Thought of comparing the difference between two different counters: one running in vblank and one in the main loop.
Or you could just check the raptor_ntsc flag 😀

Never code for an emulator. It's the emulators job to simulate the hardware, not your job as a coder to compensate for what doesn't really exist.

Because the emulator is faster than the real hardware.

There's a very comprehensive guide to port projects over to JagStudio so, no, you don't have to "start the whole thing over"
Considering there is no longer any support at all for rB+ you might want to invest some time reading that guide before posting questions that potentially are going to get ignored

COF and ABS files are the same thing with different names.

And all that said, take it to another thread, this is for the ports 😀

No.
Also:
Metrocross, IK+, Starglider II - Unfinished.
Llamatron / Mutant Camels - Released binaries are incomplete/unfinished - they are in the AtariAge store as Jeff Minter Collection.

Correct, the skunkboard locked ROMs have been updated to also detect the GD drive as a valid run option.

1 hour ago, Greg2600 said:Finally got the JagGD. Wanted to ask a general question on these. So I've got the old Smokemonster Everdrive pack, which had Jaguar set including retail, proto, demo, homebrew, etc, etc, and of course ST Conversions. In that folder many game roms are there in multiple forms. For instance, there's R-Type, which has a 1M "Atari ST" rom, a 4M "PD aka Playable Demo", and an "ST Conversion" dot rom. I tried them all, the smaller one runs okay but has no sound. The PD seems to run well, while the actual ST Conversion file runs too choppy.
I suppose I should just stick to the links via this thread? LOL! But they ought to run at the same performance level via JagGD as they would on say a cart (burned into ROM)?
Ok, thought this would come up. Lets do this just once and move on.
There are many packs of many of my binaries out there unapproved, or modified with wrong or random headers and filenames, with or without correct .mrq settings, bundled without asking for my permission - nothing I have released is PD, for example ... so with that said.
IF YOU DIDN'T GET IT FROM A DOWNLOAD LINK PROVIDED BY MYSELF, I AM NOT OFFERING OR PROVIDING ANY SUPPORT.
IF YOU ARE TRYING TO RUN PIRATED COPIES OF ANY OF MY GAMES (eg, REBOOTEROIDS, etc) I CERTAINLY WON'T OFFER YOU ANY ASSISTANCE - BUT I WILL *REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE*All good, carry on

A few days... plus several months working on Slayer and Chex. Its all built on other things learned during the project

Just now, Mr SQL said:the emu is helpful for quick tests but I could test exclusively on real hardware with the SuperCharger or the PlusCart pretty effectively and don't need it for debugging since Tron works better or just as well. The emu is useful but OG's don't need it.
Do you call your garage band the Beatles?
Says the guy with SQL in his name
I see I'm going to have to turn off notifications for this...
I think its great that 2600 veterans are making new games. However, they don't have to trample over the people who have kept things alive in order for them to be able to do so - which is what their comments ammounted to in that interview. (In my opinion)

Albert does an amazing job, but he is still buying old carts and refurbishing them, and there is still a lot of delay in the game release schedule because he can only handle so much.
We in the Jaguar community have seen first hand what happens when you design a box and cart shell before a game.

According to them they wrote all their own because "there are no tools" - like we've been living in a void for 20 years, LOL.
I found that whole thing disingenuous to watch, especially saying nobody 'publishes' games professionaly when this very site does that. Had to turn if off mid way through - so maybe they mellowed later on, but if they don't consider what they do "homebrew" then what are they doing on ZPH ?
The game looks good, but then again $140 buys you 2-4 much better looking ones from the AA store.
I'd suggest 2600 homebrew authors legally change their name to "David Crane" just so they can add $70 to the retail price

10 hours ago, zzip said:but seeing how it's got a 68000 that runs almost twice as fast as the ST, and most ST games don't even use blitter, what causes the slowdown?
OK, explaining once more and for the last time.
If you enjoy staring at a blank, silent screen, then nothing is causing slowdown.
There's no ACIA, MFP, Shifter, GLUE, YM/FDC, GEM, TOS, BIOS, XBIOS, AES, KEYBOARD(!), etc, etc in the Jaguar. And the 68000 code isn't even a straight port as they'll be waiting on chipset flags, or writing to the SR register, or.. or.. or... or...
Now, I don't know if you have or not, but if, lets say "someone" said these are "cheap, lazy ports" and you believed it, then think again. Sorry if this sounds harsh, tired of repeating it.

1 minute ago, Jagosaurus said:@CyranoJ, assuming you test on Skunk/Alpine vs emu? You test at all in VJ?
I develop mostly in VJ, testing on a Jaguar GD after major changes or before a release to the test group (Was a skunkboard... but that is utterly redundant now!)

LMFAO.
You try getting them to run at full speed or greater with enhancements without using that.

That isn't a combo button. It's done in software and 100% optional.
