  1. I enjoy the Jaguar...I've had mine since 1994...well, that's when I got my first one. That one did go bad at one point...I turned it on and as the Jaguar was growling, my screen went red and everything froze. I sent it in to be repaired (Atari was still around then) and they sent me a refurbished one in exchange. I later got another one so I have a back-up unit but never needed it as I've never had any other trouble. I must confess I wasn't crazy about the CD-rom unit...mine never really worked right. I had to keep repositioning it hoping the CD would continue to turn. Eventually I decided to just stick with the cartridges and sold the unit and the CDs I had. I never got a huge library but I think the best of the Jaguar (Tempest 2000, AvP, etc.) match up well with any system. And the Jaguar's version of Doom is my favorite console version of that game. Ditto for Wolfenstein 3D though I've not played many versions of that game. Perhaps someday I'll get a larger Jaguar game library...

  2. I think I might get LEGO Indiana Jones after Christmas...if no one gets it for me as a Christmas gift. I might also look up that older Indy game that came out for the PS2 (and Xbox) a couple years back. I don't know if a new Indiana Jones game is being planned...but if one were coming, I imagine it would have been out by now, probably around the time the movie hit theaters. The timing for one would seem to be past now.

  3. Well, they could be if it was played by someone that was just average. I enjoyed it though there were a few games there I wasn't positively sure what they were. Of course, it helped that every game in this video was arranged alphabetically. I'd like to know what game was after Battlemorph (could it be Battlesphere? I never saw that game), what was the one after Flashback, the one after Hover Strike, the one after Primal Rage, the two right after Ruiner Pinball, the one after Troy Aikman Football and the one after Worms?

  4. Wow, this is an interesting topic...not sure if I ever replied to it (I didn't go back to check) but I don't think I have. So many games, so much to hate. Among those at the bottom of my barrel...

Bubsy 3D for the PS1 (already mentioned)...and I really liked the first Bubsy game.

Batman Forever on the SNES...the worst Batman game?

CHeckered Flag on the Jaguar, control was absolutely horrible, non-existing, really.

There are others, but those are among my prime candidates.

  5. I guess mine is an original DS...it's not a "Lite" version as far as I can tell. It's metallic. I've never seen the need to get another version...I guess I figure as long as this works fine, why bother getting another? I don't use it as much as some do, probably. I think I have about 25 games for it...and about 4 or 5 GBA games (I've never owned a GBA unit0.

  6. I'm not absolutely positive but I'm guessing it was 1998. This is based on the fact that my first DVD was the Jodie Foster movie "Contact" and looking at it, I see it has a copyright date of 1997...so I figure I must've gotten it in 1998 at the latest. That makes this my DVD Silver Anniversary! Interestingly, I finally threw that first player out just a few months ago as it was having a hard time playing certain DVD-R discs so I decided it was finally time to get a new one. And I couldn't believe how much smaller the new unit was!

  7. My Jaguar collection has gone up and down...right now I think I'm down to about 21 titles. My favorites are pretty much the usual...Tempest 2000, Alien Vs. Predator, Doom (my favotire version of Doom...as with many earlier Jag games, it has no music during gameplay but I think in this case it makes it more effective and ominous), Wolfenstein 3D (I just wish there were more levels, the game seems a bit short), NBA Jam T.E.. I also like the pinball games and Pitfall. I just wish someone had come out with a baseball game for it.

  8. I think the Jaguar is the first system I actually played Doom on. I never played a PC version of it. One notable thing about the Jag version of Doom is that there's no music on it during gameplay. Some don't like that but I think it makes it more effective, especially when you hear your character's heavy breathing when he's injured. I also like Alien Vs. Predator a lot and would highly recommend that one as well. I also like Wolfenstein 3D though the game is a bit short for me.

  9. I guess I didn't mention it (I did in my blog entry today) but I do have the PS2 versin of MLB 08: The Show. I enjoy it though it does seem a bit slow at times. It's nice though even after a little more than a month into the season, my Pirates' roster isn't exactly what it is in the game. The Pirates have released Matt Morris and Steven Pearce is in the minors, for example.

  10. I received this game on my birthday, May 7, which was nice and I've played it virtually every day since then. It's a lot of fun. I play as the Pittsburgh Pirates and I made some trades to get some players I wish the Pirates hadn't traded away in recent years...Brian Giles and Jason Kendall. I couldn't get Aramis Ramirez, though, so I traded for Chipper Jones instead who I happen to have on one of my fantasy baseball leagues.

I also picked up yesterday another PS2 baseball title, what I believe to be the final title in EA's "MVP" series. I think the title might be MVP 07 NCAA Baseball...it says that on the front cover, on the booklet and on the disc...but on the spine of the game case it's actually MVP NCAA Baseball 07. I don't think EA has a baseball game this year which is too bad...when they had the MLB license, MVP Baseball was my favorite baseball video game. I need to write about my PS2 baseball games on my blog but first I need to change the name which has been "Gamecubing With Rogmeister". I need to change the name so I can cover other systems.

  11. I just ordered MLB Power Pros for the PS2 and it should be here in a few days. This will mark the 2nd baseball game I've gotten inside of 2 weeks (I got MLB 08: The Show a week oro so ago) after not buying one since 2006. I figure I got one for sim play and one that's more arcade-style. From what I've heard of this game, I expect to have a lot of fun with it.

  12. I didn't realize there was a Call of Duty DS game. I'll have to check that out. For me, I enjoy just about any of the Mario titles with New Super Mario Bros. being a particular favorite. Others I like a lot are Planet Puzzle League, Puyo Pop Fever and Zoo Keeper. Yes, I like my puzzle games... I haven't played it yet but I have The Simpsons Game coming. I only mention it because this will give me exactly 20 DS games...as you can see my collection is still in the fairly early stages.

  13. I thought I'd have a Wii by now...I even bought a game for it...but have been unable to get one so it looks like it won't be until next year that I get the actual console. So, for now, the only system I have of the included choices is the DS. Aren't they still making PS2 games? If so, it should've been included. And I know it hasn't been that long since a GameCube game came out though I can understand it not being included as it's now officially dead.

  14. You're right about MLB 2K7. Right now my only DS baseball game is the GBA game Baseball Advance and it's completely out of date. I always play as the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pirates team in this game has only only player on its roster that's still actually in the real Pirates organization. I do hope RBI Baseball comes to the U.S. though the end of September is an odd time to release it...that's right around when the regular season ends for MLB.
