Looking to trade some of my protos for protos that I don't own. Here they are: Hoppin' Mad (unreleased) Tecmo World Wrestling Bad News Baseball The games are all tested and work perfectly, and the two released games are on long proto dev boards. this is one of two known copies of Hoppin' Mad, and I own the other, so this is pretty much you're only shot at getting it if you're interested. This game is incomplete on the third level, just as my other copy is, so it is my belief that this is as far as development ever got for this title. This specific ROM is also not released. I can take extra pics for people who are actually interested. I'm really only looking for trades for NES protos that I don't have. I'm interested in anything that is NOT on the list below as I already own the following prototypes: - Abadox -- Loose Natsume EPROMs - Airball -- Unreleased Unique/undistributed build - Alpha Mission - Arcadia VI -- Unreleased - Archon - Bad News Baseball -- Two unique copies - Bases Loaded 2 - Battletoads - Blaster Master - Blues Brothers - Boulder Dash - Castelian - Castle of Deceit - Caveman Ninja NTSC -- Unreleased - Caesar's Palace -- Different than the released version - Chuck Yeager's Fighter Combat -- Unreleased - Color a Dinosaur -- Extremely early build - Color Dreams "Color Test Cart" -- Unreleased NES development tool? - Crystalis - Darkman - Digger -- Early Digger T. Rock. Multiple differences. - Ducktales 2 - Elite -- Unreleased NTSC version. Single loose EPROM. WIP. - Freedom Force - Gargoyles Quest 2 - Hatris - Hoppin' Mad -- (two identical builds) Unreleased - The Hunt for Red October -- Insanely early. Single looping level with completely different layout. - Ikari Warriors 2 - Ike Ike Hockey (Crash N the Boys Ice Challange) -- Unreleased - Iron Tank - Kitty's Catch w/multiple builds-- Unreleased - Klax - Krazy Kreatures - Low G Man - Mag Max - Magic Darts - Mappy Land - Marble Madness -- Set of four loose EPROMs - Megaman 2 -- Different than the released version - Milon's Secret Castle - Monster in my Pocket -- Extremely early 1 level demo - Ninja Gaiden III - Overlord - One on One --Set of four loose EPROMs - Pacman w/multiple builds -- Tengen version with differences - Power Punch 2 - Rad Racer 2 - Rally Bike - Rampart - RBI Baseball -- Licensed cart case with Atari PCB - Road Runner - SCAT - Snow Bros. - Solar Jetman - Solomon's Key 2 NTSC -- Unreleased - Spy Hunter - Spy Vs. Spy: The Island Caper -- Unreleased - Star Trek V -- Unreleased - Street Fighter 2010 - Super Gloveball - Super Talking Jeopardy - Super Turrican NTSC -- Unreleased - Tail Spin - Temo Bowl - Tecmo World Wrestling -- Two unique copies - Terra Cresta - Tetris: Tengen licensed by Nintendo version -- Unreleased - Tiger Heli - Tommy T's "Play Me" Sound Editor -- Unreleased NES music development tool - USA Bowling w/multiple builds -- Unreleased - Videomation - Wally Bear -- Early with noticeable differences - Wacky Races - Wheel of Fortune featuring Vanna White - Zombie Nation Thanks so much, let's make a deal!

Huh, really? I've got a healthy share of NES protos, I assume 2nd or 3rd largest collection around. You can see my list and my brother's list here: http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=35&threadid=24859 , though I have 9 more protos in transit. With 16 unreleased games, it's a decent collection That was a reference to the Chuck Yeager flight sim game. I believe he says that when you crash. Tempest Dude... I'm an idiot.

