  1. Certainly, investing in a new console in order to take advantage of the incredibly innovative and not-at-all-cookie-cutter RPG that has soaked up an impressive amount of money with nothing more to show for it than photos of the finished product, 0 shipped cartridges, and a forum of defensive fanboys masturbating violently is a VERY wise purchasing decision, and I wish you luck in your future endeavors. Love, Epicenter.
  2. No Genesis system was ever sent to me. Are you not even aware of what you're pestering me about? .. I suppose not. At any rate, after numerous attempts to e-mail Mr. Santulli, I never got a response and was unable to reach him via AIM either. I've recently been provided allegedly-correct contact info from cmosfm, and as soon as I get in touch w/ him I'll be sending him the money he's owed. It's not my obligation to inform you of this, and I don't appreciate your attempts to defame me over a transaction which has nothing to do with you. Kindly tend to your own business.
  3. Run-of-the-mill bump. Most of these items are still available for sale.
  4. I'm looking to sell my CIB Japanese Neo Geo CD system. I love this machine but I need the money more. So I will accept the highest reasonable offer I receive. Please make offers here, via PM, e-mail ([email protected]) or AIM (Epicenter713). The machine looks brand new and works great. It runs games perfectly. Included is the original power brick, AV cables, and a controller. The pad is very responsive and clicky, and has a good feel to it. The buttons are also very responsive. The box is also in very nice shape and is a good display item. I have developed a Neo Geo CD overclocking modification. If you would like me to overclock this system for you for dramatic performance improvements in slowdown-ridden games like Metal Slug 2, please let me know. Upon request I will include some games. I'll have to check exactly what I've got. I know I've got quite a few fighting games incl. Samurai Showdown/Spirits. The system will also happily run backed-up games from a regular CD-R. Here are some photos of the unit, incl. one of it up and running playing Metal Slug. Thank you for your interest and I look forward to doing business with you.
  5. I do not have any 'square-button' Famicoms. Sorry. Here is a list of FC games I have (not in any particular order): - Samurai Pizza Cats - Ikari III - After Burner - Choujin Sentai Jetman - Buggy Popper - Duck Tales - Duck Tales 2 - Quarth - can't read the title of this one, but it says "Tonkin house" © Tokyo shoseki, game ID TKS-G9 - Mach Rider - Tetris - Astro Boy - Rockman 4 - Gun Sight - Field Combat - Another cart I Can't read. Title has '2' in it, it shows some kids (one of which is a robot?) in a library with books and some odd star thing, an anthropomorphized screw and.. an octopus .. and is that a red jelly bean with eyes? Peculiar. Konami made it. - Tiny Toon Adventures - Yume Penguin Monogatari - Captain ED - I can't read this but it says "The ultimate game on planet earth". TFC-PH. - Binary Land - Sky Destroyer - Rainbow Islands - Super Mario Bros - Super Mario USA - Super Mario Bros 3 - Fantasy Zone - Some baseball game in an irregularly sized Jaleco cart - Knight Gundam Story - Kirby - Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers - Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers 2 - Little Nemo - Rockman 3 - Rock Board (an odd rockman title) - Ikari - Batman - Dr. Mario - Great boxing Rush-Up - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Babel - Armadillo - Jin Sei Geki John Three (3) - Baseball - Rockman - Corocon - Some game from Tokyo Shoseki Co. with a rabbit in a racecar on the front - Duck Tales 2 Bear in mind unless it is an unusually large or expensive order I only ship games bundled with a system. I will be more than happy to bundle some games with a Famicom or other machine however.
  6. Has anyone turned up any Ecco the Dolphin/Tides of Time prototypes? I'd pay pretty hefty quantities for one.
  7. 2 week bump. Most of this stuff is still up for sale. Anyone interested?
