  1. Ok here is my Stacy. This is not the same one I bought from you FastRobPlus, It is a 1MB with a bright screen! I will take a pic of the screen when I have time.... I knew that. That's why I didn't ask for a pic of my Stacy. My only regret is selling that universal PSU with it. I like it better than the stock Stacy supply. Oddly, I came across and bought another Stacy2 with working HDD, FDD, etc. and snapped it up cheap. Still has a very dim screen. I may just send this one into B&C for a new screen. Stacys with good screens in the wild are very rare indeed.
  2. I want to give PC World the benefit of the doubt that the list is not simply about the capabilities or revolutionary features of the individual machine, but the impact on the economic landscape or the way they changed folks interaction with computers overall. So from that point of view, I agree the Apple II should be at or near the top. My one true love, the Amiga 1000 seems about right at #7. And this at least helps me to understand how systems like the Shuttle and Area 51 would be on the list – they represent shifts in the physical way computers were used, but I have to say some of the contributions seem weak in the overall equation. I’m not a huge C64 fan, but lets be honest: The C64 taught the industry about competition. Modeling a computer whose design was continually cost reduced to stay competitive over an entire 5-year computer lifetime was Jack Trammel’s legacy and has had a greater impact than is generally acknowledged by the industry today.
  3. I didn't like it either, but my son got Sonic for the Leapster. That's actually a pretty good Sonic game.
  4. Sadly, mine are all in boxes. Where's your Stacy?
  5. I have not tried them, but I hear the earlier Sierra games and Origin Ultima 4 and 5 support MIDI on the ST. Considering that none of those games really push the ST or Amiga's graphic or sound hardware at all, it seems likely that with a good MIDI keyboard the ST versions would have better audio.
  6. Sort of... A while back a guy sold me his inventory of prototype SCSI flash drives. I think he intended to produce a limited run for classic Mac enthusiasts but never did. Anyway, these things are ADTX SCSI to IDE bridges with a custom connector into an IDE-to-CF converter. In the converter is a 128 MB CF card. I tried one of these on my Amiga 2000's SCSI controller and it worked great! I have a Stacy 2 and see no reason why it should not work with that system's SCSI controller. I just don't have an HDD software or practical ST HDD experience to test the theory. Anyway, the AEC sounds like a similar device to the ADTX. It should work, but I suppose there are a lot of X-factors involved.
  7. My Grandmother got an Atari VCS on or near the date of its launch. She was looking for a game for my Grandfather while he was recovring for surgery (I think) and asked for an airplane board game or puzzle, and the store clerk showed her air-sea battle. I seem to remember getting a Lynx on its first day, or at least week-end. And an Xbox and an Xbox 360 a few weeks before thier official launch dates in the US.
