I looked and Size Matters actually did get a port to the PS2 but the people who wrote about it at Amazon.com didn't think much of it so I will likely avoid that one anyway.
-
Thank you...I thought there was a PS2 version, too. I guess I was wrong...since I don't have a PSP, I won't be getting that.

I went out yesterday in search of a specific PS2 title I've heard about...but did not find it. Instead, I settled for buying a second PS2 memory card and one other game, Ratchet: Unlocked. I think that the only Ratchet & Clank title I'll need after the previously ordered titles come in will be the one subtitled "Size Matters". Maybe I'll order that one next. When I got back home, I got online and ordered two other titles including the one that I had been looking for at the store, SNK Arcade Classics, Vol. 1 which has 16 arcade games on it...games originally designed for the Neo Geo. I also ordered the first Jak & Daxter game...I have Jak II in my collection already so I figured I should get the first one in my collection again. I don't know if I'll get Jak III yet. I believe this gives me 6 PS2 games currently on order as I had previously ordered the first 3 Ratchet & Clank games and Katamari Damacy.

I have lately been getting more into playing my PS2 system, which is interesting because at one point I thought I had given up on the system and had given away what I thought were all my games for it. Later I found out I still had about 3 games I had temporarily misplaced for it, got one for Christmas and had bought some others so my game library for it has swelled back up to 11 titles for it. Today I decided to order a few m ore titles so I headed to a favorite online buying site and have now ordered the following games... Madden NFL 08 is the one game I ordered for a system other than the PS2. This one I ordered for my GameCube. I believe that this is basically the last game released for the GameCube so I felt I'd like to have that. It will replace Madden 07 in my GC game library. Ratchet & Clank is one of the most popular action series made for the system and I had the first 3 games for the PS2 and those are among the games I gave away and I have now ordered those 3 games again. Luckily, I'm not playing full price for these games again. I'm getting Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal. I was kind of hoping that the three games would've been available together as a bundle but that doesn't appear to be the case. Katamari Damacy is the one game I'm ordering I have never tried playing before. It has a pretty unique idea for a game and I know a lot of people like it so I figured it was time to finally get this game into my library. I figure with these games (along with the others I already have) coming I will be set for games to play on my PS2 for awhile.

PS2: Baseball And Other Updates
Rogmeister commented on Rogmeister's blog entry in Gaming With Rogmeister
There's a pretty big difference in the graphics on MLB: The Show for the PS2 and the PS3. I played part of a game on the PS3 at a Wal-Mart and then bought the PS2 version. I like The Show but find it now to be just a bit slow. I think I'm having more fun now with MLB Power Pros. Of course, it's fun to play The Show since it has a fairly current roster for my favorite team. It even has Adam LaRoche, Ronnie Paulino and Ryan Doumit on the Pirates now... -
MLB Power Pros - anyone else playing it?
Rogmeister replied to spacecadet's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I guess I didn't mention it (I did in my blog entry today) but I do have the PS2 versin of MLB 08: The Show. I enjoy it though it does seem a bit slow at times. It's nice though even after a little more than a month into the season, my Pirates' roster isn't exactly what it is in the game. The Pirates have released Matt Morris and Steven Pearce is in the minors, for example. -
Last year I thought I was done with the PS2, so much so that I put what I thought were all my games for the system and let my sister-in-law give them away to a nephew of hers. Then I came across one game I missed including...then another...then I found a third that was actually inside my PS2. I couldn't find the case for it so I must've included the case and manual for that game (Rumble Roses) among the games I gave away so now I only have the game disc itself. Maybe I'll stop up at Gamestop some time and see if I can find a used copy of the game real cheap where I'd get the case and manual for the game. I asked my sister-in-law to ask about the case I gave away but it's been so long now that I imagine her nephew has long ago discovered there was no game inside and he probably threw the case away by now. The last few months I've also added to my PS2 library by picking up some cheap games (one or two used but mostly new) and now my current PS2 library stands at 11 games: Black CMT Presents Karaoke Revolution Country Jak II Maximo: Ghosts To Glory Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty Medal of Honor: Vanguard MLB Power Pros MLB 08: The Show MVP 07 NCAA Baseball Pop Cap Hits Vol. 1 (Mainly bought for Bejeweled 2 which I've enjoyed playing on my brother's computer) Rumble Roses All 3 of my baseball games were bought within the last 2 weeks or so. I bought MLB 08: The Show first after playing a demo of the PS3 version. I don't have a PS3 so I had to settle for the PS2 version. At least it was nice to have a (mostly) accurate roster for my Pittsburgh Pirates since the last baseball video game I bought is now 2 years old. I like it (especially since the pitching is similar to MVP Baseball, my favorite baseball title). It does seem a bit slow at times, though. On my birthday, I received MLB Power Pros which I had ordered from Amazon.com...I basically got it for free since I used an Amazon gift certificate towards it. My nephew Derek told me about this game, calling it an RBI Baseball-like game. That's not entirely accurate but this has a similar look to it. The day I got this, I went to my brother's home and he and I and Derek played a couple games of this against each other and I've played this virtually every day since then. Finally, yesterday I went to Wal-Mart and picked up MVP 07 NCAA Baseball which appears to finally be the final EA baseball title...they lost the MLB license and have had 2 years of using MVP as a college game. I like the game though I don't know about the recuiting part of the game and am not crazy about how, when you press the "X" button to speed things along you also happen to cut off the announcer in mid-sentence. I've now played 3 games and am currently 0-3 as the West Virginia Mountaineers...but I'll keep plugging away.

