  1. 2010 - V2.1

    2019 - V1.06

This version is a fork of the unreleased 1.05 version. :P With that being said 2 item-based bugs were inadvertently re-introduced. One causes the player to be stuck in a no-win situation resulting in either not being able to leave one particular area, or sure death depending on your circumstances. The other is caused by an item's parameters not being completely defined, resulting in strange output in one particular place. To activate the bugs you would need to do things with the items in an illogical manner. This game is just to make me laugh, and if it makes you laugh too then my job is done. But while we're at it I challenge anyone here to find the 2 bugs I mentioned. (Or any others...)

  2. Just got done playing this classic game again with the awesome storage edition. I've re-posted the image just in case you haven't tried it before. Big props and all credit to Chilly Willy for this of course. (Hit "A" on the menu to load the game. Use OPTION to access the storage menu once loaded.) I've also included my SAVE game disk. If you load save game 0, you just need to walk right and touch the guy playing the flute to see the end of the second Easter egg level. 3. Hello xucaen

IIRC Paul West.... (damn, can't remember the name. Might have been "Westphall" or something similar) is living in the US and repairing computers.

BTW get in contact with Jürgen (tf_hh here on AA) and by a "Sys-Check". It plugs into the back of the computer and will diagnose it.

    Sincerely

    Mathy

Sys-Check for the win. An amazing piece of hardware.

  4. Ok, here's the FIXED version, please download and share this new version, there was a serious bug with shooting, not all found it but for some it made the game too easy

A typo is also fixed (thanks Charlie!)

Kowalsky's Fury : Awesome game! Great playability. I love how the maze is different every time. I'd play this 100 times before Millionaire - regardless of it's slick graphics.

  5. emkay, your answer is always no.... so who cares what you say anymore

I can't run Sam's Journey without modifying my 64 or 128 for that matter... I have to buy REU or similar equipment.

Perhaps a modified Atari can do it...

Also Space Harrier and Tempest 2k (extreme etc) were impossible but now we have some of the best

and Movies with sound or color were also impossible..... all were done without modification... and became possible. and on and on.... I don't put much stock in you and what you think can or can't be... I only defer to you on matters of musicality and sound related issues concerning chip music/synth.

Please move on with your attempts to prevent anyone from discovering what's possible (or not) on this platform....

As always good call Doc. Whether you believe you can or you cannot, you will always be right. I enjoy loading up Time Pilot on my 130XE to remind myself of that. There is no modified hardware, just modified thinking. ;)

  6. @HOUDINI, I raised your privileges. ;)

You MAY ACCESS ANY AREA (NOT Including Section 31, of course)

    Access Granted.

    New Stuff Soon...

    .

    Edit: TYPO

Thanks Beavis! I plan on making the rounds on all 8-bit BBS's after the Labor Day holiday when I have some days off. It's awesome to relive those memories and talk with some of the people who shared them.

  7. After messing around here and there for a few years, I've made a commitment to myself to learn to program in the ACTION! language by OSS. I've paid a bit of money for the cart, runtime and library disks. There are a lot of good examples on the library disk, but I was wondering if anyone had any examples of source code that they wrote themselves that I could learn from? I don't learn well from reading manuals, and it would be easier for me to understand some code that I could actually have a dialogue with the programmer about. My previous programming experience is mostly in Atari Basic, and Turbo Basic XL. Thanks! :-D

  8. I have setup another ATR disk image to make the loading process for Micro Chess 2.0 to be as easy as possible for any XL/XE/GS user. Disable BASIC by holding OPTION when you boot. Just hit A to run the OS A translator (provided by The Doctor), then hit SELECT to reboot. Finally hit B to load the game itself. If you are using a 400/800 you MUST have an OS A operating system card installed. No two ways about it.

  9. I wasn't aware they did microchess 2 on the kim... I was only vaguely aware of some hacks to it... 1.3 1.4 1.5...... hmmm

Your atr is and an attemp to convert the tape to disk am I to presume...

Nevermind, it's not version 2.0 on the KIM. There are 5 or 6 data blocks unused on the Atari tape. Must be a way to get it to load the data. Even if not, it seems like a solid chess program.

  10. So I just got my shiny new Kryoflux board yesterday. I got it all set up with an old IBM drive that I cleaned up and it is working perfectly. I was so excited to watch it produce raw stream and .img files of my original Atari 8-bit Bruce Lee disk in less than a minute and a half! I couldn't wait to put in a blank disk and see if it could write a working copy of the disk, protection and all. Then comes the "cannot open image file" error... Did I do something wrong, I wonder to myself? Wait, what? The software can't write back the images it produces??? ??? I have to send them to the "Software Preservation Society" to have them decide if it is worth their time and effort to generate a writeable .ipf file for me? I don't mean to sound ungrateful, because the Kryoflux is truly a remarkable product, but is there ANY way I can build an .ipf file myself with a windows PC? I have a lot of my own data disks; my old BBS disks especially that have become unreadable through the years, that I would like to try to bring back from the dead with this product. Any ideas, links, suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
