yeah, I like club drive over checkered flag. I have spent countless hours playing car tag and figuring out how to make my car do all sorts of stunts. (EX: making the car fly up a ramp and spin around in the air before crashing back down to the ground) The only problem that I have is that the levels are limited (although I do like the San Fransico level (I think that's the right city)) and that there are pretty limited options. As for my personal favorites, they'd have to be: Val d'Isere Skiing and Snowboarding Pinball Fantasies Theme Park Baldies Baldies isn't bad, although it isn't exactly "Starcraft"

yeah, the tempest 2000 soundtrack isn't too bad. (at least I think so. But that doesn't always count for very much. ) Another thing that I just remembered was that I once read that there was a way to put the jaguar cd player into a sort of "external input" mode. If this is right, how would you go about attaching whatever it is (microphone, tape player, whatever you'd want to plug in) into the Jaguar? I remember putting the Jaguar into this mode once, but since there was no way to plug anything into it, I didn't get it to do anything.

if you need parts or have a lynx repair question, the people at best electronics probably can help. The webpage is www.best-electronics-ca.com I've emailed them a few times and they have been extremely helpful. Their prices are pretty good, too.

What are the five most indespensible titles for the Lynx?
Atariman replied to bergbros's topic in Atari Lynx
One of my personal favorites is Rampage. I may not play it much anymore, but I still consider it to be one of the best ones I have for it. I also like Shanghai. Rampage is pretty much the reason that I even got my lynx. After playing it in an arcade, I got addicted to it. After seeing that the game was on the lynx, I HAD to have one. lol. -
does anyone remember wizztronics? Wasn't that the company that you could send your lynx into so that you could plug it into a TV? How's that for a bigger screen? I wanted to have the modification done on one of mine, but I thought it was too expensive. (I think it was something like $100)

ah... wait. I HAVE heard of that happening before, but it just hasn't happened to me in quite awhile. I used to have the problem with my original atari 2600. some games you would have to actually hold them in place while someone else played or they wouldn't work. I don't recall having that problem with the atari ever since I cleaned it, so maybe before you tear it all apart, you might try cleaning all of the connectors with rubbing alcohol first. If you have the contacts on the game AND the system as spotless as you can get them, I guess go ahead and open up the system and fix it the other way.

hmm... that's odd. I've never heard of that happening before, although I guess it's possible... and I'm pretty sure that a nintendo RF will not work on the 7800. (as someone already said) I think I remember reading that the atari systems don't pump enough power to switch it all the way over, so that's why it doesn't come in very well. As for hooking it up without a switchbox, I also have a connector that will convert it from the RCA plug to the kind that you use for an antenna. It's only about an inch long and you just plug the atari's cable into it and then screw the connector to the back of the tv.

what kind of automatic switch are you using? If you're using an automatic RF unit, try switching to the switchbox type that would be used on the 2600. As for the games not working well, you might try a system cleaning kit if you have to mess around with them to get them to work. I don't think that being dirty would make the screen get fuzzy if you got the game to start up, but it could possibly make them not work at all if the contacts are REALLY dirty. I'm guessing that the games and/or the system contacts just need cleaning. (you can clean the game cartridge contacts with Q-tips and rubbing alcohol, too.) how much did you say that this would cost? I didn't see it anywhere. If you posted it, feel free to slap me upside the head.

I have the arcade game, Blasteroids. Right now it works just fine, but I'm worried about it wearing out in the future. I was just wondering if anyone knew where I could find replacement parts for a good price. I'm also wondering where to find some of the parts for the coin mechanism. Many (more like most) of them are missing and I'd like to get it completely functional again. I was lucky enough to find the manuals in the bottom of it after finally drilling the lock out of the bottom coin door. I've been doing some work on it that probably should have been done YEARS ago. (lubricating the spinners, etc.) I'd appreciate any information I can get. Thanks!

I remember hearing in a commercial that the tempest 2000 soundtrack cd could be played while playing a cartridge game or something like that. Is that true?
