  1. One more call for Odyssey2 games to bring...any suggestions? It's pretty much a given that I'll be bringing the Challenger Series games (K.C. Munchkin, Pick Axe Pete, Killer Bees, UFO, etc.), imports and third-party carts, but I'm open to other suggestions. See ya guys in a week and a half. I'm pumped like a Pooka in a hot game of Dig Dug. That just sounds so wrong now that I go back and read it again
  2. Not really, we just want to play some new games on our old hardware. Is that so wrong?
  3. Hard, but not enough that it discourages you from ever touching it again. I like Looping a LOT.
  4. My, but that's pretty. I think we need more pictures.
  5. Heck, I just hope everyone "gets" what I've been trying to do with mine.
  6. If you're into retro stuff at all: Namco Museum Encore, Nichibutsu Arcade Classics, Irem Arcade Classics, and the original JP Space Invaders collection. Divine stuff, every last bit of it. Capcom Generations discs are good too. Just check out this page to see some of my retro picks. If you're into that sort of thing, that is.
  7. Namco Classics Collection Namco Classics Collection Remix Taito Game Music (I have an unplayed spare copy of this if anyone wants to buy or trade!) Konami Game Music Vol. 1 Tempest 2000 Dune 2000 <--- best. game. soundtrack. EVER. Emperor: Battle For Dune Command & Conquer Command & Conquer: Red Alert Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun Command & Conquer: Renegade ...and a half dozen other discs burned from random tracks downloaded off of this file sharing service or that one, lots of Japanese stuff in there, and some really strange ones too. In case you can't tell, I'm a big fan of Frank Klepacki's stuff from before Westwood was eaten by EA. He gave me a shout-out in the credits of his Morphscape solo album - poor guy evidently needs some more die-hard fans!
  8. I doubt it would've voided the original warranty. Knock yourself out man!
  9. I've never met an Apple II emulator that I really liked, so yeah, I still do my Apple stuff on the real deal.
  10. I have some Apple II stuff on my site, and I'm slowly getting back up to speed on my programming skills so I can finish up a game I started a decade ago (!) as a "homebrew" of sorts.
  11. Intellivision Overlays: Reloaded Print out some brand new overlays for those orphan carts you picked up at the yard sale. In some case these are the original overlays...in other cases they're "remixed" ones that retain elements of the originals...in still other cases the overlays have been completely redesigned...and in one case, I got goofy and invented a whole new game, but I think you'll like it. Enjoy! More to come in the months ahead.
  12. VERY cool. Let me know if you need help with overlay design or anything like that.
  13. It sounds like the difference between Infogrames' US subsidiary (which is the entity we now call Atari) and the French parent company.
  14. Yeah, that was my attempt to convince them to not have me doing the weather on television... What can I say, that was low-budget, Weird-Al's-UHF-style local TV at its scariest!
  15. I love the 5200 Super Pac - I've had mine for a few years now. If anything, it's tougher than the arcade game simply by virtue of the power pills and super power pills wearing off a lot faster. Yikes!
  16. NE146, I think he said he only sent stuff to the "quality" posters. Good thing you and I are just troublemakers, 'cause I didn't get one either.
  17. Looping for the 2600 is just maniacally hard. But very addictive too. I strongly recommend a more ergonomic controller than the standard CX40 stick - something you're comfortable and familiar with. You'll be trying to master this one for a loooong time.
  18. Man, I want a Ram-It...don't care if it's loose or boxed, I just love the game and want to play it on the real hardware.
  19. You can use the RF connector from any of the other Odyssey consoles, up to and including the Odyssey2. They're all compatible - but not with the more standard Atari-style/RCA-jack RF boxes.
  20. Kinda disappointed that I didn't get to meet any AtariAge folks - not like I wasn't wearing my Phosphor Dot Fossils name tag. And T-shirt. Hopefully some of you guys will make it to OKGE in September and say hi there! You can find my photos and recap here.
  21. I'll be there. In fact, my plane leaves in just under three hours. Can't wait.
  22. I'll be there, but I'll be introducing you fine folks to the wonders of Odyssey 2 goodness. Atari? Bah.
  23. I'll have to check out the GBA/NES emu whenever I get a GBA.
  24. Check THIS out if it isn't already old news round here. Freakin' AMAZING. Sooooo easy to use, and near-perfect emulation. My friends, I have done six impossible things before breakfast: played Donkey Kong on PS1, Donkey Kong Jr. on PS1, Super Mario on PS1, Ultima IV on PS1, Front Line on PS1, and Star Trek 25th Anniversary on PS1. I'm going to take a nap and dream sweet dreams of what this means for me and my PSone with the LCD screen.
