  1. one quick note: the trip to safariland was cancled at last minute since I figured that we didn't have a firm confirmation on it and I didn't feel it would be right to collect the money.(plus we didn't have enough people interested in it anyways)

  2. just want to say despite a low turn out the first annual VGS turned out pretty good.

(once again I forgot to bring my digicamera, but I belive some others took pictures though)

saddlythe schedule I had planned orginally didn't come out good

I still have lots of items left over.

it was good to see goat store and rpm-games. we had two people with tables outside the room. my orginal planned layout was passed soI just  if people neeed the power  and placed them by the outlets.

we did have three winners for touneys:

Dan loosen was the big winner of the jagfest prize package(AUN t-shirt,30.00 Giftcertificate from pack rat vg and a copy of the DP collectors guide)

others winners was paul zimmerman who won the space treat competition

(copy of space treat delux and a Atari age t-shirt)

Rob M won the 2k2 mwc edition of warring worms and an atari age t-shirt

(he didn't enter but he played space treat and I figured since nobody entered the Warring worms tourney  I figured give the person who came in second in space treat)

Tom L had his Lynx collection displayed and brought a good drawl to jagfest area.

it was good hear bud melvin play his banjo along with his gameboy.

    bohus had a good display.

over all it was pretty good for a first time for show.

(theres a chance I might have it again next year)

I'll have a full report up on my website in a three or four days.

  5. I don't think Carl is intentionally trying to overshadow the other JagFest stops (otherwise he could've announced this stuff long ago to discourage attendance at the other events), it just seems like he's putting a lot of effort into getting exclusive new content to the CGE Fest. There's nothing stopping other organizers from doing the same!

I know, I do what I can for the fests I'm heading up(MWC and VGS)

while fest at MWC was more down scaled,Fest at VGS will make up for that.

I really hope fest at CGE goes well.

if you pre-paid or reserved a table you are guaranteed a table inside

(the people who didn't reserve or pre-pay you will get a choice of the remaining tables)

  9. The first computer I heard speech on was the TI-99/4A...sometime in 81-82.  Just construct a simple BASIC program and the TI would speak anything you wanted it to.

...and don't forget the 'Speak and Spell'.

a quick correction on that statement:

to enable speech on the TI, you either need an ti-extened basic cart, Assembly language cart, or a Termial Emulator cart. the basic in the computer it self would let you do speech.

I know this because most of my games I progromed in Xbasic have speech (including laserman).

  10. There's this used game store in my town called RePlay.  Been in there before, and they didn't have much of a selection a few years ago.  Went in there last nigh...  WOW!  They have just about EVERYTHING these days, including Dreamcast and 3D0!  And a great selection of 2600 (they 52 and lynx selection could be better though)

Man it's an awesome store!  They even had a pirate SNES console and games fror sale!  Neat stuff!

where I live there isn't many stores like that(it's mostly in schiller park or ariglton park(sp) ).

and one more thing: you didn't tell the manager about VGS .

    Dan Iacovelli

  11. Joe,

table sales are pretty good total of 13 (counting my 3) out of 50 are set.

(11 are paid for 2 are being reserved to be paid at the show).

as for GA, we didn't as many as I wanted(I figure that we will get people

at the door(I posted a mention on cable comunity bulliten board here in IL for my area so that should bring some people plus we got a mention in the chicago suntimes friday section coming up)

I'm not planning it to be big as CGE more like the size of MWC.

argh, you had to remind about the colectors guides!!

I think I have few ideas for giving them away as prizes.

    Dan Iacovelli

(yes I'l have a report onthe show afterwords(with pictures if I remeber to bring the digicam)

I didn't notice when I went there to look at rooms, I just saw A&B (right across from the deli)I did noticerooms on the upper level and I figured that was the other rooms.

    Dan Iacovelli

  15. I think that room is located on the upper level.(A&B (which is the rooms VGS is using) are on the lower level)

  17. Gentlemen!

I was quite busy lately so unfortunately i've disappeared for a while... But please keep in mind that i'm NOT abandoning the development of AHD OR this forum...

    thats good to hear lazz

First of all, congrats for the new hacks made by Dan Iacovelli (great job with the plane / missile!) and Dr. Dwack! It's good to see that you guys are actually using the AHD... :-)

thanks lazz, the hack is sort based on my second but unfinished game I did on TI-99/4a. I didn't want to call it laserman 1.5 though or just laser man, because the first laserman game is sort based on the tempest and space invaders is which I did on the TI. which mostly explains the story of laserman. and also since this is the first time laserman is done for the 2600 calling it 1.5 would sound dumb since the first one wasn't shown yet.

so I decided to call it laserman2k3. (the main reason why I made the orginal laserman game for the TI was because ther was no tempest game for the TI and I loved pl;aying tempest that it would be cool to make a simlar game for the TI). re: the plane /missile that one of the hardest things to fix for the game (the other was the cart/robot basicly had the simalr problem) thanks for the complement btw.

    For the news:

    1) I'm finishing the ".AHD how to", it will be posted on this forum this afternoon;

    2) Dan Boris allowed me to distribute 2600gfx together with AHD... YEAH! 8)

    3) The creation of new .AHD files is "on hold" for this week, but i've already prepared 3 new ones and i'll finish a little pack for the next week ;)

    4) The ".AHD auto generator" will take a little longer to develop, i'm currently working on a bigger thing for AHD... :P

    5) What in hell is Pele doing on Donkey Kong? Does it suggests that AHD v. 0.2b will have some basic color changing?!?  :ponder:   :D

YES! I'm finishing basic color changing on AHD... Can't wait to release it! :)

    Regards,

    Lazzeri

Lazz, thats great to hear about the improvments in the AHD.

    can wait to see it.

    Dan Iacovelli

  18. Hi,

Yes, my wife and I are planning to attend.  Anything you want us to bring?

    Harry

    Harry,

if you want to bring stuff you can.

if you need a table let me know. (so far we have 11 tables paid for(3 of which are mine of couse) and 2 are being reserved to be paid for at the show. we still have plenty left(but I think next week thats going change since I put a mention the comunity BB on our local cable system which is scheduled to be shown on july 8th)

    Dan Iacovelli

(I hate potato salad(I can't stand mayo, even though I eat it when on a whopper)

  19. Just to let you know that general admission is now at $8.00 per person.

you can still pay online for GA(as well as for tables).

(if you reserved your tables to be paid at the door then you don't

have to worry) Deadline for online payments are:

    GA-july 11th Tables -july 10th.

    Dan Iacovelli

  20. like I said I lowered the graphics on the plane to make it work.

if you noticed on the orginal game the bi-plane has a hook on the bottom

of it, so I first decided to make  the missile with hook but that dind look right so I lowered the missile to level of the hook on the plane on the orginal. and that worked.

    Dan Iacovelli

heres a pic with the sed missile(being above the floor):
