  1. I am sure they are on the list, but so far: Lemmi EricDeLee Robert M SINGLETOOTH are great people to do business with.
  2. Did you get it off of ebay? If so, who was the seller? I got it in a 4 cart lot with 3 commons for around 70 bucks. It was not even advertised as Halloween. This lead me to believe that the seller had no idea what they had, and I do not hold them responsible as such. I think they were mainly estate sale scavenger types with no knowledge of the "value" of what they had. I have recently found an old thread that mentions the static ghost blocks in the display, so maybe it is legit, and just from a bad batch. The thing that made me think it was a copy was the label that looked slightly crooked and not very well cut. I have no reason to believe that this person knowingly sold a fake, though, and I still like the game.
  3. It looks like someone met the $1095 BIN. WOW. I need to get me one of them gurus.
  4. Being both, I am in a-double no-win situation. I paid too much a while back and got a copy that I fear is not genuine and displays badly. I suppose that makes me a grade A sucker. (the music is still cool for Halloween though.)
  5. No, I don't get annoyed, but my Old Lady does.
  6. I found a working XEGS and now need some games and possibly a floppy drive and cassette drive. Oh, and a CCII (yeah right!) Thanks!
  7. I have left an email at his sight, humbly begging for that which I did not know I so desparately desired until recently. This is the one thing that would keep me from selling my 7800. Certain people have been hinting at "something wonderful" happenning soon. I wonder if this is it?
  8. How about like a chain letter,"You must distibute 10 copies freely to 5200 fanboys, or worms will eat your brain in your sleep." That might kind of diminish the profit margin for scammers, and scare the dickens out of 'em too!
  9. You just made my day, and ruined my girlfriend's
  10. My Old Lady has decided to murder me if I buy this (she wants a jukebox instead) so if any one is interested, look at Grand Rapids, Michigan Craigslist, if you are near there. Oh and if you buy it, you should invite me over to play it too.
  11. I'm allergic. That's why I have a poodle. They don't shed.
  12. I found a working Battlezone cabinet not to far from me. It would be my first arcade game and is also the first video game I ever played. Seriously, I had to stand on a chair to reach the periscope at my dad's favorite bar. Is 400 bucks a fair price?
  13. As a new member of the AA community, I must tip my hat to the programmers like Kenfused and Classics. I haven't the aptitude or patience to do the amazing things they do, and in a short time they, and people like them, have enriched my experience with retro gaming beyond what I could ever do just chasing old carts around sleazebay and flea markets. People who ride their coattails to make a buck are not friends of mine and I do not to deal with them when I recognize their stuff. In the future I hope to be able to humbley contribute the kinds of unique and high quality labels to the effort, as that is where my aptitude lies. I would hope that credit is given where it is due for all who give their time and creativity to the cause.
  14. I am 33 and never had any of my own video games growing up. I had one of those weird moms that wouldn't let me eat sugered cerial or own violent toys like Star Wars, GI Joe and Transformers My stepsister had a ColecoVision, but since mine was a weekend dad type of thing we mostly went roller-skating. That is where I played Battlezone and Centipede to death. Now I do what I want, eat what I want and collect any toy that I want. (if I can afford it.)
  15. I push start on the left controller to select the game from the list, then I push * on the right, prompt says "number of players: one" but I cannot change the number of players, and I have to push start on the right controller. Then it prompts "choose speed", and I use the digit on the keypad of the right controller. The game starts automatically after choosing the speed, but you play with the left controller.
  16. I am imagining the voice of HAL9000 when I read these words. Or is it David Bowman? Creepy.
  17. I think I prefer the ambiguously grey side of the internets. I don't know much about Russians, and I don't like animals. Neither does my PC. Except for my Miniature poodle. She is a doll; a living chia pet, only without the chloraphil and cheap pottery.
  18. I found the answer,I think, On this thread. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...=Jumpman+Junior I think I have found some of these unsafe places of which you speak. Good thing I am left alone with a computer most every business day . Thanks again for the tips.
  19. That sounds like an interesting proposition. I will make a list and PM you sometime this weekend. BTW, I am pretty sure that it probobly had some foam packing originally. What I got came inside the box wrapped in bubble wrap. I don't want to waste your time if that makes a difference.
  20. If you really want the empty box, i will trade for some decent games for the 7800, if you are serious. I have an extra owners manual too. Or are you just yanking my chain
  21. Pitfall 2(rom) works fine on my 2 port. It is Regular old Pitfall! that I cannot find a working(rom) copy of. I thought the problem was with the 4 ports not playing some games, but I could just be remembering the thing about the 2600 adapter not working on them. I am going to look for the Jumpman trick because the screens that cycled before my eyes looked neat-o. Thanks, though!
  22. Wow, such passion! Regardless of weighing the benefits of playing Atari on or off crack, I appreciate the diverse input and the sheer volume of responses, which tells me it probably would be in my favor to keep the 7800, but the jury is still out. Can I use my 2600 trak-ball to better effect on the 7800 than I could on the 2600? Did they even make TB specific games for the 7800. (I understand it does not have its own trak-ball, but I could be mis-informed.) I prefer red wine to crack when I play.
  23. I asked this question at Atarimax forums but I believe there are probably many people here who would be able to answer this question (likely many of the same people, in fact!) I have had my usb cart for about a month and love it for its user friendliness. It is a really cool product which allows me to play games I want on the 5200 and still continue collecting for 2600 exclusively. I have searched out quite a few roms for it and keep coming up with several that I cannot get to work, despite trying as many different versions as I can find. Some are official releases like Pitfall!, and some are conversions like Preppie and Junior Jumpman. Some are hacks like Pac Pollux. And still others are protos such as Sports Goofy. there are a few others that I can't remember. Are there known compatability issues with these titles? How about others that I shouldn't even bother with. I do know about the BBSB thing, and was wondering if my problems with these titles is similer. Any input would be helpful to this mid-thirties, fresh faced, wet-behind-the-ears newbie.