  8. I'm looking to sell a boxed Japanese Saturn system in great shape, with AV cables and power cable included. The system also comes with these games: - Panzer Dragoon - Panzer Dragoon II Zwei - Panzer Dragoon Azel ("The Panzer Dragoon RPG") - NiGHTS into Dreams - Christmas NiGHTS - Virtual On Feel free to make other game requests. The existing bundle is composed primarily of some of the most popular and hard-to-find titles for the system. Upon request I will also bundle: - Saturn arcade sticks, boxed - 4MB SRAM Carts Please make me a reasonable offer here, via PM, e-mail ([email protected]) or on AIM (Epicenter713). Thanks for your interest.
  9. I'm looking to sell quite a few Japanese systems, games and accessories and am also open to things to look out for in my local area. Please contact me via email ([email protected]), AIM (epicenter713) or just PM me on this forum if you are interested in any items and we will work out a deal. I'll ship anywhere in the world. - 2 Famicom HVC-001 systems, one boxed - 1 Famicom HVC-101 "AV Famicom" loose but in great condition - Tons and tons of Famicom carts - Super Famicom systems (I have TONS of these), 1 Boxed - SFC controllers, and some assorted games, boxed or otherwise - Japanese MegaDrive Model 1 systems (boxed) - 2 3DO Systems (boxed) with games - Sega Saturn systems (boxed, many versions and revisions) - Sega Dreamcast systems (boxed) - N64 systems (loose) - PSX/PSone systems (loose or boxed) Also-- I offer a console overclocking service where I will increase the performance of any MegaDrive/Genesis, Famicom or Sega Dreamcast system you order from me, at your request. This dramatically reduces or completely removes slowdown in intensive games and will be professionally performed, and stability tested. I'm the author of the NES/Famicom and MegaDrive/Genesis overclocking guides, so you can trust that I know what I am doing. I'll raise a MegaDrive system from the default CPU speed of ~7.67 MHz to 9 MHz or as high as 12 MHz, and a Famicom system from 1.79 MHz (default) to ~2.4 MHz, or a Dreamcast up to about 250 MHz. Thanks for your interest.
  10. It depends a lot on where you get them and the version you're buying, as well as condition of course. Most of the ones I sell that are boxed are in a condition that looks almost right from the factory, while the loose ones show some wear but nothing serious. e.g. minor scratches or slight discoloration.
  11. It's negotiable depending on exactly what you want. I prefer to do things as bundles, so for example I think a Japanese Saturn, whichever model you prefer (Model 1, Model 2, different varieties, incl. White saturn systems), with the original box, AV cables, power cable, 2 standard controllers, a 3D controller and a couple of good games like Panzer Dragoon, NiGHTS, a couple of the Saturn's great racing titles-- things of that nature, in their original jewel case. Everything of course would be in like-new or very, very good shape, tested to work, somewhere between $100 and $120 depending on # of controllers, games, etc. But like I said we can work out something customized. I've got a lot of stuff I'm looking to get rid of actually .. loose Saturns, Super Famicoms one of which is boxed and in remarkable shape, some boxed games, Dreamcasts in like-new shape with their original box and accessories (again I can bundle plenty of games for very little additional cost), a couple loose original Famicom systems (HVC-001), LOTS of Famicom carts ... just let me know what you are interested in. Oh, also 2 boxed 3DOs and a lot of 3DO games, Neo Geo CD games, and some of the less-rare Neo-Geo MVS games I can easily get for you as well, if you find any of that interesting. Same for japanese PSX and PSone systems, boxed and complete of course.
  12. I've got some great-condition boxed Japanese Saturns I'm looking to sell if you want one, as well as of course the Japanese controllers, regular and 3D-style with an analog stick which works with LOTS of games. Also arcade sticks. I'd strongly recommend it over a US or European model as most of the best software never left Japan, especially some very amazing shooters. Of course you will need a means to defeat region protection too. Or just get a Japanese saturn-- most of the good US/EU titles came out in Japan too, after all. If you want games I've got a pretty good selection so far, but I can pick you up some good Japanese games to get you started. I've got 3 copies of Panzer Dragoon II Zwei I need to get rid of (are they reproducing?) .. same for NiGHTS/Xmas NiGHTS.
