    Live Wire

This is pretty interesting, but I think I'm missing something...what's the story behind this game, exactly? I can't even find the auction on ebay.
  2. Landing is quite difficult to pull off at first, but isn't too bad once you figure out how to do it. The trick is to be going as slow as possible as close to the barn as possible. Also, make sure you are landing at YOUR barn, and not one of your opponents! You simply can't land at an opponent's barn, and you'll either crash or get shot down if you try it. Of course, it's quite common to get shot down while trying to land at your own or taking off from it, so go figure.

    Rampart

I must really suck at Rampart...I've never made it past the last section of the fourth island!
  4. I guess they don't have the actual Assembler Editor docs scanned? I'll have to scan them myself and submit them...
  5. I'm wondering what software used it too. I wanted one pretty badly back in the day, but never found out whether or not my word processor of choice back then (Bank Street Writer) supported it or not. Still wouldn't mind picking one up for cheap, just to check it out.
  6. Just out of curiosity, what brand is that cable that you're using? I'm using a cheapo Pelican cable that I bought for $3 on clearance, and it works great on my Wega. However, something tells me not to be surprised if you're using the same one.
  7. I use an InterAct S-Video/Composite switchbox that I bought on sale from EB for $14. I have my GC hooked up through S-Video and my Jag, Neo Geo, and TG-16 all running through composite, and it works great! In my experience, I'd stay away from anything from Pelican. They have a reputation of making pretty cheap products, in both price and quality. Funny that I say that, though, as the S-Video cable for my GC is Pelican...
  8. This link seems to work fine. Just remove the "www" from the original URL posted and it should work. I haven't had much time to peruse the site, but has anyone offered up any Jag game remixes? I know of several that would work pretty well...
  9. No, but the PC sure does...for FREE. Does it have to be? Not that I would play it on the GC even if it were available, as I'd much rather play it on my PC in the way it was meant to be played (mouse and keyboard) instead of with a controller. Oh yeah, and I can play it online for FREE. Plenty of it on my PC...and for FREE. It's probably in your best interests to not do so, as you still haven't shot down anything I said. You obviously didn't read my post. Please do so before accusing me of making any baseless arguments. It's like the pot calling the kettle black. You are getting way too touchy about any criticisms of the Xbox, an argument which you've only strengthened by your reply. Again, I urge you to reread my last post. I didn't have many complimentary things to say about the GC or PS2 either. Take a chill pill and relax. It's only a game.
  10. Geez, some people's level of fanaticism towards a huge console with pretty graphics but crap games is getting to be disturbing. Seems to me that no Xbox fanboys can take criticism of their beloved console. Well folks, here's the thing: IT'S JUST A CONSOLE. And not a particularly thrilling one for many of us on here. There is nothing special that it does that isn't done better elsewhere. PERIOD. As for the other two mainstream consoles, it seems to me that we as consumers are seeing much more crapware and rehashware than usual, as evidenced by E3. Granted, there are some games worth looking forward to (Halo 2, Rogue Squadron 3, FFX-2, FF:CC) but those are becoming quite few and far between. I think it's about time for another crash, personally....something really needs to shake up the console market and allow us to start becoming excited about it again. I don't know, maybe I'm just getting too old for video games now...
  11. He said he was coding his Jag game in C++ using Project Builder in Linux.
  12. or on acid Hahahahahahaha some more on line laughter Oh and I should point out it wasn't sarcastic, I really was laughing my ass off (Of course I'd just seen the Halo 2 in-game demo and Ninja Gaiden trailer that made me say HOLY SHIT, Batman) Some people are easily amused, I guess.
  13. AARGH! I'm so sick of stealthy shooters. I want a GOOD death match. Give me Quake III. Give me Unreal Tournament. Hell, even give me a decent port of DOOM II! Looks like you have the wrong systems Yes, I agree. Nothing beats a PC for FPS deathmatch games.
  14. Well whenever you guys do get around to finally releasing some of these, there will be plenty of us eagerly waiting to snatch them up! I think having some new releases would help kickstart the Lynx forum again, which would be nice.
  15. While that's kinda true, it shouldn't take 3 pages of saying the same thing over and over. I agree that it's shady to do things like that, and it drives me nuts that people always have to try to squeeze every last penny that they can, which ruins the hobby for the rest of us. BUT, let's just give this one a rest already. I'm tired of seeing the constant bickering, complaining, and insults being thrown around on a HOBBY message board. This really is just a hobby, folks. No need to take it so seriously.
  16. Jesus Christ, folks, can we just end this? Please? Continuously bitching about this will do nothing to solve the problem. If you have a problem with the way he ran his auction, complain to eBay. Complaining on here isn't going to do anybody a damn bit of good. Give it a rest already, please.
  17. Just wondering if there's any kind of mailing list set up for 8 bit/5200 developers, similar to the Stella mailing list for the 2600 developers. I'm working on a project, and would certainly like an easy way of communicating with other 8bit developers in a semi-private manner. Anyone know of one?
  18. Chalk me up to being yet another who has never owned E.T. I used to want it as a kid, until I played it. However, even now I've still managed to not get a copy. One of these days I probably should, just as an eternal reminder of how crappy games can actually be.
  19. Actually I think that was a hack for the game. If I'm remembering correctly, you first booted the ST with the "hack" disk, and then inserted the Time Bandits disk when prompted. It's been a while, though, so I may not be remembering correctly.
  20. Bill Gates had nothing to do with Apple's cash surplus, nor did Microsoft save Apple from bankruptcy. All that happened was that M$ purchased $150 Million worth of Apple stock (non-voting shares, might I add), and agreed to port MS Office to the Mac for 5 years. Believe me, though, that $150 Million is chump change compared to the $4 billion+ that Apple currently has in the bank. You can either view it that way, or view it in a way that Apple has 100% of the alternative computer market. I still laugh whenever people throw in marketshare numbers when describing how big Apple currently is. And I wouldn't put it past Nintendo to manage to do the exact same thing as Apple: hold a small percentage of it's "market" while remaining profitable. When you combine the GBA's numbers with the GC's numbers, Nintendo has over 50% of the market, from what I recall. That's hardly being in a bad position.
  21. I checked it out but didn't see anything that answered davidcalgary's question. Anyone happen to hear anything from the developers if this game was even started?
  22. Wow, that's looking pretty sweet! I'd love to see what it looks like in action. Keep up the good work!
  23. I seriously doubt we'll see Info-Atari release any hardware anytime soon. Although seriously, I really don't think it'd be a bad idea to release a repackaged limited/special edition 2600 as a limited promotional item. Something like that would definitely make its way into headlines, which would be nothing but good for Atari-grames.
  24. I think there's plenty of us Americans who'd like to see many of those Polish games. I've downloaded some disk images of a few Eastern Europe games and demos, and what I've seen so far has been QUITE impressive.