MLB Power Pros - anyone else playing it?
Rogmeister replied to spacecadet's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I received this game on my birthday, May 7, which was nice and I've played it virtually every day since then. It's a lot of fun. I play as the Pittsburgh Pirates and I made some trades to get some players I wish the Pirates hadn't traded away in recent years...Brian Giles and Jason Kendall. I couldn't get Aramis Ramirez, though, so I traded for Chipper Jones instead who I happen to have on one of my fantasy baseball leagues. I also picked up yesterday another PS2 baseball title, what I believe to be the final title in EA's "MVP" series. I think the title might be MVP 07 NCAA Baseball...it says that on the front cover, on the booklet and on the disc...but on the spine of the game case it's actually MVP NCAA Baseball 07. I don't think EA has a baseball game this year which is too bad...when they had the MLB license, MVP Baseball was my favorite baseball video game. I need to write about my PS2 baseball games on my blog but first I need to change the name which has been "Gamecubing With Rogmeister". I need to change the name so I can cover other systems. -
MLB Power Pros - anyone else playing it?
Rogmeister replied to spacecadet's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I just ordered MLB Power Pros for the PS2 and it should be here in a few days. This will mark the 2nd baseball game I've gotten inside of 2 weeks (I got MLB 08: The Show a week oro so ago) after not buying one since 2006. I figure I got one for sim play and one that's more arcade-style. From what I've heard of this game, I expect to have a lot of fun with it. -
What video game systems do you own? - READ BEFORE ANSWERING.
Rogmeister replied to Rhindle The Red's topic in Poll Forum
My systems... Atari 2600 Atari 5200 Atari Jaguar Atari Lynx ColecoVision Nintendo DS Nintendo GameCube PlayStation PlayStation 2 Sega Dreamcast Sega Saturn Super Nintendo Xbox And, of course, a PC... -
I didn't realize there was a Call of Duty DS game. I'll have to check that out. For me, I enjoy just about any of the Mario titles with New Super Mario Bros. being a particular favorite. Others I like a lot are Planet Puzzle League, Puyo Pop Fever and Zoo Keeper. Yes, I like my puzzle games... I haven't played it yet but I have The Simpsons Game coming. I only mention it because this will give me exactly 20 DS games...as you can see my collection is still in the fairly early stages.

