  1. then it's probably a taiwan bootleg with this v-shaped handle ... could be ... my "dragon attack" is like that, although it has the same "skull island" label that "space grid" from zeller.
  2. got the frogger (hes) boxed here, if you#re interested in a trade ...
  3. forget your taboos ... what marc is doing is pretty close to the quote in my signature ... he preserves/accomplishes something that would be forgotten long time ago, if you look at it just in a business way .... by producing those carts people like marc, or randy from hozer, won't make much money i think .... when you think of how much these guys invest in their collection .... it's a lot of work doing all these labels, roms, ... i am preparing an exhibition with 20 fake labels, and just getting the old labels off is hell !!! (any good helping infos are welcome!) ..... i guess a lot of people would be happy to play the "last" games .... see it that way. everything after the crash is an extra part .... the prototypes, specialy the unfinished ones, are the last games from the atari-era that could "reappear" in form of a finished version .... and a lot of games were based on bootlegging another game by changing graphics and game content if you're honest. (pack man,lock-n-chase,taz,asterix,obelix ...) .... and when marketing, copyrights and all that was introduced by warner ... isn't that the time when all the goos programmers left? i bet the copyright revenues were much worse that what they were earning by themselves ... so pray for more people doin new games, finding more protos and finishing them, all over the next 40 years ..... so we still will be all around here with our white hairs and post us messages ... we're the ones that keep it alive! would you fly to another country for a matchbox car, or to see most of the kenner star wars sets you allready know? no, it's the atari-feeling that rules ... and it always spreads around: just yesterday i had a friend (thinking sega was the oldest console ). "wow, that's an atari" were the last words before he got stuck 2 hours on beamrider ...
  4. "Art is shit if you can't play with it"!
  5. (thanx specially to marco, ian, roques and jens for helping me getting all this together)
  6. i don't touch mine either. never even tried the last i got: buck rogers from sega it got a nice single case and a safe place ... it has such a nice label, i would never think of opening it!
  7. damn, i have traded my other regular pacmans (red label & silver label) otherwise i could come up to even more pac-mans ... hehe, so after doing a little research on all my braz carts, i found 13 pacmans ... still i title marco as "variation-don", having only single games, while 4 of mine are multigame-carts from brasil ... greetings fish
  8. hehe ... something i just found on the net ... great ideas for variations if you like it, gimme an atari-shake the atari handshake !!!
  9. could be a funny topic .... how's the variation king? i have 7 different variations of Pak Kong, 6 of donkey kong .... what is the cart you have most variations of?
  10. if you're into flash sites ... check out www.flashplanet.com they have many tutorials and ready-to-use source files that you can just download and use ... there a guy called mook in the uk, he's got some pretty good tips on his site, but i can't find his link right know ...maybe you'll find him with a search engine ..
  11. good to read that about the Retrotopia games (Sea Battle and Swordfight). so it looks like you must ask them twice to check the game before they send it !?!? i planned to order some, but i will just try to get the roms and save them onto eproms, after i managed to install myself a rom-dump- and copy-station .... hehe, don't put these roms online (might be to stressfull with them) but send them to all those crazy rom-collectors like matthias, hozervideo .... so it spreads around ...
  12. hey joel and george, you two should come to the eurocon, so we see us all ... and can play a round of dectahlon together. greetings fish
  13. well as i understand this letter, they (him and a group of programmers) were working on the magiCard game at a company who had in the meantime changed the name to computer magic. maybe the programmer division was split from the company and called that way. or maybe he left comavid and run his own little company called that way. try finding out leo's adress from that website. he should be able to solve the mistery. maybe he can even supply us with some nice comavid stuff ...
  14. this picture i found on the net made me think that we should maybe take back our jokes about garfield .... http://www.ataricentral.com/gal2600/carts/GARFIELD.jpg what do you think? is bira-bira with him?
  15. damn, i wish leo's adress was on that letter
  16. are you the creator of these carts, curt? i wonder as they said they did most of it, including the design ... also george reese told me he's been waiting ages for his stuff. seems they promise thing they can't realise ....
  17. i have just phoned with maO. funny, at the same time your posting appears ... he said that all carts sold before 94 were originals, the newer ones tend to be all copies ... it may be a few of your quadruns are only copies, watch out ... best way to find out is to check the weight of the cart ... they should be heavier than regular carts, the old eproms were much heavier than the new copies ... also doublecheck with tempest's site, he's got a very nice listing with many pics, so you can check out how the eprom is looking. hope this helps i wonder if all these brandnew texas chainsaw massacre carts are that rare, when there's nearly 1 sold every week . or are the just aftercrash production that was never sold ...? i guess i wasn't that easy for the shops selling the game "under the desk" ...
  18. bob had probably too much soda drumroll ...? ... he meant hashroll ... have a joint and forget it quickly! ... eh ... what? .... warfield? ... damn, i forgot that posting ...
  19. i found them through http://www.atari7800.com/ they were supposed to ship 3 months ago, then said they sent by surface instead of airmail 2 months ago, since 1 month i don't get any reply to my mails, and since yesterday i start loosing the hope that my things will appear ... they should be ashamed, i just went on their site and they are selling MY boxed mission impossible there!!! i hope none of the readers here will order it from them. they have more stuff from me there also .... the prices also are real high, i wonder in comparison if that HSC cart is really worth that much ... i hope this will be cleared soon, i don't want to post any negative warnings or stuff like that ... thanx for any assistance. doesn't anybody know them?
  20. nobody else knoews them?
  21. did anybody have any experience with the guys from 7800.com ? i did a trade with them. i had dealed with justin, chuck and charles .... i sent them rare 7800-stuff worth 2 highscore carts. by airmail, insured .... and i am now waiting since two months, and they don't reply to my mails anymore .... :-( can anybody help? does anybody know them?
  22. if i would be you, i'd leave quadrun at home, and get 10 pac-mans signed. keep one for you and trade the other nine for some nice items. i am sure you'll get a uncommon/rare game worth 10-15$ for a signed pacman ... but don't expect "holy grail prices" for example, i bought all 20 atariforce comix + a special edtition autographed by the inker. got it for 30$ all complete, the professional comic seller said it's so expensive because of the signed book. i had to laugh because i had seen previously the AF #1 alone for 18$ at ebay once ... on the other side, for the picture i prepared for that signed star wars contest (see homepage) has allready costed me more than 40$ of investments so the most important for any of these carts, signed or not, is .... OUR ATARIMANIA MUST SURVIVE !!!
  23. i read that a lot of games were programmed back then on the apple //e. i have one i may sell to any interested person, shipping (insured) of the item would be about 35$ international and 23$ in europe, another 2$ for sending it registrated. not too hard. here's the setup: Apple //e NTSC 2 Diskdrives 5.25. APL C Board (5) Controllercard (6) Controllercard Uni for Disk 5.25 Z80 CPU-Karte (3+4) Data-CPU:Zilog Z8400B PS Z80B CPU 8342 Data card: R2E II, REV A, Copyright by Microsoft here's a picture: i also have a macmainfame DX interface, that's supposed to connect a PDP-11 to an apple 2 but i haven't tried. i haven't much knowledge of the apple 2 left nad no software ... i'll add that item on top also, it's with cables, without the external power unit (probably no big problem) let me know if you are interested, [email protected]
  24. i think these are also available at www.worldofatari.com ... the have some nice stuff too ....
