Las Vegas Classic Gaming Expo - worth seeing?
Dan Iacovelli replied to RCmodeler's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Well I went to CGE twice 2000 and 2002 and I had fun both times. where else do you get to see programers from yesteryear and play arcaeds like tempest or major havoc. in the words of Jim Ross: "CGE is the granddady of all of gaming trade shows". it will be worth the trip. Dan Iacovelli -
thanks inky for the that post: he could also check down the events page and look for the The video game summit topic. (btw: keep looking at thst topic I should have news soon about a local sponsor) Dan Iacovelli

Gustar (Mat), For the record I brought most of my Jaguar games including tempest 2k but the thing is I wanted to show protector SE so people could enter the tourney (like I did for robosquash). thats why I stayed by my table mostly if somebody asked if I got a certine game I'll just check in my bag and if I do I'll put in.(I also msot of my CD games too(I also had native up for while too)) as for the VGS show: the lynx display will be big (unless Tom L has other plans ) and I'll have inky helping out at my table and bohus will be showing off some of his stuff also. (any help is welcomed though) Dan Iacovelli

I too was also there. I showed BI/WN(I didn't have instuctions but it went ok) Played Primal age on my Jaguar Cd. Matthew baker (gustar) won the AUN t-shirt playing robosquash comlynxed against me(other people played also but didn't have their name entered) He also won the Protecor SE tournery (but since I figured that I'm doing the same tourney for VGS, I' figured to carry the tourney to VGS,so if didn't have a chance to win a AUN shirt you get chance at VGS) What was that music coming from the Jagfest section? It was Weird Al yankovic I had a chance to play both Weird Al CD's (Running with scissors and poodle hat (I played the saga begins and about the pentiums from RWS CD and I played all the way through on the PH CD) there wasn't any Jag net happing(not enough jags was available) and we only could comlynx roboquash since that was the only game that one person gave me with with lynx that I had( thanks torgo). I couldn't play any thing in the museum or anywere else since I had to be by my stuff most of the time with nobody else to help) Over all the jagfest area was pretty good turn out I also had the pleasure to sit next to terrence willams showing off mad bodies and gorf pluz both cool games. The Us Tour contiues next month at VGS, in lombard,IL hope to see you there. Dan Iacovelli (I was surprised that there wasn't no food avaible except for the snack table and vending machines)

I was going through my jaguar stuff I'm bringing to MWC and I came across an newsletter that atari made in sept. '93 called Cat Rap. what it was actually a newsletter that was sent out to stores and developers I believe. does anybody else have this newsletter or am I the only one who has it(thanks to connections with atari back in 90's) Dan Iacovelli (Ps. I'm going be bringing it to MWC and VGS for those who want to see it)

I know that feeling: VGS being my first show as well, I mostly looked for a big space but at low cost (I have 2160sqft for VGS table sizes are 2 by 5(5 feet long)). I have thought doing free admission and charge for tables but I figured that if we charge low cost it would help the cause a bit more. again good luck your show. Dan IAcovelli

Check out the MWC website and thier forums. (you meanwe get to talk to each other before VGS(I'm going be to MWC this year as well) rob, I checked out on pcaewin: looks great hope to see it at VGS as well. Dan Iacovelli

your site look good, and I wish you luck on your show. looking at the confrece room layout and details it looks kind of small to me. Dan Iacovelli ps. thanks for the plug for VGS(if you wanted to use the VGS graphic instead of the Word art graphic let me know)

Inky, we will have a couple atari computers at the show since SCAT has brought two tables. they are bringing a 130XE (8-bit) and a 16/32 Falcon or MegaSTE. Dan Iacovelli
-
heres another update:(this goes for MWC and VGS) If you hear songs from Weird Al's new CD at the shows that will be coming from the jagfest sections. I just got my CD today from Amazon.com. Dan Iacovelli
-
I found out my problem: I was running my display at 16bit which works well for the smaller programs (4k or 2k) but it won't work for higher programs (8k or higher). so I switched the display to 32bit and it hangs for while but it works now. I'm currently doing hack on tempest 2600. (this will be the game I was working before called laser man which was orginally done on a Ti-99/4a that did way back because the ti didn't have a tempest port) Dan Iacovelli

A small update on jagfest at MWC: Our Lynx display will be downsized by 8 due to the fact that the person who was supply most of the Lynxes will be going to Europe this week for business. check out the MWC forums under Jagfest at mwc section to see what I'm bringing for the Lynx. Dan Iacovelli
-
shaggy, I'll be there at mwc. People online were meeting long before MWC started up(CGE,Cinciclassic...) anyways if you see a person wearing Jagfest 2001(not 2k1) t-shirt and badge that will be me. Dan Iacovelli
-
it works for me on win xp. I was wondering what is the size limitations for use the hackomatic? I tried doing tempest 2600 it crashed, and I tried pitfall2+ and that crashed. Dan Iacovelli
-
Inky , don't worry I'm going to MWC next week (I am bringing a bunch of flyers for VGS ) not mention the jagfest issue binder(I'm actualy we reworking the binder so people can read the issues instead of parts of it) Dan Iacovelli
