  1. You can make that 4 if you include the XE Game System, 5 depending on what you'd consider the Lynx (8 or 16 bit)
  2. I'm looking to get rid of my VHS movies, as I've totally moved to DVD, and figured that someone out there would possibly like to buy them, or perhaps make a trade. Here's the list: Transformers: The Movie Saving Private Ryan Monty Python and the Holy Grail VHS Anime: Landlock Part 1 Royal Space Force: The Wings on Honneamise Golgo 13: Queen Bee Ninja Scroll Ghost in the Shell Perfect Blue Sword for truth Email or PM me with any offers.
  3. Unfortunately, I can't help you out with much info. I believe the switch on the back of the system is for either an accellerater or for switching between two different TOS ROM chips. As far as the memory goes, I really can't help you out. The 4 meg upgrade that I had in my old STf was a solderless upgrade card populated with standard 1 Meg SIMM chips. That's the only ST memory upgrade I'm familiar with.
  4. Are you sure your European Lynx carts don't just need some cleaning? The only time I've seen that same problem is when the contacts are dirty. A simple cleaning of them usually does the trick.
  5. I think Zelda is the one game that most people have been waiting for since the GC was released. It's nice to hear that it's already selling well through pre-orders!
  6. From B&C's website (www.myatari.com): JAGDEV JAGUAR DEVELOPERS MANUAL 30.00 JAGMOD Jaguar with developers ROM 99.00 JAGALP Jaguar ALPINE board 550.00 = $679 The extras that come with the ebay auction such as the controller and RF switch are cheap items that would push the total from B&C to about $700. I'm assuming the test/demo cart listed on the auction is a flash cart, which (if it was available) would probably push the total amount to a little past $800. However, I don't see too many people fighting over this auction when they at least know they can purchase these items from B&C (a reputable dealer) for at least the same amount. I dunno, maybe I'm just tired of seeing stuff being sold for insane prices....
  7. The solo game is completely awesome, especially if you're a fan of the game Star Raiders. I would suggest buying it if you can find a copy for sale, even if you can't network with others.
  8. That seems a bit expensive for a Jag Dev setup. You can buy these same components from B&C for ~$100 less than the starting bid, let alone the BIN. I guess we gotta try soaking even the budding developers now.
  9. GOVmole, I would definitely be interested in Missile Command 3D, if that's up for trade/sale. PM me if interested.
  10. Why not? Haven't you ever dreamed of surfing the web from your Lynx?
  11. Thanks for sharing those with us! You should leave some expanded reviews of games in this thread.
  12. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...0&category=1250 Not mine.
  13. Thanks for that link, ZylonBane. It's interesting to see that they ported it from the PC/PSX/SAT (Saturn?) code base, and in C.
  14. For me, trying to rate Atari's consoles against each other is like trying to rate three different Ferraris against each other. I love them all, and can't just pick one over the other. So here's my list of them all and why I like them: 2600 - My first game console, has stayed with me for the 20* years that I've owned it. 5200 - Played a good number of games, but I absolutely despise the controllers 7800 - Has plenty of good games in it's own right AND plays 2600 games! 8bit computers - My 130XE was my first computer, and is what I learned how to program on. Also had MANY games that I enjoyed playing. ST - Was my main computer throughout high school, and played many great games on it. Lynx - Literally had to wait several years before I got one, but was worth every second of that wait! Jaguar - Atari's last system, and everyone at the time pretty much knew it. I poured my heart and soul into promoting it to my friends, and enjoyed countless hours on it. In fact, I never really ever stopped playing it!
  15. Which original Lynx games are you referring to? Your list has four different games released I believe within the Lynx's first year on the market.
  16. This reminds me, I still need to get Protector:SE...and Skyhammer...and Hyper Force....and...and...man, I wish I wasn't broke!!
  17. Any monitor that accepts inputs through RCA jacks should work.
  18. Not to try disagreeing with you, Jetbook Jack, but you can still find older monitors with screens that are still in good condition. Granted, most new TVs like what you mentioned will look better, but you can find an older monitor for pretty cheap, depending on where you go.
  19. Using a monitor tends to result in a much cleaner and more vibrant picture, especially if it connects through S-Video or RGB. You can get a good picture on a TV also, just as long as you're not having to connect through RF.
  20. What sites are you people using?? I think most people consider gamerankings.com to be THE site for figuring out the average reviews for console and PC games. Here's the top 10 list from that site: 1. Zelda: Ocarina of Time - N64 2. Metroid Prime - NGC 3. Soul Calibur - DC 4. Half-Life - PC 5. Zelda: The Wind Waker - NGC 6. Goldeneye - N64 7. Gran Turismo - PSX 8. Halo - XBox 9. Grand Theft Auto III - PS2 10. Tekken 3 - PSX
  21. I wish I could find a TT030 at a thrift around here.... That's a pretty nice find.
  22. Thunderbird is correct. I honestly don't know why anyone is still trying to argue this point.
  23. The 3DO would've ate it with just a few slight enhancements to the Jag's architecture, namely more cache for the GPU, a 68030 instead of the 68000, and perhaps even a tad bit more memory.
  24. I guess it really depends on what your expectations of the Jaguar were. There's probably a few things you should keep in mind about it. Although it was proclaimed to be (and really is) the first "64 bit" system, it came out a good deal of time before most of the other consoles of it's day, namely the Playstation and the N64. As has been the case pretty much throughout video gaming history, consoles that have come out later tend to be more powerful, as was definitely the case with the aforementioned systems. While the Jaguar isn't as powerful as those two systems, it was certainly far more powerful than the systems that were already well established at that time, namely the Genesis and the SNES. A game like AvP, while certainly not anything near what you saw several years afterwards on the PS and N64, was certainly a far cry from anything seen before on a gaming console. Just try to keep that in mind while waiting for the graphics to impress you. As far as game suggestions, here's a few of mine: Hover Strike - More akin to something you'd see on the Saturn or PS (graphically) Missile Command 3D - same as above Rayman - Released at the same time (and just as good as) the Saturn and PS versions, yet was actually finished for a while before then Iron Soldier - Another impressive game for it's time BattleSphere - no need to say anything about this one If you're ever tempted to get a Jag CD (which I would actually advise), here's a couple of suggestions: Hover Strike: Unconquered Lands - Looks and plays better than the cartridge game Battlemorph - WAAAAYYYYYY better than Cybermorph, it's predecessor. Iron Soldier 2 - Great looking game. Also on cartridge, but the CD version is better Highlander - This one is kinda iffy on the gameplay front, but definitely does look good
  25. I'd love at least one of those Lynx games. I don't have any of the ones you listed, and all three are ones I've been trying to get ahold of for quite a while.
