  1. So you use this with an emulator? Or with a Atari 5200?
  2. I don't have the skills by any means, but I always thought that the Atari Jaguar controller would be a great case for a 5200 controller. If somehow you could shoehorn in a N64 or PS1 analog stick instead of the crosspad, it would be even better. Project anyone??
  3. Ok, so after looking at this list, Choplifter does use two buttons. I don't seem to have control over two buttons. So I stand corrected. Still love the Jaguar controller though...... Randall
  4. Ok, I can't seem to find any games that use two buttons right now in my collection. I just tried Ms. Pac, Choplifter, Robotron, Joust, and Mario Bros. Do any of those use two buttons and I am just to stupid to figure it out? Let me know. Thanks, Randall
  5. If you want to use the most comfortable controller that Atari ever made, I would go to Best Electronics and buy the Best Jaguar Power Pad adapter with a New Jaguar Power Pad combo ($26.95). It works great, feels great, you still have use of two buttons for the 7800, and at least you are still using an Atari product. It is the only controller that I use anymore. http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/review.htm Now if I could just complete my mod for it so that I can use it on the 5200 I would be set......
  6. First off, I love the hard case. Has anybody else seen this before? I would love to get my hands on that. Was it made by Atari? Secondly, this sure looks like a 2-port system to me, yet that seems to be the 4-port style RF switch in the last picture. Am I missing something? Can you use a 2-port system with the 4-port switch? Interesting 5200 eBay auction
  7. The Dreamcast is such an underated system. The graphics are awesome. The controller fits like a glove. Nothing bad to say about it. I can't stand playing my PS1 after playing the Dreamcast. It doesn't even compare.....
  8. Request is in your Inbox!!! Count me in!
  9. Well, I still haven't given up on this. I am currently working on just making a digital controller with Jay Tilton's mod's inside a Jaguar controller. But then I noticed in the FAQ that there are schematics for an adapter for a analog PC controller. This really intrigues me. Are there any old gamepads that were analog? Or were all the analog PC controllers just big flight joysticks? I know that there are a lot of gamepads made now that have the dual analog joysticks like the Playstation, but I think that they would be just as complicated as the actual Playstation controller that I have torn apart here on my desk. Does anyone have a schematic that shows how a Playstation controllers works? N64? Dreamcast? I can't find any information on the net currently. Anyways......is sleep really a necessity??
  10. I have replaced this connector on some of my NES's. I got them of eBay. They worked great. You actually don't even need to push the cartridge down with the connectors that I bought. You just slide it in and turn the system on. That should save on some of the wear and tear on those connectors.
  11. The Odyssey 2 was the first system my family ever had. We got it dirt cheap at a Rummage Sale at the church. We had to beg and plead for mom and dad to get it for us. Of course we still didn't quite feel up to par with all of our friends. It wasn't the cool system to have where we lived. Nobody else really liked playing. But my older brother and I played that think for hours. Great memories of "Showdown" and those bouncing bullets, "Pick Axe Pete", battling for the highest score and wondering why you only had one life, those were the days......
  12. Nothing beats Pick Axe Pete. I played that game for hours when I was a kid. My brother and I would duke it out all day long to see who could get the highest score. I still play it to this day, more than any other classic game.
  13. The best and easiest way that I have found to clean the outside of a 2600 (if it is really nasty), is to take it apart. Just take the screws out of the back and set the board aside. Gently remove the bezel over the switches and scrub it down with some general household cleaner. Your left with the top case and the base. Take those two pieces and toss them in the dish washer. They look like there brand new when they are done. I've down this with a couple of my 2600's that looked like they had been sitting in a barn for the last 20 years. It gets everything out of all the nooks and grooves on the top of those original cases.
  14. So I cracked open a analog PlayStation controller today when I got home to see how the whole analog setup works. It has a big board in there with *both* analog joysticks attached to it. But I only need one. I am a rookie at this, but if I trace down all the connections on the board, I should be able to split one off and use it independently. Yes?? No?? Well..... I don't know. Maybe I should crack open my Dreamcast controller instead......
  15. "and the Pause, start&C button for Pause, start&reset, " Yes, that would be the most logicial way to map the buttons, but could you imagine bumpin' that C button right in the middle of an intense game? That would probably piss me off a little......
