they could fly into vegas and stay on the strip and rent a car to go to laughlin. (theres also tours that go that way too) laughlin is a pretty nice place I've been there plus theres other things there too. http://enjoylaughlin.com Dan Iacovelli

according what joe sent on the list they are looking to get more guest speakers (game developers) to come thats why they want move the show to cali. if trhey move from freemont to laughlin,nv they might be able to get people from california since laughlin is close to california. Dan Iacovelli

I meant it's boarding Arizona and California and on the the banks of the Colorado River. my bad Dan Iacovelli

I just posted my thoughts about the move from NV to Cal for CGE on their mailing list. I also mentioned Laughlin,NV which is on the boarder of NV,Colorado and California right off the boulder river. (what got me: was that joe never heard of Sams town or laughlin,NV and CGE was in Vegas for six years, and I've been to vegas about 4 times and I've been to both locations) Dan Iacovelli

I still have those boxes. In fact if some of you went to VGS you would have seen the spiderman,Reactor, and Gi joe cobra strike boxes(In good condition) I had others there too I think. Dan Iacovelli

Hack-O-Matic ][ - A better, faster way to hack
Dan Iacovelli replied to Random Terrain's topic in Atari 2600
AHD doesn't have color change in it but Laz is working in it with version 2. about HOM2 new version: looks good haven't tried anything yet with it but I will as soon as I get a chance. Dan Iacovelli -
I was talking to my sibs about the possible move from Vegas to SF. and my bro said if the cost of the room rental is the probelm why don't they just move the show further off the strip like sams town. thats good poiont because since your further you won't have to worry about the prices of the room I figure that place like sams town would charge less then the main places . my two cents. Hack-O-Matic ][ - A better, faster way to hack

cavelevel, I think Kepone is one us 2600 homebrew programers that also read the 2600 programing thread you can figure what it looks like. Dan Iacovelli (call me Dan ) -
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't CES and Comdex held in Vegas? Comdex has a massive massive attendance, so I'm sure that if they can handle Comdex they can handle CGE. I just said about two posts ago. Dan Iacovelli

Hack-O-Matic ][ - A better, faster way to hack
Dan Iacovelli replied to Random Terrain's topic in Atari 2600
Did you do all of that with Hack-O-Matic ][ or with AHD? If you did it using Hack-O-Matic ][' date= that's amazing because I can understanding hunting down shapes and changing them, but doing more than that using Hack-O-Matic ][ would be much harder. I think he did it with HOM 2,because you can't change colors with AHD (at least not until version 2 comes out) Like I said before it can be done if you look for it (usally it's the forth address after the sprite or playfield) I think it can be done, but then you need a assemebler to convert .bas to bin or if it's just striaight txt like distella does when you disassemble a program then you need a assemebler that undertstands the basics comnads to make a .bin. any other thoughts. Didn't work for me. Maybe my jagboot.rom is bogus. (But it worked with the other two emulators.) It'd be nice if mess actually gave an error number or something. you could the roms by clicking on the audit in the file menu it checks if your roms are bad. Dan Iacovelli
-
did you try loading a game rom. just because it states it not working it doesn't mean that all games will work just some won't and some will. I got AvsP to work. Dan Iacovelli

where is this coming from that CGE is leaving Vegas. if that happens I won't be going CGE next time. I know that vegas isn't kid oriented(sp) but it's the best location for CGE it works wonders for CES and Comdex why ruin a good thing. my two cents. Dan Iacovelli

cave, it kind of sounded that way but it's no big. as for AHD laz said that the next version he's doing is going to do color changing (he ran into a few snags along the way but he hopes to have it fixed by mid august) Still HOM][ is still a good improvemt on the orginal. Hack-O-Matic ][ - A better, faster way to hack
Dan Iacovelli replied to Random Terrain's topic in Atari 2600
Right now Hack-O-Matic ][ just lets you quickly load in a game, scroll down and change the shapes of images, numbers, and company logos, then save it and use it immediately. You can't change colors. I don't know much about AHD, but it sounds interesting, and it might become a really good program, but from the few things I have read, isn't it still a little bit of a mess? Unless what I read about AHD is old, I don't think you can load any bin file, make changes, save it, and play it immediately using an emulator. When AHD works with just about any bin file and doesn't require any preparation, then it will be very useful. I did say that AHD can't do many games. and yes H-O-M ][ does load all bins fast (I tried with tempest 2600 and it loaded it fast) the one thing about HOM ][ is that if you don't know what your looking for in graphics that it will be hard to find. (as for color changing: theres a real long way to go about it (as long you know what to look for in a disambled game) all in all very good improvement to the orginal. Dan Iacovelli -

I still like AHD becuse it's easy to use (yes, I know you can't do too many games in it though but I think laz is working on that). it would help if H-O-M II had instructions on how to change some items (like color) it might help. Dan Iacovelli -
it's good that CGE has a good attendence being after AGE. I was just wonding how did the Jagfest area go at CGE. Dan Iacovelli

Me thinks Inky's been watching too much Svengoole on chicago TV station CH.26. (For those who don't who svengoolie is: he is a local horror host in chicago (which started in 70's on differnt channel) and he usally gets hit by a bunch of rubber chickens at the end of the show after he tells the closing "Bad" joke) Dan Iacovelli