Where is the website detailing Nintendo protos? None that I know of, though there is plenty of bandwidth dedicated to the subject: http://www.neswarpzone.com/pst.html . Now kept up by National Game Depot, I pester him ever once in a while to let my brother and myself take over. http://www.unseen64.net/category/nin/nes/ . I've given a ton of information to Luca over the last few years, most notably in the articles found here: http://www.unseen64.net/2010/06/13/chuck-yeagers-fighter-combat-nes-cancelled/ , http://www.unseen64.net/2009/06/27/arcadia-vi-nes-cancelled/ , http://www.unseen64.net/2009/06/22/kittie-s-catch-nes-cancelled/ , http://www.unseen64.net/2008/11/08/hoppin-mad-nes-unreleased/ http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/categories.cfm?catid=35&entercat=y . Matt and I contribute much to this sub forum on NA, at one time releasing a free proto ROM to the community once a month. He still maintains the "Nes proto owners" and "other proto owners" section of the forum. http://www.nesworld.com/mirror/nr.htm . Though not specifically protos, more just about unreleased games, the information that Martin wrote here is one of the better resources for would-be NES games. I am in the process of scanning all of my protos for his databse at nesworld. Beyond those, I spend an awful lot of time talking about the subject on the DP forums proto forum, on Assembler forums, and a bit of time over at The Lost Levels. Hopefully someday I'll get around to maintaining a site dedicated to the subject myself. Edit: More specifically, if you were looking for the "who owns what" information that the OP was looking for, my link from The Warp Zone contains that information, though it is outdated. My brother's list aove on NA is about as close as you'd get to something current: http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=35&threadid=24859 , though it only contains information from those who want it known publically. For example, I have a list of much of what Dreamtr owns, but I'd be an ass to list it without his consent, and it's more than likely inaccurate as it has been some time since I received it. Van Halen recently outbid my on the Virus proto that ended for $2.3k the other day, but since he wasn't going around mentioning that info we didn't add it to the list. Fair enough?

When you say different group of people, do you mean that because I'm not known for protos to this community, that I'm not pestered by the people here as other Atari-based proto collectors are? That could definitely be possible, though I never thought of vg communities acting very differently to their own.
-
Different group of people. Tempest I'd say it's more likely a different time. No one got (rather, gets) more shit for "not" releasing protos than Dream (even though he's released countless protos over the years), and most of the animosity stems from his NES stuff. I just recently dropped $2.3k on Chuck Yeager's Fighter Combat and I have yet to get one nasty or demanding PM telling me what I "should" do with it. Plenty of comments about how people would love to be able to get their hands on the ROM (which they will), but nothing obnoxious.
-
Eh, I've never had many problems with people asking me to release my stuff, and I'm coming up on 100 NES protos soon. Granted, most of my stuff gets released over time, but I really don't find the random PM asking to release something every once in a while to be all that taxing. If there were a section with protos, I'd look through it.

Looking to sell a boxed Contra Force: Very nice shape overall, tried to snap pics of any damage to the box and cart. Some sticker residue and some wear on the box and a small nick on the cart label. Looking for $100 shipped for this one.

Bump! Many items sold, some good stuff with lower prices still left! I'll be adding more games over the long weekend, so keep an eye open!

Bump! Some items sold, many more still available. Keep those offers coming!

Bump with price drops on everything and a bunch of new stuff added! I am also fielding offers for Hoppin' Mad CE #2 and Kitty's Catch CE #2. I'm not thrilled about letting them go, but the sale of these two will help fund future protos and releases. I'm looking for $200 shipped each: SOLD!!! Sega Genesis Light Crusader Proto on long dev board for $75 shipped. Cool proto of a game I used to love as a kid, I just can't collect protos for too many systems: A Famicom lot next: Some of the best famicom exclusives in this lot including Kid Dracula, Splatterhouse, and Armadillo. Looking for offers on the lot or individual games. Famicom Games that are Sold: Kid Dracula Ikinari Musician Splatterhouse Armadillo Dragon Buster Banana Take the last 3 fami games for $20 shipped! Last, a factory sealed Toki: Some poking through the cello on the corners and it isn't the clearest copy you'll find as it has scuff marks and shelf ware on the packing. I assume it to be legit, but I've included some pictures of some things I find odd (Like the cello folding in the upper left corner) that may lead others to think otherwise. If anyone thinks a reseal, please feel free to let me know in this thread. $40 shipped will take this one.

