Nintendo is the last true gaming company that produces a console is what he meant.

TBird...Haha, a few games come to mind you could mess with!
Supercross 3D!
and well, Checkered Flag was another one mentioned.. but wasn't that Rebellions first game for the Jag?
Clint Thompson
I think you're right. It was their first game. The sad thing is that I liked the majority of the game when it came out. The models were nice, the tracks had nice scenery, the effects were nice (like the rain, etc.) and cool music. The part I think they really missed with the game was the control and the AI.
The AI sucked in AvP too, so maybe that was their weak area?
That would be my guess also, and it's most unfortunate, as a game's controls tend to have much more influence on the overall fun factor of a game than any of the aesthetical touches do.

Hehe, I think Nintendo would be the worst of any company to obtain Sega. I'd like to see Sega progress, not be stuck in current status for life
Don't get me wrong, Sega kicks ass right now, but Nintendo would stifle them big time. And besides, N would only acquire them to stop competition, much like EA would, and that eliminates creativity. Not a good thing for us gamersHow do you figure? I think of all the companies in question here, Nintendo would be by far the best choice to NOT stifle Sega. Both EA and MS have a far worse reputation than Nintendo as far as stifling properties that they've acquired.

By the way, BTHOTU, nice avatar. All I have to say to that is....

There are tons of forums that look like this one, but there is only one Jaguar Interactive. If you don't get it, don't visit.

That is true, but it would be nice if JI2 would modernize at some point. What really sucks about it is that there's no history (old posts are gone for good once they disappear) and that there's no way to view threads as a whole. Plus, it REALLY needs more moderation. Way too many trolls and flame wars have made JI2 a painful experience at times. I'm not wishing it would go away; I've been on there too long. I just wish it would get cleaned up a little.

Oh yeah, add Overworks to that list too.

-
I'd rather see Sega die than gobbled up by EA or MS. Personally, I think Nintendo should at least step in and snatch up Sonic Team and AM2 before Sega's out of the picture.

Why do protos only become available whenever I'm broke???

Reading this title, I thought this would be about STOS, the BASIC development package for the ST.

From what I understand, it requires an internal mod to the unit in order to be able to do so. I know someone announced a mod a few years ago, but that was all I heard about it. Does anyone remember what I'm talking about? I wanna say it was Wizztronics, but my memory just ain't what it used to be.

It's definitely nice to see progress happening on these emulators. Now if only someone would port one or the other to the Mac...

-
I thought someone would bitch about thatGood thing you were wrong, eh?
How was he wrong?
-
I thought someone would bitch about that so I used only the internal register size of the GPU. Few people believe the GPU has 64-bit access for some reason. Then couldn't you make a case for the 68000 being a 32 bit processor, as it's internal registers are 32 bit?

I always thought the grey/blue controllers were for the STE/Falcon030 market. I guess the idea was to release them before the Jaguar. Obviously they never did and used them for dev kits instead?Yes they were. I remember seeing a picture of the grey controllers along with the Falcon, well before the Jaguar was officially announced. Of course, there's no telling whether or not they shipped to anyone before the Jag came out.

Thanks, Matthias!

CPUWIZ - Thanks!
Just out of curiosity, what important information is actually contained in this document, as far as developing Lynx games go?
-
I wouldn't quite consider Battlewheels rare, just in high demand. Lately the going rate on eBay seems to be a bit lower than what I paid for it about 8 months ago. I would highly recommend picking it up, as it's a blast to play. You'll be missing out on a lot of fun, however, if you don't have anyone else to play it against. It's yet another Lynx game that's at it's best as multiplayer.
-
Do you have it posted anywhere online, CPUWIZ?

I have both the GameCube and PS2, and my brother has an XBox. I've by far been the happiest with my GameCube, though. The PS2 only seems to come in handy on the few exclusive games that it has, while the XBox doesn't seem to get much that I can't get on either the other consoles or the PC.
-
I think it would be good if it were donated to a site like, um, say, AtariAge?
Or at least some site that already has good scans and such of other development documents. I'd really like to see the info in this too. -
I think it depends on both the number of rounds and the number of enemy "waves" that it's gone through. The first and second stages seem to end automatically once you've gone a certain number of rounds. The third and fourth stages, however, seem to count out waves of enemies. I think you can theoretically go on forever if you don't kill a certain number once you're in the third stage.

Last time I checked, this was AtariAge, not JI2. Guys, can we please stop? I'd hate to have to ask a moderator to lock this thread, considering that it had nothing to do with what everyone's fighting about....

Rumor has it one of the reason's the game's been delayed is so you can use the voice communicator (from Live) on multi-player game play.No comment.

Be prepared for the usual hype machine that tells you practically nothing. According to this article, the PS3 will be up to 1,000 times more powerful than the top-of-the-line computers of today. Didn't I hear the same thing about the PS2?
