  1. I'll post more at a later time because I'm on a phone at the moment. Working on updating this to api 2.0 and fixing up a bunch of things and adding stuff with some other people. More soon.
  2. There's also a large group of totally ignorant youtube 'experts' who think the 64 in the documentation means it can compete with the gamecube - and have thus raised a generation of people who believe the same and have expectations beyond all reality. - Everyone only used the 68000 (myth) - GPU in main will fix everything (myth) - The console is faster than the PSX (myth) - The console was hard to develop for (myth) - The bugs in the hardware cripple the system totally (myth) I could go on and on with 'facts' repeated ad-nausium that are utterly incorrect, but there's no point, and its Xmas Day. It's a fun console. Enjoy it for what it is, not spending your senior years waiting for what you think it could be (whatever the hell that is)... the cool-aid bottles are long empty... they're just full of fumes now.
  3. Still waiting for it to render the first game frame
  4. We have a winner! Contratulations, Clint!
  5. Updated my post above with further instructions.... Let's draw a line under all this now
  6. OK, lets fix this once and for all... The problem here is that no matter what you do, the original RAPTOR.O file sets it back (because I stupidly left code in there for the Jagtopus board *and* called the MemoryTrack routines! We were doing CD releases at the time, so......) Hex search the original raptor.o file for: $33c0 00f0 0000 replace it with $4e71 4e71 4e71 Remove *any* and *all* references to MEMCON1 in any part of your projects (do a 'find in files') Also, search for the following in raptor.o $4eb9 0000 2ae0 4eb9 Replace the FIRST and ONLY THE FIRST $4eb9 with $6004 This will 100% disable MemoryTrack (Which was causing the problems - but as you are making carts, you can't have MT anyway) Now, do a rebuild and all should be fine.
  7. Until you reset the animloop and cur_frame values, and then set sprite_active again. Your solution above is better though.
  8. Wrong. The thing holding it (CDs) back is only having 2mb of direct access memory. Rebooteroids/Last Strike/Gravitic Mines, quite a few of the ports, and several other homebrew games would not be possible on CD due to using data directly from ROM.
  9. Maybe some with REBOOT on the back (But I guess we'd settle for an AtariAge logo, lol)
  10. Calling @SCPCD to the MiSTer framework
  11. The mister jaguar core is hopelessly broken and quite useless in its current state.
  12. So... from before I got a 1050 A.C.E. (Being able to verify a tape save was invaluable!) And then after... 1. DOS 2.5 (Because the drive came with DOS 3, there was no internet, and who knew it was a POS!) 2. Atari BASIC 3. Typo-II 4. Happy Backup 5. OmniMon
  13. There is very little 'overhead' difference between assembler and basic in regard to setting up a display and animating/moving it around as long as RAPTOR is doing the animations and movement, as all that happens automagically in the GPU core. Where the performance hits come from using basic are loops and game logic, although if the compiler was a bit smarter I'm sure it'd give some assembler coders a good run for their money in some optimization cases! Other tricky things to do in basic: Custom interrupt code and tasks that require direct hardware banging. API 2.0 adds a load of features to bypass these issues (like high-speed blitter array processing) but they are not available to rB+ currently.
  14. Sad part in all this is they're obviously on AtariAge as that's where all the files came from. So they know exactly how people feel about this.
  15. It's only worth the effort if you can get three strikes and take them out. Otherwise... be selfish, or lock releases. Never make CDs, too easy a target.
  16. Someone will. And they'll keep selling it, because someone else will. Welcome to the club.
  17. So, as people are opening... I gave in... Open the box.... This will be fun! A not so secret Santa. Tom, for what we are about to look at, thank you so much! Let's empty this out... Also inside the box we find... A really nice T-Shirt and a nice warm long-sleeve (Which will be really handy, in Winter here in Oz it gets freaking COLD!) If we were done at this point I'd be more than happy, but no.... Jaguar pens, a Jaguar coin... Keyrings and a pin! Lynx notebook.... Jaguar notebook..... Atari folder with some Jaguar comics! Stickers and some other vynil Jaguar logos.... At this point, I'm feeling overwhelmed... but then we find this.... Emptying this out..... Dust covers... DOOM shotglasses! A rather excellent Jaguar watch, some Jaguar and Lynx hats... patches.... And a bunch of other small goodies far too much to list. I don't know what to say... Tom, THANK YOU. I'm speechless about this and your generosity. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU again. It has been a pretty rough year (I'm sure for everyone) - this... really helped more than you'll know. Merry Xmas to all! .. and now to watch the rest of the un-boxings with a tear in my eye. Count me in for next year.
  18. Yes, with the tv volume controls 😀 No offence taken, all good.
  19. Yes, that is v4. Yes, the second thing is technically possible, but no, it won't be done: this can also play on a Skunkboard and will end up as part of a multi-cart down the road. That would cause insta-crash. modules would need to be played from RAM after they are loaded from mSD, and RAM use is heavily managed. What if someone slapped a 1.7mb MOD in there? its a free* game what if someone put an unlicensed module on there, made a video, and then I got hastled by the author for putting it in my game? Music in a game annoying you? Turn the volume down and throw your own tunez on another device in the room. I don't need any of the above adding stress to what is meant to be a fun mini-game release. * Freeware, NOT "Public Doman" don't use free as an excuse to be an utter c**k-womble and sell copies
  20. We will most certainly be running some high-score competitions for both Last Strike and a few of the games in reBOOTed in the new year once people have started to receive them!
