  1. Does anyone know where to buy an Asteroids/Missile Command cartridge for a reasonable price?
  2. I have used Displex Classic with success on a mildy scratched Lynx display. If the scratches are deep it won't work though.
  3. I just remembered something, maybe an idea for those of you who are going to install the LCD mod: to insulate the VGA plug screws I used heat shrinking tube instead of hot glue - very easy to use.
  4. Nathan: scratch remover works, if the scratches are not too deep. I used it on a Lynx screen recently (I used Displex). Before: After:
  5. Modded my Lynx II with this mod. All went well! AMAZING image quality! My son did all the soldering (he does it for a job, he’s very skilled). It took us two sessions: 1,5 and 2 hours, so 3,5 hours in total. Desoldering is a bit tricky, soldering was easy, but getting the VGA connector mounted was the most difficult part actually: filing -> dust everywhere. The plastic dust was also behind the screen inside the casing, we had to remove the front to get rid of all the dust. Please note, there is a small error in the install guide: the VGA connector is shown as 'inside' and 'outside', but the image isn't mirrored as it should be. Just take a good look at the pin numbers, then you'll do fine. McWill, thanks for this high quality mod! Very well done. Bluemonday: I have spare Lynx II transparent plastic screen cover, you may have it for just the shipping costs. Send me a PM please.
  6. Crystal Mines II is one of my favorites, played it for hours. I think it's one of the most underrated games for the Lynx. Kinda Boulder Dash, love it.
  7. Did you, by accident, plug your AC adapter into the headphones connector? Is so, you might have fried the chips and your Lynx is lost forever.
  8. Try playing with batteries, try a different power supply (1 amp / 1000 mA preferred). Clean the contacts of the slot. Just my 2 cents... Cheers
  9. Did you turn the screen brightness knob? If you turn it "too far", it will display the colors negative. Cheers, Insert Coin
  10. I don't have an AC adapter for my Lynx to test that with for comparison. Do you have a Lynx I or II? I own a Lynx II.
  11. It's not a bad game at all! For my kids and me it is one of the most popular games (and I own 68 Lynx games). I think it's a fun game with well built levels. It has secret corridors as well, as my son found out lately. No music, but that gets annoying mostly. I just love the p-tsshh with the sword . Cheap and good.
  12. Yes, I have. My Road Blasters won't get past the starting screen when I run my Lynx on an adapter, but runs fine on batteries! The adapter isn't an original one, but one with lower amperage (too light for a Lynx I guess). Strange but true.
  13. Try connecting the battery minus to the headphone ground (shield) - with batteries inserted your Lynx should power on and stay on with the "Insert game" message. If it does that, there is still life in it. Then go through Karri's tips. - Insert Coin -