As 2008 began, I had 141 games in my GameCube library. Though I did manage to get 200 games each for my Super Nintendo and Playstation collections, I don't plan to get that many for the GameCube. I'm frankly not sure I could find another 50 games that interest me so I've decided to stop collecting for the Cube once I get my 150th game. I've now ordered 9 games by mail and I expect them all to arrive by the end of next week...thus calling a halt to my GameCube collecting. Then I can stop buying and spend all my GC energy playing. Here are the 9 games I now have on order... Backyard Baseball--Featuring kid versioins of MLB players Batman Vengeance--Not the best Batman game ever, but not the worst either. Karaoke Revolution Party--The one and only karaoke game for the system. Sonic Heroes--I think this will be my one and only Sonic game on the Cube. Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy--I enjoy a good platform or action game. Spyro: A Hero's Tale--One of about 3 Spyro games for the Cube. Warioware, Inc.--The popular party game consisting of about 200 mini-games. Worms Blast--One of the games of the Worms franchise...I chose this one because I could get it for about half of what Worms 3D would've cost me. XIII--A first-person shooter with a unique look, thanks to cel-shaded graphics. Of course, with my luck, I will later come across another game I just have to have. Well, if that happens, I could always do an exchange...toss out my worst GC game for the new one. I don't really expect that to happen, though. Once I get all these games, I will again start my reviews as I attempt to do one on every GameCube title I own.

Are you getting buried in snow like I am?
Rogmeister replied to Rhindle The Red's topic in Poll Forum
We got some more snow on Saturday...maybe an inch or two but, again, nothing to get too concerned about. -
Are you getting buried in snow like I am?

We got a couple of inches of snow a few nights ago...but I've seen it a lot worse. -
I have a half-closet that I use to store most of my video games and consoles and I went through it yesterday in search of some games to give in my Secret Santa exchange. I was looking for some other things, too. I didn't find everything I was looking for but I did manage to find some games I had misplaced, 5 titles for my GameCube collection. These included All-Star Baseball 2003 and 2004, MVP Baseball 2004, Namco Museum: 50th Anniversary and The Sims 2. Once I rearrange these into my GC library, my entire GameCube games collection will finally be together once again. Then maybe I'll restart a plan I once had to play my games one at a time and start writing about them. Hey, it's December 2nd! This makes one year since I started posting here at AtariAge. I don't know what I was doing before that...

Which of the "current Gen" systems do you own?
Rogmeister replied to Rhindle The Red's topic in Poll Forum
I thought I'd have a Wii by now...I even bought a game for it...but have been unable to get one so it looks like it won't be until next year that I get the actual console. So, for now, the only system I have of the included choices is the DS. Aren't they still making PS2 games? If so, it should've been included. And I know it hasn't been that long since a GameCube game came out though I can understand it not being included as it's now officially dead. -
Almost every year, a message board I go to sponsors a Secret Santa gift exchange. We're all videogamers there so that's what gets exchanged. People have always been encouraged to give things from their own collections...that way, we don't have to spend a lot of money and the person we are matched with can still get several games. I have separated 5 games from my collection I will be sending to my victim...er, recipient...and they're all on his want list so I am sure he will enjoy them. I might go check and see if I can get replacement copies of these games fairly cheaply...if not, I won't worry about it. None of these are my absolute favorites though I do enjoy a couple of them. Of course, I also provided a want list. There's no telling at this point who my own Secret Santa will be or what he'll get me...or even if he'll completely stick to my want list. I remember a recent year where I got stuff besides video games. I was treated to some burned CDs of Johnny Cash plus a few toys for my cats. That person was obviously very familiar with me. I may still try to think of a few other little extras before I get this stuff ready to go out. I'll probably mail it out sometime next week. Ho ho ho! Does that sound enough like Santa?