I have to wait until I get home to update this thread, but I'm looking to add whole lot of stuff. First up, A factory sealed Wally Bear and the NO! Gang: Sold!!! The cello is in excellent shape and very clear. There doesn't appear to be any nicks or tears at all. There is some mild bowing of the box, but I assume that is due to the cheap materials. I'm looking for $85 shipped in the US for this one, but I'm always open to offers. Please check back when this thing is updated later tonight! Next up, Unreleased NES Game Arcadia VI: Looking for $750 shipped for this one. I paid $1,500 for it a while back, but it just isn't my thing. Some very interesting stuff on this one, surely a centerpiece to any collector's collection. Next, Unreleased (though an identical version is dumped) NES Game, Hoppin' Mad: This is one of only 2 known copies and was shown at a CES show some time back. Very cool piece and if I didn't already have another copy. Only looking for $300 shipped for this one, not a bad deal for an unreleased game if you ask me. Next up, a 3.5" floppy with the source code for Prince of Persia NES: This item is cool as hell. Prince of Persia was ultimately released by Virgin in 1992, this disk is from Broderbund and is dated early 1990! This disk works perfectly and all the information on it can be accessed, so I can sell it as guaranteed working. Looking for $150 shipped[b/] for this. Next up, Dinosaur Planet Media Binder: This game as many of you know was never released and was ultimately the last title developed by Rare in the form that we know and love. It later was changed and released as Starfox Adventure on the Gamecube. This contains a full storyline (with highlighting and notes from the editor) as well as a full retail plan and character bios. Looking to get $75 shipped for this one.

I took a sample vid using FCEUltra, but it ended up being a massive file (like 2 GB) for a very short video. I figure we'll release this soon enough that hopefully screen shots will suffice for the time being.

Unreleased LICENSED Tengen Tetris Proto!
MrMark0673 replied to MrMark0673's topic in Auction Central
And... Yanked from Ebay. If anyone was interested in it and wants to make an offer, I'm all ears. If not, I'll just hold onto it until I can get it out to the community. Thanks for all who were watching! -
Though it's a bit down the line, all of the above sounds about right. As with all the unreleased games my brother and I own, he said it best with this break down: "It will 100%, positively be reproduced, and the rom will be released for free after the fact. That's our ultimate goal for all such things. - We make some cash back, and a small profit for our work. - Collectors get a new snazzy game to put on their shelves. - Freeloaders still get the rom without having to drop any $. - The game is preserved and saved from obscurity. I know that the prototype community doesn't share the same view when it comes to the ethics behind releases, but Mark and I feel like this is the best way to go about doing it. " Couldn't have said it better myself. this one is higher on the priority list than some of the others, but we have another release we're finishing up first.

Add another unreleased NES game to my list! I just acquired this from an auction on Ebay and I've been able to mess around with it for a few hours now. Like all flight sims, the controls are pretty tough to get a hang of without a manual, but I picked them up soon enough. Pretty fun with just a minor glitch here and there (most notably at the title screen), and as far as I can tell it seems to be complete. Some screen caps and a shot of the PCB for those interested: The two things that continue to stand out for me are: - The digital voices. Every five seconds, Chuck says something bizarre like "Engage!" or "Out of Missiles" and my favorite "You call yourself a pilot?!" - The "polygon" graphics that I never thought I'd see on the NES. For the hardware, I can't believe they can pull it off. Sure, it's primitive next to something like Starfox, but not bad at all for the NES. Hope you guys enjoy, I'll be adding more stuff in the future!

