  1. Both are pretty cool machines, but if I were selling one because I didn't have space or thought I should only have one, I'd sell the X'Eye and keep the CDX. The CDX would get more money assuming they are in roughly the same condition, though, so if you're looking to get some extra cash, I'd say keep the X'Eye and ditch the CDX.
  2. Nice! I've seen pictures of a prototype Middle Earth and thought it was pretty cool. If you ever need parts for Middle Earth, feel free to send me a PM. I have a few spares I might be persuaded to part with.
  3. They're actually a little smaller, but yeah, they're still huge for a pinball. Also, the bumpers in those machines are frightening to work on - they kick so hard that they were shaking the floor in the building the guy I bought them from was storing them in. I've always been extremely careful to make sure I have them powered off when I'm working on them (or at least, I keep my fingers far away from the parts that could give me a nasty bruise... )
  4. Looking for an Atarians myself.....The two that you mentioned happen to be the real rare ones out of the bunch!! You forgot to add Roadrunner to that list;) Ha! I think I'd have to be Dan Kramer to get my mitts on a Roadrunner! If I remember right, I think he actually knows some of the people who own the prototype pinball machines like that. I'd love to have them.
  5. Another Aquarius owner here! I also have the mini expander and a 16k memory cart!
  6. I think it's about market. RPGs I think have a larger niche market than the other two. I could be wrong, but I just think RPGs are more marketable, and perhaps it's easier to find people to get excited about programming them because of the story involved, etc. I think it's also because the Genesis didn't get too many great RPGs released on cartridge. I think people have been wanting an RPG on the same level as the Final Fantasy games for the SNES. Hilariously enough, good RPGs for the Genesis have been available for quite some time and have only been one SegaCD purchase away from most of these people...
  7. I think I remember that promotion - I also think it was about 3.5(ish) years ago, so I'd be surprised if it is still going.
  8. I was basing my statement on the Oct 22 email: It sounds to me like they're getting pretty close, but I guess I won't know until I get the official notice that my copy is in the mail!
  9. From what I read in my shipping confirmation emails, they are "processing" pre-orders starting today! I can't wait to find out the final ship date - I've been waiting for this game for awhile and can't wait to play it!
  10. Nice! Post some pics when you get back with them!
  11. I purchased Sonic 4 last night for the 360 as well. I agree that it just feels a little "weird" to control Sonic in this game when I really was expecting similar controls to the original games. It took me awhile to realize that he wasn't really that sluggish, I just needed to let go of some assumptions I had about how he moved. After that, it was pretty good. Another thing that threw me was the new take on the bonus levels from the first Sonic game - instead of slowly rotating the level and allowing the player to maneuver Sonic around in it, the player actually rotates the level around Sonic, instead. It took me a minute to fully realize everything they had done differently in this stage. Needless to say, I didn't get the chaos emerald the first time. One thing I really like is that you can go back and play a level over and over until you "get it right". Unlike the old games, Sonic 4 isn't totally linear and allows you to try new levels at your own speed - I also like the fact that they allow you to jump to the next level by pressing 'Y' at the end of a stage rather than forcing you to come out to the map every time. While I was a little disappointed at first, I think that ultimately I do like the new game, but it certainly took some getting used to.
  12. I preordered this as well - can't wait!
  13. I can't believe that thing finally sold - it has been on ebay for months now!
  14. Nice! I've never come across one of those in the wild - I picked mine up on Ebay. I don't think I've ever gotten a great deal on Neo Geo AES stuff, so congrats on your find! (If only there had been a Metal Slug in there somewhere - quite possibly my favorite series ever!)
  15. Nice! I always wondered how all the Atari games would look lined up. I think the cabs look awesome, the gameplay is a little dated for my pinball tastes but definetily still very playeable. Do you have any pics of them next to each other? I have a few pictures, but none of them all lined up (yet). The only ones I have at my place at the moment are Space Riders and Middle Earth while the Hercules machines and Airborne Avengers are in one place and Superman is in another. One day when I have a basement that can hold all of them I will definitely have them all next to one another. I agree that the gameplay can be a little dated, but part of that is why I like them - you don't have to play it very much to get a complete picture of what each thing does (versus something like the Lord of the Rings pinball machine that I still don't totally "get"). One day I'll likely get a little something more complex (I'm thinking Champion Pub - played that at MWGC this year and absolutely loved it), but for now I'm pretty happy with my Atari machines (even if most of them still need some work - but that's another story. )
  16. I currently own 6 - All of them are Atari machines. Hercules (two of them) Middle Earth Superman Space Riders Airborne Avengers I'm still looking for the Atarians machine and Time 2000.
  17. I wound up sending a message to customer support and got a worthless response - they told me that they couldn't help me with online store inquiries and then proceeded to point me to a support page for The Witcher...
  18. But they're still advertising it as $5 for the 48 states! I was going to purchase one of these last night until I realized that the shipping was still coming up as $15...
  19. Huh. I kinda like it! The quick look I took didn't show me anything about emulation or anything like that, but it DID show me that there wasn't a Commodore logo prominently displayed anywhere (at least, I didn't notice one). Kind of a cool idea for them to get back to their roots in a sense, but I'm skeptical that it will have much use outside of an office or retail location.
  20. Looking forward to seeing you there. You are more of an in person friend than on AA AX Haha - yeah, looking forward to seeing you there again this year as well! I had a blast hanging out with you and Tempest last year.
  21. If possible, I'd like a badge as well! I'll definitely be there again this year - maybe this year I won't buy anything in a box so big I could sleep in it (I bought the boxed ADAM last year - I tinkered with it and got the cassette drive working, then promptly put it back in the box and haven't played with it since)
  22. If this pinout is correct, you could read a Flashback 1 controller without any adapter by changing your code so that pin 2 (SWCHA D5) is Latch, pin 3 (SWCHA D6) is Data and pin 4 (SWCHA D7) is Clock. Thanks for the info! I was able to get the FB1 controllers working, although Data is actually SWCHA D5 and Latch is SWCHA D6. I will have to rewire my adapter, this way is much more convenient. Huh? SWCHA D5 and SWCHA D6? Did they change what they were silk screening onto the joystick PCBs or something?
  23. I'm experiencing some pretty bad slowdowns that were previously mentioned. Compared to the minimum requirements on the packaging, my computer is no slouch (Dual Athlon MP 2800+s, ATI Radeon HD3850, 3GB RAM, XP SP3). I've also noticed that the 10's digit in Lunar Lander seems to be a bit funky. It never blanks for me on my game - the "slowest" I can go is 10 (when it is really zero). That really threw me - I thought I was going 10 down, then suddenly I was going "11" up! It's definitely not another process - while any of those games are running (even when I scale my display way back to 1024x768), they are hammering CPU1. As soon as I exit, my resources go back to normal. Other than that, my experience at Taco Bell was pretty typical. They seemed to be confused by my request that I wanted to purchase some of the games that they had advertised right next to the register, they brought up the dopey kids toys and plunked them on my tray and I had to have them go in the back and pull the games instead (why would I want the other crap?).
  24. Oh, bah. There are Golden Axe games on tons of stuff. Game Gear, Genesis, Saturn, Master System - even the 360 has a Golden Axe game now!