  13. Mm, it probably just has an FC cart slot hiding somewhere, though. I highly doubt the custom ASICs in the 360 are understood well enough to have been cloned so rapidly. Hell, there's so little information about the custom hardware in the XB360 and PS3 right now that you pretty much need to have a devkit to know what's actually going on in there. And I suspect most factories in China cannot fabricate such complex ICs with hundreds of millions of transistors on such a small process. There's few fabs in the world that can build such chips and it's very expensive. Yields are also commonly quite low. Long story short, it'd cost a fortune. Imitating the XB360's shell and sticking a Famicom on a Chip in there .. very cheap.
  14. What sources told you Japan used PAL electricity? I am from China, most of my sources are likely wrong. We are the leading country for bootlegged videogames and systems. reverse-engineering systems and games to bootleg/clone them takes knowledge and skill .. just because such products are generally of a low grade isn't something to blame on lack of knowledge, rather lack of funds or effort. And 10 minutes on Wikipedia could've cleared up such a basic issue as power frequency vs. vertical refresh rate/video standards...
  15. *raises his hand* PM me or preferably email me ([email protected]) or find me on AIM (Epicenter713).
  16. Just because a game doesn't see a US release doesn't make it unofficial. Look at the Saturn; most of the good games never left Japan; and the systems was consequently a lot more popular there... Sega still has to authorize GDROM production so until the games start coming out on 700MB CD media they're plenty 'official'.
  17. You have no fucking idea what you are talking about. I have over 5 Super Famicom systems RIGHT HERE that I use on an American military base in Japan .. so the voltage *IS* 120V, 50Hz, and I use an AMERICAN MEGADRIVE POWER BRICK. Japanese ones work too. Hell, I've run such systems off *12-14v* bricks, and because the input voltage is stepped down to 5v before it reaches the system, it doesn't damage anything. You don't want to go much over 16v because the 7805 may not be able to take it, but aside from running a little warm overvolting a 7805 is usually fine, especially if it's heatsinked. Those parts can handle surprising amounts of heat without incident. Actually, I run a lot of my systems off the same sort of brick -- My FC1/FC2s work great with an MD power brick... Have you ever tried what you're saying will fry the unit? No? Then shut the hell up and listen to the guy who takes these bricks/systems out of spec all the time. Hell it's practically my hobby.
  18. I picked up a PC Engine Duo (which will read all HuCards and CDROM/CDROM2/SuperCDROM discs) at a local junk shop for 5000 yen (equivalent of ~$41 USD, woot) and now I'm looking for good software for it. What are the must-have games and anything else worth playing? I'm mostly interested in good shooters and platformers though I also enjoy puzzle games. I'm not interested however in any RPG or strategy titles. Thanks!
  19. Nope. There's lots of great shooters and Naomi arcade backports, still coming out today. Like Under Defeat, TriggerHeart Exelica, Karous, Radilgy (Radirgy?), and Last Hope which also saw release on the original NeoGeo hardware (AES).
  20. Japanese power is ~100V and US is around 120. It's not a huge difference and it will probably work fine. I use a number of Japanese items on 120V without incident. If you check the brick, it's likely even rated for 120, 50/60hz power frequency, and maybe even 230V. I'm not guaranteeing it's a good idea but you'll probably do just fine. Note that a brick for a Sega Megadrive/Genesis will work too, and if the current is high enough, an FC/NES brick should be OK too. Just make sure it's center-negative, around 9V and over an amp and you should be good. Re: the prices .. 150?! 200?! INSANITY. Exporters must be fucking ripoff artists. At local junk shops you can get an armload of SFC systems for under $15 .. $2-$5 per, with all the hookups and 2 controllers, maybe $8 per .. the only catch is they generally do have some degree of yellowness, although usually not severe. If anyone wants me to pack them up a box full of Super Famicoms, I don't mind, for a reasonable price. You could take up juggling with the SFC in this country.. I wish it was the same way with Sega or NEC hardware.
