Pardon me? Haven't we been down this route before? Just because YOU find it difficult to code on, doesnt mean a real programmer would. Trust me folks, there's no magic to jaguar coding. It's a 68000 with a nice sprite engine. And 2 RISC chips.

VirtualJaguar seems to be pretty solid if you avoid the RISC chips. And as I said, producing something Genesis/ST/Amiga quality (or better) doesn't need the RISCs, and is certainly not "hard to do" at all. It's DSP handling (audio) also seems to be ok although a *tad* slow

I'm sorry, but thats just plain wrong. It's no more difficult to code for than, say, the Megadrive (Genesis) or the Atari ST or Amiga. In fact, it's probably easier due to the powerful ObjectProcessor. All the documentation is also available these days, no NDA standing in your way. Anyone who can code on the above systems can code well on the Jaguar, one of the CPUs is the same - and no, you don't need to invoke the RISC chips to have a good game - a 14mhz 68000 can push object lists around well enough to have lots of on screen action (obviously not 3D). If the so called "gods of jaguar development" say otherwise then they are wrong. Maybe development has been so slow for other factors? Code tools cannot be one of them. Assembler is edited in Notepad, and the assembler/linker can run in a DOS shell. There have been ways to execute code on the jaguar for years now, and to be fair, VirtualJaguar will run a lot of stuff.
