Check out the NFL 2K series...the players are blocky as hell, but the atrocity REALLY begins whenever you kick a field goal or attempt an extra point....can you say MAJOR DROP in the frame rate department? It's actually pretty hilarious! You can literally count the individual frames on your fingers! And that's just FOOTBALL...wait until you play something a little more intense like Sonic or Starlancer. Not only is HEAVY POP-UP evident, most DC games can't seem to stay at a consistent frame rate regardless. Are the games still fun even with these glaring defects? The answer is NO. You begin to focus less on the game and more on the polygons that are seemingly disappearing in and out of view. While first generation games I tend to be a little more lenient of (even some early poorly programmed XBOX games like Azurik exhibit some framiness, but it's an early game so it's forgiven) the earlier titles since they are generally programmed as the hardware is still being developed, but the DC continued to exhibit its weaknesses throughout its thankfully short life span. You know you have a weak console on your hands when every racing game drops its frame rate or when you see heavy polygon pop-up in the simplest 3D games. Gamecube falls into this category. Check out Rogue Squadron. Watch carefully as you fly your X-wing...notice how the frame rate noticeably stutters, even when the number of on-screen ships is at its most minimal? Yes, it's a first generation game, but to not be able to maintain a silky smooth frame rate with nothing on the screen is BAD NEWS indeed. The major slowdown in Pikmin, aliasing problems in Luigi's Mansion and very low polygon counts in Super Smash Bros do not bode well for this weak console's future. GC is destined to die a quick death...it will be the next DC. Mark my words!! DO YOU EVER SHUT UP?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
  2. Everyone besides Adrain, thank you for your OPINION. Adrian needs to learn what those are.
  3. quote: Originally posted by Adrian M: Don't bother getting a GC. Why? It's a weak system! About the equivalent of the PS2 which in itself is a pretty bad system. Spend your money on something that is advanced and here to stay. Specifically, a MICROSOFT XBOX. Microsoft has the resources and funding to see that it succeeds. The games are great and definitely a quantum leap forward over what's out for other systems. Don't settle for an inferior alternative just because it's $100 less...you get what you pay for. Adrian... a few words of my wisdom: SHUT THE DAMN HELL UP ABOUT MICROSOFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!
  4. quote: Originally posted by HawgWyld: Oh, almost forgot to mention -- I still have a heck of a lot of fun with my Dreamcast. Lots of great software for cheap, and that's fine with me. Same here HawgWild. I LOOOOOVE My Dreamcast. It's Thinking.
  5. quote: Originally posted by HawgWyld: Actually, I'm not sure why Miscrosoft fans pick on the GameCube constantly. They never seem to consider that someone might (gasp!) actually prefer another machine! LOL... laughed when I read that. Not at HW but at Adrian.
  6. At first, I thought this machine was terrible, but then I was very impressed by 2 games of its games: Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Super Smash Bros Meelee. Pikmin was ok. Whould I get a GameCube?!?!?!

  9. I am a Sega FREAK. I have every system they have ever created (except for a Japanese Saturn.) and my fav. Dreamcast games are Power Stone 2, Sonic Adventure 1&2, and The House Of The Dead.
  10. Heh... yeah, I want to go to Atari Heaven!!!! Play Yar's Revenge forever in peace... ahh...
  11. quote: Originally posted by Markimus of K.: be very carefull. When I saw this game in Toys 'R Us, I nearly had a heart attack! Yar on my GBC! So of course I bought it. It's ok, but very hard to play on the GBC screen. You will not get a very good game experience out of it unless maybe in direct sunlight. the 2600 version kicks. As Always, Markimus of K. I have a GBA! . Its (in my opinion.) the best Nintendo system. And thank you Shay
  12. Where can I download the GB version of Yar's Revenge? I want to know if I should get this game of not.
  13. quote: Originally posted by Pierre LeFrance: Blackjack is VERY hard to play!!! I have to agree here, Blackjack is very hard. Harder than the 2600's Blackjack
  14. quote: Originally posted by Nateo: Does anyone know about how much one of these things cost? It sounds like a neat system to have. I got mine by looking in a guy's trash can. I thought I saw an Atari, but it ended up being a WORKING RCA Studio 2. Bet that helped you Nateo.
  15. How rare is this? I just bought one for $10. I think the idiot who sold me it dosent know a 2600 from a Sega Saturn. He had totally no knowledge on games! BUt of course, when a person dosen't know how to price things, thats good for the buyer... Next week, maybe I'll try to buy his "Computer Space" for $30! Im hooked on old games!!!
  16. THAT IS SAD!!!!!!!!!!!! Who could be so mean?!?!?!?!?! How do you destroy an Atari game???? Words cannot express my sadness. Really. WHo would do such a thing?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
  17. Personally I would have called it the "octopus cart" but cuttle is good.
  18. Does anyone know the Source Code for Boxing? I need it. It would be greatly appreciated.
  19. I didn't like Atlantis II, it was a blatant Atlantis clone. There was nothing different! ... or was there?
  20. If spamming was alowed, you can guarantee that LONG LIVE ALEX KIDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would be written about 8,000 times!!!
  21. guess I forgot alexkidd.com, I already knew about that site. I think SMS.com is the best!!! Especially the Death-Matches!!!! Oh, those are great!!!!
  22. Are there any good Sega Master System sites out there? I know two, they're both good, but Im a SMS collector and would like more sites!!! Does anyone know any? Here are the sites I know: www.webspawner.com/users/neoblade84 (aka, Master Domain.com.) www.Segamastersystem.com (aka, Sega Master System.com.) I bet no one even likes ol' Alex Kidd anymore...
  23. How cool... someone besides me who actually likes the RCA Studio 2... yes I have one too, I didn't know Space Invaders was out though... . Or if it IS out for it... but its still a great system!
