Atari Handy Specifications & binder: anybody want it?
Sauron replied to El Destructo's topic in Atari Lynx
CPUWIZ - Thanks! Just out of curiosity, what important information is actually contained in this document, as far as developing Lynx games go? -
I wouldn't quite consider Battlewheels rare, just in high demand. Lately the going rate on eBay seems to be a bit lower than what I paid for it about 8 months ago. I would highly recommend picking it up, as it's a blast to play. You'll be missing out on a lot of fun, however, if you don't have anyone else to play it against. It's yet another Lynx game that's at it's best as multiplayer.

Atari Handy Specifications & binder: anybody want it?

Do you have it posted anywhere online, CPUWIZ? -
You can also order one from the AtariAge store. Try clicking here.

I have both the GameCube and PS2, and my brother has an XBox. I've by far been the happiest with my GameCube, though. The PS2 only seems to come in handy on the few exclusive games that it has, while the XBox doesn't seem to get much that I can't get on either the other consoles or the PC.

Atari Handy Specifications & binder: anybody want it?
Sauron replied to El Destructo's topic in Atari Lynx
I think it would be good if it were donated to a site like, um, say, AtariAge? Or at least some site that already has good scans and such of other development documents. I'd really like to see the info in this too. -
I think it depends on both the number of rounds and the number of enemy "waves" that it's gone through. The first and second stages seem to end automatically once you've gone a certain number of rounds. The third and fourth stages, however, seem to count out waves of enemies. I think you can theoretically go on forever if you don't kill a certain number once you're in the third stage.

Last time I checked, this was AtariAge, not JI2. Guys, can we please stop? I'd hate to have to ask a moderator to lock this thread, considering that it had nothing to do with what everyone's fighting about....

I'm still waiting on mine to arrive...
-
I've been looking for that game too, but it's always managed to elude me.
-
A friend of mine's roommates both work for Digital Anvil, the development house working on this game. I've been hearing status reports for the last year and a half, and all I can say is I'm really not sure how this game is gonna turn out. They've changed directions with it so much it's not even funny.

JI2, or Jaguar Interactive 2, was the main hub for Jag enthusiasts for many years. I've been on it for over 5 years myself, while some people were on the original Jaguar Interactive message board several years before that. It's main problem is that it's mostly been unmoderated, which allowed all kinds of trolls and flamewars to linger on well past their expiration date. Since this board is pretty well moderated, there generally isn't ever a problem here.

I think it's a stretch saying that the character models had 3,000 polys to them.

Honestly, eBay would probably be your best bet. You should also try checking at some local independent video game stores, if you have any in your area. As for games, there's several threads in here about everyone's favorites, but I'll give you a short list of mine: Warbirds Battlewheels Rygar Ninja Gaiden Blue Lightning Gates of Zendocon Rampart Shadow of the Beast
-
The Neo Geo also had the benefit of being officially supported for a MUCh longer period of time than the Jaguar. It's amazing what those programmers were able to pull out of that architecture for over a decade, but it still doesn't compare to the raw power of the Jag.
-
I'll agree, this forum is much better than JI2 any day of the week. It does help that AA is moderated...
-
Same here, feel free to shoot me a message on AIM if you're up for chatting!
-
The only things I really disagree with are the score for Ultra Vortek (it's a MUCH better game than Kasumi Ninja) and the comment about the Jag being a poor system. The rest of the things they said, though, were spot on. Would you really recommend a Jaguar to a fighting game fanatic? Neither would I.

Digital Press Collector's Guide NOT on AtariAge
Sauron replied to digitalpress's topic in Gaming Publications and Websites
Since you are all obviously too lazy to do this for yourselves, I guess I'll do it for you. Please read this before making any more self-righteous comments. As you'll see, I made the same mistake myself. -
Your best bet is to try working out a trade with someone, which is what I did. You'll end up having to settle for a used JagCD if that will work for you. Brand new ones are just way too expensive and definitely aren't worth the $150+ that you'd have to pay for it. FWIW, I got two different JagCD's for $50, one working, one not.

Digital Press Collector's Guide NOT on AtariAge

Like MacGurl said, read up on some of the threads that started up back in August (I think) regarding Atari Joe. Doing that and checking out his website should clue you in on him a little. -
Why doesn't Nintendo do this?
Sauron replied to Nintendo Penguin's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Nintendo did create an adapter for the SNES to play GameBoy games back in the day. They're also creating an adapter for the GameCube to play GBA games, and I believe it's due out in March/April. -
Please, guys, let's try not to turn this into the JI2 flame-a-thon that this subject has become.
-
Remember, this is all mostly before Nintendo started their current promotion (free game w/ GC). From what I understand, GC sales have jumped up by quite a bit since the start of that promotion. I don't know how many GC games will show up on the Top 10 list, but I'd imagine we'll see a drastic improvement in monthly sales.