I've not bought any GameCube games for awhile. That's partly because I've not felt like playing too much recently but also because, since I already have over a hundred titles for the system, I didn't think there were many games left for the system that really interested me. But I have now purchased a handful of games. My nephew and his wife lent me Mario Party 7...I have Mario Party 4 & 6 for the Cube and enjoy those and found I really liked #7 as well. I got on the internet and tracked down copies of both it and Mario Party 5 so I could have all 4 of the Mario Party games that were made for the GameCube. New copies are rather pricey for some reason...I saw one new copy listed at something like $125. I did manage to find good used copies of both for less than $30 each so I decided to take a chance on those and am now awaiting their arrival in my mailbox. Today I went to a local Circuit City and found several GameCube games I don't recall ever coming across in actual stores. Ironically enough, one game I found there was Mario Party 7...still at the original $49.95 price. I would've bought it probably if I hadn't already ordered that used copy. I did buy 3 other games: Star Fox: Assault, Super Monkey Ball Adventure and Pikmin 2. So with these 3 games in my possession now, and a pair of Mario Party games on their way, I've lots of new games to try out. I will try to get back to writing about my GameCube titles in November...if not tomorrow, then within the next few days.

Wow, I've Been Gone Awhile...
Rogmeister commented on Rogmeister's blog entry in Gaming With Rogmeister
My doctor mainly wants me to walk for excercise. He wants me to get up to a mile a day eventually. I've managed to get up to about a half-mile so far so I'm still working on that. -
My last post was made over 3 months ago. Part of that was because in July, I went into the hospital and had open-heart surgery. I'm still recovering from that but will try to get back to this blog on at least a semi-regular basis. These days, I seem to be concentrating on two systems, one console (Nintendo GameCube) and one portable (Nintendo DS). I may pull out my Xbox system soon so I have two consoles hooked up...I gave away all my PS2 games except for one so that's not really one I'll be playing...and I never did get a PS3, Wii or Xbox 360 and don't plan to even if I could find one. My family has helped me try to get my apartment organized and as a result, many of my video games and DVDs got put away into storage tubs...I'm still missing a few GameCube games here and there but I've managed to gather aboout 112 of them together. The 5-10 of them I'm still missing should show up eventually. Two such games I've not found yet are All-Star Baseball 2003 and 2004...of course, some would consider those to be a small loss. Besides, I still have handy my favorite baseball game, MVP Baseball, which I've been playing a lot so my need for a little hardball is easily taken care of. Regarding my other systems which are currently put away, I may be getting rid of some more systems. Giving away my PS2 games was the first effort in my move to thin out my gaming collection...but it probably won't be the end of that effort.

I saw another version at a store...one of those joystick games (TV Games?) that you connect directly to the TV. How is that version? I've not played any of them so far.
-
You're right about MLB 2K7. Right now my only DS baseball game is the GBA game Baseball Advance and it's completely out of date. I always play as the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pirates team in this game has only only player on its roster that's still actually in the real Pirates organization. I do hope RBI Baseball comes to the U.S. though the end of September is an odd time to release it...that's right around when the regular season ends for MLB.

Ikaruga - Most Expensive GameCube Game Ever?
Rogmeister replied to jbanes's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I found a copy at Wal-Mart for $10. I think that was probably in 2005 sometime. -
Are you going to see DOA: Dead or Alive?
Rogmeister replied to Rhindle The Red's topic in Poll Forum
I doubt very much I'll see it. It's been nearly 2 years since I last went to a movie theater, when I went to see Flightplan with Jodie Foster. If I were to go to a movie theater this year, I'd probably be more likely to go see the new Fantastic Four movie since I did enjoy the first one. I might get DOA when it comes out on DVD, though...basically, I just am not a movie-going person anymore. -
I found myself in Wal-Mart today (Roger! What are YOU doing here?) and decided to glance at their DS section. I found several games there that I hadn't seen there the last time I visited and that included one game I've been planning to buy, Planet Puzzle League. Since it was there, and I was buying a few other things anyway, I decided to go ahead and pick it up today so I was wrong about "Brothers In Arms" being my next DS game. I've glanced at reviews for Planet Puzzle League and they've all been very positive so I'm sure I'll be happy with this purchase.
