  1. Just for the record HDDriver is far far far better to ahdi or anything else.
  2. Heh, looks nice! Got teradesk running!
  3. Not a very stable setup. Slip didn't work well for me when large packets were being transfered.
  4. Exactly what Linkovitch said. For developing, an accurate emulator is vital. There is absolutely no point in having a program running on an emulator and then having it fail on the real machine, as it is the case with many emulators of various other machines that are actually pretty good on their own right. Virtual jaguar is a work in progress, it has a stated goal and eventually it will reach it. What you are criticising is the current state of the affairs and in a very superficial manner -if I may add- without knowing what changed inside the code.
  5. You can also try quick extract. Cheapest way to transfer files would be with a null modem cable and ghostlink. There is also parcp through the parallel port but you'd need to make the cable.
  6. Again you are missing it. Apart from the very very first tv we had at home (a b&w tv) the rest all had scart (mid 80's). And a small trivia, Greece at the time (as now) was much below the european average in everything.. You are clearly misinformed about that issue, and your anecdotal evidence are not as good as mine
  7. BTW, since you have a satandisk you may want to look into game patches for hd: http://dbug.kicks-ass.net/dbug/index.htm and http://www.klapauzius.net/Old_Games.html Hint, the satandisk sd card can be made to be read from a pc (chances are it already is).
  8. You pretty much do with it anything you do with any other computer. Get software. The type of software depends on what you want to do.
  9. Even HD consoles are offered with SCART for people with older tv's without hdmi.
  10. xcontrol or control panel is a desk accessory you load at startup. It allows you to load various other programs that set up your computer that have the extension .cpx. You will find it in the language disks that you can get here: http://www.atari.org/services/systemdisks.php The latest version is on the falcon disks but if your MSTE comes with an HD chances are it's already in there.
  11. When we started this, we would start STOT threads here as well. We found that users were members both here and af and that there was very little interest for STOT in atariage. As ssb said though, feel free to post your STOT scores here and since we generally visit often, we'll collect them.
  12. We also have a website/blog. http://www.npoi.de/stot/
  13. No the mste doesn't have them. Also as already discussed there should be very few problems with NTSC ataris and games and finally all ST have the same impossible to find 13pin DIN for the monitor.
  14. For the ST no, there is obsession if you have an STE.
  15. The amiga has different cpu and bus speeds for NTSC and PAL machines so I think it has that problem. But some amiga people should be better at explaining that.
  16. I don't know the exact technical details but very few games will have a problem with NTSC, games that use some special technique like sync scrolling or border killing. The only difference will be an about 13% speed up in music when the vbl is used for it and a bit faster gameplay if the game doesn't correct for this. I've got this when playing ST games on the falcon and it's no big deal really.
  17. It would temporarily fix the problem. The chips will heat up and it will default to its previous state. Then we know the problem.
  18. Actually besides the whole "could, would, should" thing being a bit annoying there is also the issue of why? Why port an existing game that you can get very easily and play on your modern computer on a dead console? What would that accomplish? So here's a better question. Is there a game idea that is original (or with original elements), feasible, that doesn't need 7 years to be developed and fun? Then we can discuss the possibilities all you want and that would actually be constructive.
  19. Try the 5cm drop and see if that fixes it. If it does, a good idea will be to open the machine and reseat all chips.
  20. I have a feeling that HSModem won't increase the speed on an STE without a h/w hack but will only stabilise the connection. Either way and out of memory you need to choose the proper driver for your computer (either SCC and MFP), install the advanced modem cpx for your xcontrol.acc (don't forget to deactivate the old one) and do the proper settings there. Then you are set to go. I've transferred the entire easymint collection through null modem with hsmodem and ghostlink. I could get 11 kb/s stable on the falcon. Also in case hsmodem doesn't work maybe you should look into parcp, it's a bit more involved but the speeds are a lot faster
  21. I really like the doom one and the AvP one isn't that bad. But in the case of cybermorph, honesty might not be the best policy, or marketting trick.

    Summer vacations.

Yeah, it was a nice photo and strange clouds. Anyway I uploaded a new video on youtube
  23. Some of you may wonder why there is nothing Atari related from me. Truth is.. demotivation! Without anything exciting going on in the ST side of things (at least in front of the scenes) I find that my ct63 is rarely turned on. Also, I've been enjoying some summer vacations in Chalkidiki. Here's a sky!
