  1. The Atari ET documentary app should now be available for download on Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It's free (ad supported) but I've lowered the number of ads to just one at the outset.
  2. That Atariage losers page is adorable! I hope our Amiga brothers and sisters merit a similar page!
  3. Anyone around have an Xbox 360? Will you test something for me? I need to see if an ad plays smoothly before any episode of "Five Fingers" in the video app "Viki"

Going to bed in a minute, but if you still need this tomorrow please send me a PM and I'll be glad to help.

  4. Good question! I'll ask the organizers when I see 'em. I do know they intend to podcast from the show, but I will be manning the bitplanes booth and won't get to see Ed Fries' talk. I also want a VOD solution.
  5. Just noticed this thread. I would peg the value at 100-200. I just sold the cassette version for that LINK I can say thet the game was advertised in Creative Computing and as far as I was able to tell, if a direct port of Colossal Cave. Atarimania's info is a bit scattered, but it appears that the Creative version was the main one. I love how your package also contains a bug fix!
  6. One thing that took me a long time to realize: The dark dystopian burnt-out future was the PRESENT! I thought that it was meant to be the future/near future, and I expected Wolvie to shift between the past, the preset and the future.
  7. As the title says. Does anyone have a working 820 to sell? Sorry for posting here. I know many folks don't check the wanted section. Thanks!
  8. Hi Bill, I used that extensively as a control. I loved his idea about getting numbers from quarterly earnings reports. Unfortunately, I have had very little luck in finding any. My primary source is similar to what started this topic - sales figures from magazines. Creative Computing actually dedicated an entire monthly page to this for a while.
  9. I've been working on aggregating year over year console and home computer sell-thru rates for a while and am always hunting for new sources of data. Apple II appears to have reached the 4-5 million mark and Atari 8-bit 2.5. Interestingly, if you chart it out, you see that at any given time, nearly all of the computers had their time as "one of the top 3" It looks like in nearly every instance where the home computer didn't become one of the top 3, it's because the manufacturer knew that they could not break into one of the top spots and pulled the plug on the machine. I could really use help fleshing out the numbers, particularly for non-US systems. This is where I've gotten so far: consolebase.xls
  10. The 1200XL is the sexiest console micro, and the Amiga 1000 is the sexiest desktop micro. Not sure about handheld, laptop, or mini/workstation/full computer.
  11. I finally got an SIO2SD and was able to try this technique to update Incognitio. I can attest that COLD /N was required to get the file to load cleanly (all other methods caused it to load to a grey screen) Anyway, carts now work great - even Congo Bongo!

I'm excited about this one. I backed it as soon as it came up, and it's already funded.

  12. I was going through some papers the other day and came across my old MSCE certification test results. I was thinking about how outdated all that knowledge has become in just a few years(Setting up an IBM Token Ring? Forcing WfW clients to talk to Netware?) And this got me thinking about what an IT certification test for an old platform like an Apple II or TRS-80 might have looked like if they had 'em back then, I thought the idea was interesting enough that I put together a sample exam for Amiga computers in the style of a CNE/A+/MCP exam. I think it turned out looking and feeling more or less identical to those types of exams. So - is anybody brave enough to see if they would pass an Amiga certification exam? http://www.thebitplanes.com/archives/283
  13. Very nice! This vid was also making the rounds in email tis AM with the Retro gaming club at Microsoft.
  14. BUMP for my request to buy a disk with the executable BIOS file on it.
  15. There's some great info there, but I don't think it will help unless you can get FDISK and the other tools initially loaded without the use of SIDE.
  16. So... I've got an 800 with Incognitio, an 800 without an incognitio, SIO cables, 3 tape drives, two floppy drives, floppy disks, a CF card, a USB CF card reader for my Amiga, a drinking straw, and a light gun. Using these things, is there any way I can transfer the incognitio bios ATR file to the tape or floppies so I can flash the bios and play Space Harrier from Cart? Or will I have to buy a one-time use SIO-to-something adapter?
  17. I can confirm that real floppies work with my Incognito. I can load anything when auto-booting and I can browse files when I have SDX enabled. I don't know enough about SDX to be able to do anything other than call up a DIR...
  18. I'll paypal $20 to anyone who can mail me a disk with that bios atr file on it.
  19. Does this mean that the bios should update my incognito if I could get the file onto a floppy?
  20. Hmm.. I've tried mounting the incognito bios ATR file in SIDE, but the act of doing this disables something in the OS, causing the Atari to go to a ready prompt rather than load SDX
  21. Would anyone be willing to sell me a disk with the executable file already on it?
  22. I have owned and subsequently sold nearly every game on that list.
