    while i am NO expert on this topic, is it a fact that the serial number would start with 00001? ive had alotof new products games o othrwaise that dont start that way and sometimes are 10000.. or 2001000... well you get the idea

     

    but it would be neat to see how early we can find them. did any ex atari workers get one for free or discount for working there and still kept them?? id like to learn onthis!

    ha! im not screwing anyone.

     

    it is true im trying to become a tv writer , since i cant figure out how to make my ideas be worked into a stand up type routine, so i just write alot of stories which got turned into almost like a series , i got cameras and equip to actually make it home movie style but no actors for it.

     

    i said fox since they are my fav network

     

    although they are going downhill as is all tv by taking emphasis off of sitcoms

    and putting it on gameshows, reality tv, teen dramas, shows about shitty bands and you get the picture

     

    fox needs to can ally, x files, temptation, the monthly EXTREME special etc., and just replace it all with family guy and the simpsons!

    well i wasnt trying to compare DC and jag, i was simply trying to get avibe on what everyone else was thinking

     

    i think that the DC will be the next step after the jag as far as those who follow defunct systems especially atari fans since theres no atari left (sorta)

     

    as far as comparing xbox cube and ps2 to systems 20 years ago i dont think im that off base , both then and now are big times off breakthruin technology. today and then it seems that alot of hype was on wether or not a system could be turned into a computer. where as keyboards and basic programming were for 1982 modems and online play are for 2002

     

    im not right either since it was only an opinion but alot of comparing could be made

     

     

    also i belive that a crash could happen again if TOO much emphasis will be put on the computer side again and not let a videogame just be a self contained system,

     

    also the cost of online games need to come severly down but that is for another thread

    you know what? i have been pleading for this for a long time, not to mention a rarity list for snes tg 16 saturn 3d0 and playstation!!

     

     

    i mean the genny and snes have been off the shelves since 1997 (cept for majescos)so thats plenty of time

     

    my other gripe is i cant find an atari rarity list that uses a b c d e f rarity in stead of the ever confousing c r u etc

     

    though atari age does have 1-10!!!!!

    well first , when i said i was around for a while i meant i surfed atariage's news portion not the board

     

    lets not forget donnie iris is from pittsburgh

     

    and of course micheal (yes batman) who went to the same area high school as me, though many years beforei might add, not too many though.

    also movies i know of were filmed closely to where i live

     

    gung ho

    inspector gadegt

    houseguest

    and the one with van damme and the civic arena, name escapes me

    loooong ago i had the instant replay messup on me and actually do what i didnt do in the first place!! it happened twice , both times very close to each other! it was weird!!!

     

    the only other major glicth like that happend to me with punchout!! for nes when it mixed up boxers order and had odd roundtimes that happened because i plugged and unplugged contorllers while it was running, never happened again

    wow im glad to see my first meaningful post has sparked such thought!

     

    in response to people comparing modern systems to days gone by.

    i.e. king cosmo saying dc had a cloeco felto it.

     

    my take would be thusly

     

    xbox atari 5200 (computer in a new case)

    Ps2 intellevision (add ons, add ons and unreleased add ons!)

    Gamecube coloecvision (most crafted games, ability to paly other games thru it{gba to gc someday!} and of course nintendo supported)

     

     

    as for dreamcast.... probably oddessy 2, what other system has a keyboard ha it also died out before it could compete with the other three

     

     

    as for ps 1 maybe ps1 would be like the 2600 (mainly in the respect that 1:3 homes had one)

     

    before that (saturn n 64 jag 3do)

    and Way before that (snes genesis turbo grafx)

     

    wed have to make other comparisons maybe for another thread

    sorry but i have no idea who chris carter is at all. i been aound boardman and lebanon , one of thos eplaces is home to phantom fireworks i know that. unless chris carter designed a game or delivers me chinese food or pizza its just a name ! haha

    i dont know the exact date of the philly classic but it is about 5 hours away for me plus i barley have enough money to scrape by but if anyones oing thru the mid mon valley area of sw pa ill hitch a ride!

    Just wanted to know what most people thought about the dreamcast dying before it should have.

     

    Personally it reminds me of the last few atari years, true it had more support but it was a last ditch effort that was pretty good, and popular among people who cared about games more than what was "IN"

     

    I also put sega and atari in the same bag. it could be that they both make stellar arcade games they had exlcusive for thier systems or that fought nintendo and lost or that they both got so big at one point they collapsed by spreading to thinly (anyone hear of pico? itslike the kids controller became a whole system ha)

     

    anywyas the point here is do you think the DC will be accepted in to the post-humus (cant think a better name) the same way atari's systems have? and by people mostly focused on atari. I tell ya when i got my DC it felt like i was playing atari in a strange way. perhaps it was the games i have for it dont have the focus on being an "e-XtReEmE!!" game like i see on EVERY xbox game and half of the playstation games

     

     

    also, how long will it be until DC homebrews pop up?
