68000 ASM debugger and dev environment on WinXP ?
Christos replied to VladR's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Well steem debug is probably the best debugger out there and if you don't like devpac (and many don't) there is always turbo assembler. Plus there is this little thing called a fast forward button that kind of makes a huge difference compared to a real machine. As for being counterproductive, all those new ste demos wouldn't have been possible without STEEM so I guess your definition of counterproductive isn't really backed by data. -
It depends on what you mean cool. It has mostly been used for audio stuff (interesting effects etc) and in a sense as a gpu to calculate 3d graphics.

I can't remember a good SEUCK or 3DCK game. -
IIRC this has some GEM menus. How do you plan to implement them?
-
Yeah, you are missing how hosting services work.

That makes sense. Amigaaaargh

So what's next? Ribbons?
-
Yep! You could easily get 100 for atari karts alone.

I third the fumes. Minimizing your exposure to them by a. turning on the jag as seldom as possible b. having good ventilation. can improve things drastically. Jokes aside, I like to see the jaguar community as players in an MMORPG. Some of them have invested a lot of time in accumulating jaguar stuff and in making a name for themselves. When this fails they do a Leeroy Jenkins and that's what you see.

@Jag_slave, please pm me with information on what you are smoking and where to get it! That shit must be really good!

Oh Carmel, Carmel, Carmel! I think that even you can see the irony in your use of the word BORING!

Nah, all you need to do is put a phrase from the article in quotes in google and you can find out very easily.

Atari ST 'System on a chip' (SoC)
Christos replied to carmel_andrews's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Actually homebrew should only be used for beers etc... -
That would actually be a great idea for a smartphone (or jaguar) game. You are a dentist's clerk and you need to schedule appointments. This could sell!

How healthy is the ST emulation scene

No and no -
No, msa disks are compressed. You'll need a program called msa2st to switch between the two formats. You might also avoid all that together for games that are smaller than 720kb (most of them) and check the hd patches by d-bug and klapauzius since those will also run from floppy disk in most of the cases.

Falcon030 problem, please help
Christos replied to [email protected]'s topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Did you check whether the cable is firm in the motherboard? The falcon will hang if the hard disk is plugged in the wrong way, and also you need to wait a few seconds for it to boot without a hard disk. So unplug the hard disk, boot with a floppy in the drive and see what happens. -

You could help us narrow it down. For example, was it a game that came with the ST? Something you bought as an original? Perhaps a public domain disk, a magazine disk? And which country are you from? -

The only game I know that is similar to what you describe is carvup.. But the car is red. It does have cartoony graphics fruits and driving on roofs. I am sorry but I can't think of a platformer with a car...
