    big sale

springcleaning at home ... i am selling off many games as i need some money to pay my rent .... check out my auctions.... http://cgi6.ebay.de/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?V...erid=travelfish greetings fish
  9. well, there was no more garfield today. i guess: a) it was a false one, and he allready ripped someone, keeping us in the dark b) he read our postings and found out that there's only one game ... and retracted his auction c) it was "the" real one, and tempest allready bought it off from him ...(let us know) the dukes of hazard should be a real one. notice that a lot of protos from atari were loose, only boxed by JerryG or Best Elec. in the mid 90ies. check tempests proto-pics on his site to be sure ... there you'll see how the roms looked like. also MaO can help you on this topic, even in german greetings fish
  10. BTW, i love my 2600 most too .... with the gameboy ... the position you're in when you play just really disturbs me. you have to be in a quite uncomfortable position and hold it in front of you, while all others are excluded to your game play. it's basically concieved as a one player game. and all others can't watch, mostly even not talk to you.that's what i mostly experience with kids. my girl is 5 y. old, and her elder friends are just like that when they play it.
  11. ref: yoko cart i dunno exactly ... the yoko's only difference is the switch i guess. i scanned all my other copycarts ... the unimex ones had bad labels so i ripped them off: you have the eproms straight on the front, and you can see every detail inside the rom. i bet the yoko funktions just the same, exept that it has an additional switch and probably just 2 eproms inside. the homevision set seems to work differently, using (battery) power to keep the games on the cart. i think when you take out the batteries, the game is off that cart again. for the yoko: i have 4 yoko carts, but they are all new, and i don't feel like opening one of them. i keep them in case i really need to copy something important .... so i won't be able to tell what's inside ...
  12. FofI: watch out, you're wacking up my anarchistic rebel spirit ... don't talk about TV shows and Commercials .... i don't even switch on my TV anymore for that type of stuff. i started collecting videos too, so that i don't "get sick" from all the bull on TV. I also think that the games nowadays suck, at least most of them. sure, there's many extras and special effects and whatever but not so much games have a real interesting gameplay. a friend of mine has a playstation any many many games he's trying out with me, but after five minutes i usually tell him ... "put micromachines in, or i'll go!" ... hehe, so since 5 or 6 years my favorite game is micromachines on that system. most of the newer games are more fun to play in real arcade versions with the appropriate controller, seat, etc .... also all those gameboy-kids don't look thrilled when they play, it rather looks like their brain is sleeping ... don't think that game was really made to entertain kids, rather just occupy them. it's just loosing time ..... had the industry planned that? back again for some conspiracy .... hehe, check out that site ... http://www.rtmark.com/
  13. it's crazy how long the cartridges last ... while my CDs (backups from my mac) from 92-93 start to dissolve (some don't work anymore)! yes, the CDs get little bubbles on the golden surface, making it impossible to read them. that corrosion really sucks.... ... i should have made my backups on unimex or yoko cartridges so i case you backup your roms and atari-data on CD, make a fresh copy every 5 years!!!
  14. isn't spider-kong something else? it's a goliath game (i have here) and that has a purple text label with the goliath logo.
  15. i found a pitfall box smaller than the regular one, and a little darker green. the size isn't like the regular packages, it smaller, just like the HES vinyl paks. thought you meant this one when you were talking about odd pitfall packages.
  16. here's another weird thing: i have 7 pack-kongs, i know there's no. 8 existing too from goliath. homevision did also the same label with a completely different game. goliath's is a variation of the game with other graphics and .... really strange ... the playfield in the middle is replaced by numbers, and i just couldn't manage to get any further than the first two numbers, can't climb higher. check out the pic
  17. damn, he was soooo wrong. i live in berlin/germany and it's soon loveparade again (think you heard about it), so all these pacmans will invade our town, running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music. and i can't switch of that giant TV in front of me ...
  18. as i started this topic, i want to define more or less the rules of our little contest .... distinct variations are needed: different typos, colors or designs, or other casing ... and it needs to be the same game ... otherwise i could say lock'n'chase is also a variation of pacman anyway, i don't count the pacmans from dactar, at least not the ones in multicarts, stuff like that isn't counting ... you could just find too many variations, as the combinations seem endless (at least with dactar and digivision carts) you should not need to explain the difference when seeing a picture. the difference should be obvious. i don't really know about these small mattel difference, only that there is the white labels, and the black ones, either from so for now, marco is the "label-don" until now. me and tempest are second place, i just got my goliath version of pac kong in a trade, so i am at 8 too. (i don't count the homevision game) BTW, only the ones you really have count, not the ones you had, or that you possibly could have. small scans must be posted as proof. i will prepare a little reward for the winner
  19. hehe, not in frisco
  20. i have time warp here, but i can't really say what it exactly is .... wasn't there a time warp by suntek or goliath called the same? hehe, yes! i found it! it's astro attack ... but now comes the surprise, they only used the illustration ... how weird is this? the game is more atlantis like ... here's a pic
  21. the link is on the other posting. it's a dead link, but you can go one folder back, and then find the indexpage again .... last year, we had a similar handshake for deejays: one guy makes a thumb in one hand, and leaves the other hand open and flat. the other guy is then scratching on the open hand, using the thumb as crossfader
  22. to scooterb23: just set your search engine at ebay to look for it ... as easy as that. to tempest: do you really think you'll get rich from selling atari games that you have to produce first, maybe even programm? i don't think hozer games for 15$ will bring you a lot back .... the few dollars won't be enough to cover all the work, mailing, shipping and discussions with other atarifans. then you maybe start also trading, then at the end you have even just 60% of the small ammount you planned to make ... i guess the only one that made a good deal was justin from atari7800.com ripping everybody. he ripped me on two HSC carts .... i am quite sure marc has tried to contact the programmer. if would have started combat II 15 years ago, and i find somebody finishing my game, then i'll be so happy to have my own copy. that would be more than enough for me ... i'd be really happy to know that some people are still paying attention to my forgotten work ... also about copyrights: they make sure a big company get most of the revenues while the programmers only get a portion of what they deserve when the game really sells well. why did all good programmers leave atari? to Sark: thanx for the idea, but i had that one before. after 15 min. i felt really stupid, sitting there in front of my cartridge with the hairdryer set on 3 (maximum). only the small labels when off even without the hairdryer, what a mess ... i read one about a guy doin some hardcore tests with a cartridge to proove they are incredibly strong. one point was boiling them So today, i'll "cook" my first atari cart! what's on the menue today? Phoenix con carne, maybe some frogger salad!
  23. i posted this last week, but the link didn't work. now it's on my ftp. enjoy ...