If you could have any arcade machine in your house...
MrMark0673 replied to Ferret75's topic in Arcade and Pinball
An Egret II with Seimitsu buttons, Sanwa Sticks, running Street Fighter III: Third Strike. Second Choice: Ms. Pac Cabaret (with the speed upgrade) Third Choice: Hmm... Donkey Kong maybe? -
Move along, these are not the droids you are looking for.
MrMark0673 replied to Shawn's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I know I've said this a million times, but Shawn does better than top notch work when it comes to NES reproductions. Bump for a great seller -
Seen a few high end protos and similar items for sale on the bay lately, so I figured I'd test the waters myself. I think the listing pretty much sums it all up, Dream has a similar copy in a different stage of development and I know Martin has a Tengen Tetris proto, but I think Jason's copy and my own are the only two that are in he licensed by Nintendo phase. Anyway, I'm taking offers and I'll all ears, so let me know if anyone is interested! eBay Auction -- Item Number: 140405492819

Up for sale is a Psy-Q Genesis Flash Cartridge Programmer and Blank Psy-Q Flash Cart: The programmer is bare bones, and being such, is untested. It is in very good cosmetic shape and I was told it worked when it was last attempted, though I've never tried personally. The flash cart is an official Psy-Q cart with serial, but appears to have no information on it as it doesn't boot to anything when tested in a console. Both are sold as is. I am looking to get $275 shipped for the pair anywhere in the US, but I am also open to cash or trade offers. In regards to trades, I pretty much am only interested in NES protos that I don't own. My list can be found in the first post here: http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=35&threadid=24859 Feel free to ask any questions, and thanks for checking this out!

Hi folks, Just looking to grab some more NES protos and I was looking to trade some of my Gameboy stuff and a double of an unreleased NES game. First up, one of 2 known copies of Hoppin' Mad: $600 or Trade Offers This is my second copy of Hoppin' Mad, and to my knowledge no others have ever been seen/found/owned by a collector. This is the exact same build as my other copy (2 complete levels, a third playable level with no enemies, constant loop) and I think this one has a cooler label. I'm more attached to my first copy as it was the first unreleased game I purchased in the wild, so this one is up for grabs. Next up, the only known copy of the Unreleased Arcadia VI: $1,000 or Trade Offer Neat little multi-cart that never saw completion, you can find a bunch of info and screen caps that I've put together here: http://www.unseen64.net/2009/06/27/arcadia-vi-nes-cancelled/ I know the asking price may seem high, but I paid $1,500 for it maybe 2 years ago and it's not the type of game I can release the way that I'd like to. I'd love to trade it toward other NES protos, so I'm definitely open to offers. Next up, 2 Super Scrabble Gameboy protos on large dev carts: $80 shipped in the US each, Top Copy is SOLD!!! Appear to be the same build, and both appear finished though I cannot say for certain. The second one pictured has a sticker that I put on and has my handwriting on it. Next, another Super Scrabble proto and a Mousetrap Hotel proto on short dev carts: $60 shipped in the US each Same deal as before on the Super Scrabble, aside from the super cool dev case. The Mousetrap Hotel cart has what appears to marker that someone tried to take off that reads "Property of Milton Bradley" and the rest is illegible to me. Next, a blank long dev cart: $40 or Trade Offers What you see is what you get with this one. All of the long dev carts have a sticker with dip switch settings on the back. Last, 2 blank short Gameboy dev carts: Trade Offers One has a faded stamp that reads "confidential" and the other has the cool dev sticker again. The cart on the left is for a 28 pin EPROM, the left for a 32 pin EPROM. In regards to trades, I am looking for ANY NES proto stuff I can get my hands on that I don't already have. My list can be found here: http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=35&threadid=24859 I'm open to all trade offers, just let me know what you have and what you want and we can more than likely work something out. Feel free to ask any questions, thanks!

I wouldn't think this to be a Babbage's release with all of the French writing on it, though I could see these being imported. Anyone else have a Steel Talons in a blister pack? Just wondering if this one was known to have appeared in this sort of packaging before.
-
So I've never been much into the Lynx, but my brother stumbled across this game at a flea market and decided to pick it up: Now, I know that Steel Talons is about as common of a game as they come, but does anyone have any info on blister packed Lynx games? I've searched high and low, and I've seen one pic of a blister packed Batman, but not much else. Anyone have any background on these games? What about their rarity and desirability? Thanks for the help!
