  2. This topic may have been covered elsewhere, so I apologize if I didn't search well enough.

Over the years I've come to acquire a Jaguar, Jaguar CD, 2 CD games and about 9 cartridge games (4 complete, 5 loose). Nothing rare by any means, but a decent starting lot. Now, I mean the following statement in the nicest way possible, but, I really dislike this thing. AvP is the only game I've picked up that I can force myself to play, and nothing else on the system really blows me away.

My opinion on the system aside, I'm having a bit of a mental dilemma. Half me of me says 'Trade it for stuff you really do want!', but the other half says 'Eventually you're going to want to play it again, and the CD hardware seems to be becoming rarer!'

I guess I'm interested to hear what the people here have to say on the issue. I wouldn't be holding on to it just to eBay later, but I'm pretty close to posting it on the trading board here. Is it worth holding on to?

  3. I don't know about this issue specifically, but IMHO there are conversion issues for every port of every Capcom arcade fighter.

There's a recurring thread about these issues over at SRK if you're really curious.

Is saying that the CCC2 version of SF2ST is perfect, but I have no interest in validating it. (SF3:3S nut.)

If you're interested in serious play, your best bets are:

    1. Buy the cabinet / board.

    2. MAME (Only after you buy the board, of course.. :) )

  4. Hunt the Wumpus on the 99/4a scared me.

You'd wander into the Wumpus' room and it'd bite down on the screen.

Heh, I was playing HTW last week and mentioned to my wife how that used to scare the **** out of me as a kid (6 or 7 as well), to which she proceeded to make fun of me for an hour.

I was moderately frightened of playing Yars Revenge in the dark as a kid, the sound in that game is wicked good for an old cart.

  5. concur with kisrael's thoughts above.

i was absolutely sucked in by the block game, and was sadly disappointed when i found that 50 was the last level.

Not having much luck (or fun) with the ping pong tower game, and the shooting game is somewhat meh.

I am glad I bought it though, this will be the title to pull out when friends come over.

  6. Love the 3do. I have a goldstar one, which I've had people tell me is very problematic.

Sorry to bring this thread back up, but I was curious as to the general problems with the Goldstar 3do? I picked one up today, known working for a very low price. I've read a lot of things about this one being wonky, but never exactly what the problems are?

  7. Tron 2.0 had me throw an xbox controller down a flight of stairs. I still to this day don't know if I was really bad at it, or was just totally missing some gameplay mechanic. I was also never able to beat the shark in Viewtiful Joe. :(

I actually slogged my way through Land of the Dead and Call of Cthuhlu, both of which really tried my patience in terms of bugs and lack of clear objectives.

And although I'm actually loving the game, there are so many problems with Indiana Jones / Infernal Machines on the 64...

  8. Don't be deluded by the drama queens on Neo-Geo.com

Heh, that nugget will save me a lot of time. :)

Anyone care to share their opinions on what the top 3 shmup's are?

Also, can someone tell me what they think a fair (buying) price is for a first gen AES controller? I paid way too much for a second gen, and it feels like a piece of s***.

  9. They are in high demand. They allow you to use cheaper MVS games in an AES system. So people will pay dearly to save hundreds or even thousands of dollars collecting games to play.

so, it's all just the fact i want one, not the tech in the small box? :(

  10. White Men Can't Jump is a very special game. I don't know of there's ever been another game that got absolutely everything wrong. Most games at least have something well done about them. The team selection screen even sucks in this game. Perhaps I should write an article about it. It could be the worst game I've ever played.

What, how no matter what you press, the d-pad sends you 2 teams off? :)
