A quick update about the show coming this saturday: 1st. we will have two main vendors at the show, Goat Store.com from WI(if you missed feet of fury at MWC, you get another chance to see it and play it at VGS) and RPM-Games(Gravity ball will be demoed, and they will be selling loadstar complete(a C64 magazine on CD (all 199 issues on one CD) plus we will have indiviuals selling there own stuff and we hope to have some sort of museum (not as big as MWC or CGE but we do plan to have somthing) plus live music from bud melvin and his banjo and game boy. a quick correction on that statement: to enable speech on the TI, you either need an ti-extened basic cart, Assembly language cart, or a Termial Emulator cart. the basic in the computer it self would let you do speech. I know this because most of my games I progromed in Xbasic have speech (including laserman). Dan Iacovelli

where I live there isn't many stores like that(it's mostly in schiller park or ariglton park(sp) ). and one more thing: you didn't tell the manager about VGS . Dan Iacovelli

Joe, table sales are pretty good total of 13 (counting my 3) out of 50 are set. (11 are paid for 2 are being reserved to be paid at the show). as for GA, we didn't as many as I wanted(I figure that we will get people at the door(I posted a mention on cable comunity bulliten board here in IL for my area so that should bring some people plus we got a mention in the chicago suntimes friday section coming up) I'm not planning it to be big as CGE more like the size of MWC. argh, you had to remind about the colectors guides!! Just a quick update: Video Game Summit is this Saturday. You can still purcahse your tables and /or Genral addmission online (cut off dates: GA July 11th, Tables July 10th) and for those who wish to hang out after the show We are planning to hang out a local ammusemt place called safari land (see above message for information(we are going for package #3 ,I'm going to contact the place tomarrow set it up(this is optional since most poeple may not want to go here or have to get back home) Dan Iacovelli

yeah they gave the brochure of the hotel (in fact I got the rooms layout in the yahoo group under photos(alsong with the pic of the tables) under VGS photos) I didn't notice when I went there to look at rooms, I just saw A&B (right across from the deli)I did noticerooms on the upper level and I figured that was the other rooms. actually you should try AHD it's a bit better for hacking games. you can only hack a small handfull of games right now. Dan Iacovelli

I think that room is located on the upper level.(A&B (which is the rooms VGS is using) are on the lower level) Dan Iacovelli ps. if your looking for a good buffet to eat afterwords your show I would recomend China buffet in the north park mall (they have a good mongolian food they fry it them selves on the spot you just pick out what you want(beef,chicken or pork and the fixining and tell the cook what kind of sauce you want and he will fry it right there)

thats good to hear lazz thanks lazz, the hack is sort based on my second but unfinished game I did on TI-99/4a. I didn't want to call it laserman 1.5 though or just laser man, because the first laserman game is sort based on the tempest and space invaders is which I did on the TI. which mostly explains the story of laserman. and also since this is the first time laserman is done for the 2600 calling it 1.5 would sound dumb since the first one wasn't shown yet. so I decided to call it laserman2k3. (the main reason why I made the orginal laserman game for the TI was because ther was no tempest game for the TI and I loved pl;aying tempest that it would be cool to make a simlar game for the TI). re: the plane /missile that one of the hardest things to fix for the game (the other was the cart/robot basicly had the simalr problem) thanks for the complement btw. Lazz, thats great to hear about the improvments in the AHD. can wait to see it. Dan Iacovelli

Harry, if you want to bring stuff you can. if you need a table let me know. (so far we have 11 tables paid for(3 of which are mine of couse) and 2 are being reserved to be paid for at the show. we still have plenty left(but I think next week thats going change since I put a mention the comunity BB on our local cable system which is scheduled to be shown on july 8th) Dan Iacovelli (I hate potato salad(I can't stand mayo,even though I eat it when on a whopper)

Just to let you know that general admission is now at $8.00 per person. you can still pay online for GA(as well as for tables). (if you reserved your tables to be paid at the door then you don't have to worry) Deadline for online payments are: GA-july 11th Tables -july 10th. Dan Iacovelli

like I said I lowered the graphics on the plane to make it work. if you noticed on the orginal game the bi-plane has a hook on the bottom of it, so I first decided to make the missile with hook but that dind look right so I lowered the missile to level of the hook on the plane on the orginal. and that worked. that was the problem exactly with the plane. it kept having the bar your mentioned. that was real pain to fix plus when I had that fixed then I saw that the top of the kop wasn't touching the missile I had to modify the hat so the tip would touch the missile(which also why I lowered the missile because the if I left it in the place it was it wouldn't work out) Dan Iacovelli

I did forget to mention: I already have a city search link set up at vgs website (click on the vgs links button, it will take you to the yahoo groups links page there are three things listed, sponsors links folder, quality inn and suites link from choice hotels and the city search link) if you click on that it will list the hotel with a small list of links that will take you to places near the hotel. about safariland: they offered the deals and bowling,pizza and video games are cool. We don't have to do if we don't want too. Webbergrill might be costly(plus there might me be some us who don't have ride(me for example,but my sibs are driving me to the hotel and back) and if we do want burgers and talk for less expensive theres a mickey d's and bk right next door to hotel. my 2 cents. Thanks, my main problem though was the missile had to figure how make sure that it will work the similar way as the orginal. I orignally cut the hat on kop down to look like a hair cut but that didn't work so I lowered it down a bit and changed the hat so it will touch the missile. I think that it might be the file size content (I noticed that the hack had 4110k instead of the standard 4096k) resaved the program using pcaewin to save it as a 4096k. this file might work laserman.zip
