  1. Also let's not forget about TOSHYP https://freemint.github.io/tos.hyp/en/index.html
  2. VGA is best for me. You can build your own cable, if you can find the DB-19 connector. I hacked a db25 one to make one for me.
  3. I don't think that's true at all. GFA is generally much faster. Can you point me to an example?
  4. Also, your local shop would have a list with games, you'd read it, choose the game, and they would copy it for you. For the tape systems, they would have a box with the tapes that would be available and you'd just buy it.
  5. We had recently moved to the city. I was kind of sad about it, lost my friends etc etc. I knew my friend from the town I lived before, was going to buy an Atari (atari was every console back then, but he meant 2600) so obviously I needed one, but I hadn't seen one yet. Well sometime later they went to the electric store and they got me an Atari. It was an 130xe. We almost returned it because it was loading very slowly so obviously we thought it was broken. Time passes and we visit my friend, he loads moon patrol on the 2600. I was so glad i got the xe.
  6. Well, I've got Hisoft C interpreter here that I need to try at some point. Seems also a good way to learn the platform. I am not sure about the compatibility when you actually want to compile something.
  7. Captain Dynamo, looks, plays and sounds great. Chronicles of Omega, while not a good game by any stress of the imagination, scrolls and plays smoothly enough. Jim Power, just don't put it against the Amiga, it really loses a lot in the graphics department, but I believe it plays extremely similar. Metro Cross, runs at 50/60fps most of the time. Navy Moves/Arctic moves, look great and are kind of smooth. Spellfire the Sorceror, though it plays in a box, it's cool with nice parallax. Ghost Battle, great graphics, smooth scrolling though the action is kind of slow. Stormlord, good scrolling, beautiful graphics. Not my kind of game. Flying shark, is really well made. Lethal Xcess, nothing more to say really. Fernandez must die, is a good commando clone. Runs well enough. P47, though some people might have an objection about the scrolling, it's a really great game. Critical Mass, it's a non commercial game that is one of my personal favourites. It features smooth parallax scrolling and it's quite different from most ST games. Kind of repetitive though. Frantick, another non commercial game. This is like a 2d Tempest. I love it. Just a small list for now. Maybe I'll get back to it.
  8. Arcade perfect, not so much, but some really good ones include: Super sprint Badlands Super off road (There's a theme here) Sinister development's Asteroids and Space Invaders Battlezone (it's running the arcade logic with a 6502 emulator) Rampart (nice mouse controls) Moon Patrol (I prefer the A8 version) Rodland Star Wars
  9. I never had an issue with the d-bug patch. Try that.
  10. You can also run Virtual Escape or many other demos. Running CosmosEX with 512K might be a bit too little though, since the driver will get a few precious KB.
  11. Yeah, it has an attract mode and it can't shut up about welcoming you to Goldrunner. Not a very enjoyable game though, but great music and smooth action.
  12. I am not sure I have the heart to watch your video. I really miss my falcon but the way life is going right now, I am less sad that mine is fried, i wouldn't have time to turn it on. Maybe it would be worse. I don't remember if it's your first falcon but I wish you happy exploring.
  13. Well there's this. https://docs.dev-docs.org/
  14. Like I told you (i think) on YouTube, I really appreciate how much effort you put in the research of your videos. Looking forward to many more. About one step beyond, it's a really nice puzzler. Looks great too. I played it quite a lot.
  15. This also might be some help https://github.com/ctzio/PS2X2STmouse/blob/master/PSX2Joy2STmouse.ino
  16. I had the opportunity to ask him a few questions about the ST many years ago for our old webmag. I remember he was very polite and very helpful. I always followed his posts here and on facebook, he will be missed. Best wishes to his family and friends.
  17. Sorry nothing to contribute really
  18. You can check this video. The card works with the ST but the image is bad. There are various videos on youtube that show this working. However, there is also GBS Control, custom firmware with an ESP8266 Arduino that apparently gives great results. I'd love to see how it would perform on Atari ST. Here's a video of someone doing the mod.
  19. It's probably a dns issue. Maybe the change hasn't propagated all the way since I still see the board is under maintenance message. Funnily enough I use google dns.
  20. I am curious as to where you see the SCSI port. If you pose at 10:41 you'll clearly see the 19-pin ACSI port.
  21. Did you also see the brochure?
