not ports but the actual cartridge. I had an XE and those I don't believe worked but I really want a computer to play those XE games and to play 2600 games would rock too. If all or none played 2600 games, what was the most advanced/backwards compatible computer cartridge-wise?

I think California Games' theme was Wild Thing, not Louie Louie from what I remember.

In that joystick pic, they still make Pepsi One? I haven't seen that stuff around here in at least a year.

Nah I'm not a drinker, I'm not even of age lol and I have nothing worth trading. My rarest cart is only the Chuck Norris/Artillery Duel double ender. I'd be interested in buying tons of cheap games I don't have(and I only have 27 2600 games and 21 7800 games. I don't have a 5200 and I don't have a working 65XE anymore I do need working 2 button joysticks for 7800 since all I have are one buttons. I wanna be able to play Ninja Golf and some Bird vs Dr J.

I've never been before but I got a PM a while ago about it(happened to bring me back to the site) and I was wondering about what it was like. Basically is it a thing where you can buy games and systems or is it only trading/showing off collections?

If I'm not the best at this stuff, should I just file or try the wire cutters? I don't wanna ruin the cord. It's only 5 bucks but it's the trouble and thats a few less carts I could buy. Is there any kind of adaptor? I assume no because someone would have mentioned it already but perhaps there's some easy way.

I'm 19 and part gamer part collector. I usually buy to play though. I own some bad games but I still like playing them anyways.

Stupid question but how do I file it down? It's metal, not wood so sandpaper won't work and I don't wanna ruin the thing. And yeah the F Adaptor thing is a non issue for me because of the VCR and Satellite involved. When the cord is in the Atari correctly, it is clear as day since I did do the hookup to the TV but the length of that post must be the problem. I did notice a difference but didn't think it would matter.

I've done it all correctly except the RCA Male to Male connector I got from Radio Shack likes the switchbox input but not the Atari's. If I push it against the Atari, it will look great but when I let go, it doesn't keep that tight fit and I don't know why. I did get the Atari used a while ago so maybe the hole was made wider somehow. If that was the case, is there a way to make it tight again? The cord I used from Radio Shack was a 3 ft Digital Audio Cable Item # 42-2679 It says Phono Plug to Phono plug on it but that must be good enough if I'm really close to a good picture. It just won't stay that way when I let go of the wire. I have work and can't respond til tonight but hopefully someone can help. Thanks.

I don't know the proper name for it but it is the wire that goes from the system into the switchbox. If so, I'd like to know where to get just the cord. The 7800 my grandmother has was modded to fit coaxial but the wire was pretty crappy and torn apart held by tape. We have an old switchbox that might be from her 2600 that she forgot to throw out with the system and games back in the day. So basically is the wire the kind that will fit into the switchbox in the AA store?(switchbox looks exactly like what we have) If so, where can I get just the wire? I know I could get a whole system and use that but Ebay would be my only choice and I don't need another system so the shipping would be unneccessarily outrageous. I'd rather not wait til that Nov 2nd show either(the one in Boston if I can even get there that day)

Ohhh ok, I thought I had to mix it all up. That's easy enough then.... sorta. Since it's a big TV and we can't get behind it, can I assume I can just do the VCR instead? Like I take the Dish out of the VCR, put it into the AB switch. From the AB switch goes a Coaxial to the VCR and from the AB goes the system hooked with a F adaptor. If I have to use the TV, I can try to get back there and I'd know what to do since it'd be just like I have my NES.

If I reroute all the hookups, it might screw up how to do stuff with the TV, Dish, and VCR and it'd end up confusing my grandma. I wanna make it simple for her too.

Long story about that. Years ago she had a 2600 but it wouldn't work for whatever reason so she threw that and all the games away. About 18 months ago, I got a 7800 off of Ebay for her since she wanted to play them again and I built up most of the games I remember her having. She loves paddle games the most since it's easier on her than the joystick but the joystick games are for me Anyways, I still need to get 2 button joypad or joysticks for the 7800 since we're using 3rd party one buttons. That means the games I play like Hat Trick and Ninja Golf won't work yet. I wish there were stores around here that had cheap Atari games but the Raynham Flea Market has no selection and I like the search better than just Ebay. I saw 2 unopened 2 button sticks on Ebay for 20 bucks but I want to find the pads if they're any good. I was really raised on the NES controller so I still love a good thumbpad.

The keyboard not responding just meant that my 65XE is not working and I can use the AB switch for the 7800 over my grandmother's.

I'm not over the house now and I hooked the system up a long time ago but now want the increase in quality. I forgot about the F Type thing but we can already use coaxial cables. I guess that means we already have the adaptor. I wish I were there now to clear this up.

I actually have that Radio Shack AB switch. I was gonna use it for my 65XE but the buttons above the keyboard don't respond so I might as well use it for my grandmother's Atari. Do I still need that Female to RCA connector or whatever it is called or is that AB switch enough?

I have a system selector but that is just AV connections. I have a regular gray splitter that might work but I'm not sure since there is no switch to it. I don't want the quality to degrade like the old switchboxes do. If I use that gold thing in the auction, can I hook that to a gray splitter and get the awesome quality? We have an old switchbox that is the same as the one in the AA store but that has the twin leads and we don't have the adaptor to make it coaxial style. If we got one of those, would that plus the gold thing be good or is there too much interference in that setup? I wish we could go straight to the VCR but then the dish wouldn't hook up and we sorta need that.

The only thing is, we can't hook it straight to a TV because we have a Satellite dish and VCR hooked up. We originally put the Coaxial cable from the Switchbox into the VCR, the Satellite wire which was originally in the VCR went to the switchbox, and the TV went into the switchbox I think. We want to hook this up to something like a splitter but I don't know if we need a switchbox or if a normal non switching splitter will do. I know this explanation isn't great but hopefully you can all follow. I can give more info if need be but the goal is to make the Atari look perfect on a 35 inch TV() while keeping the VCR and Satellite Dish hooked up fine.

Haha, at least he tried. I love that game but 2 is way better. I had to import the Euro one because the US got screwed out of it.

Probably Donkey Kong just comparing to the Arcade and Colecovision versions. Karate though, yuck!
