The Linux community seems to be a bit more optimistic in general about the Ataribox than it appears most of the people here are: https://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/72jgn5/atari_are_launching_a_new_gaming_system_the/

Sometimes I wonder if English is your native language. Apparently your memory is also faulty. Thunderbird didn't "leave" AA, he was outright banned from here. Yes, he and his followers initially settled over at Curt Vendel's form, but the flamewars rose up again there, which prompted Curt to restructure the forum. That's when Jay Smith created JSII, in order to give Thunderbird an opportunity to continue trolling the Jag community. Jaguar Interactive II predated all of the other forums, and it's where the Jag community as a whole typically congregated online before moving over here.

Keep making comments like that and I'm going to boot you from the thread.

Judging by the administration and network tools for the forum, that user is not someone who has previously posted on AA and their IP is from a legitimate provider. Anyways, this thread has run its course. Locking as requested.

Again, I agree 100% with Clint. He makes some really valid points here. On top of that, I'll say this for Clint...I've known him back since the JI2 days, and not once in all of this time have I ever seen him participate in any kind of Jagudrama. The fact that he's speaking out here means some of us should probably listen.

To be fair, I think it offers more to the customer than some other cart releases that have been sold in the past. Mad Bodies, anyone?
-
Let's be real here, he's obviously put some kind of effort into this games, even if it's not as much as most of us would like to see. Whether you agree with that or not is your right, but my warning above still stands.
-
I agree with this 100%. If you have a problem with the game, or even with Jeff, that's fine. I myself have issues with how he's seemingly rushing through production of these games for a quick buck. But shitting on him constantly here isn't going to change that, and it only will help in further discouraging others from trying to develop for the Jag. It's not like there's a huge influx of new developers clamoring to pump out titles. Any further insults or name-calling in this thread is going to get you booted from the thread.

You obviously didn't get the joke.

My understanding is that the filming was completed, but the game itself wasn't. I might be remembering wrong, though.

Tons of ram...SSD...24(!) CPU cores...you can't let us geeks hang in the wind like that. We want some specs!

Writers Wanted for Super Nintendo Book
Sauron replied to 8bitgamer's topic in Gaming Publications and Websites
It's amazing to me that people are still being fooled as the con artist known as Kizza. Seriously, do people not check out the histories of those they collaborate with?? -
The_Liard causing problems on a forum? What a shock!

Tempest 2000 Review - Best Game on the Console?
Sauron replied to Adriano Arcade's topic in Atari Jaguar
That was a good review. Thanks for sharing it. -
Guys, I'm getting really tired of having to clean up threads in this forum. Cut the shit out right now or I'm going to start booting people from this topic.
-
Just cleaned up this thread. Please do not derail another thread, guys.
-
I disagree. The thread is about untrue and misleading information being written into the Jag's entry on Le Wik. That it is almost entirely being done by a certain individual is besides the point. Anyone looking to verify outlandish claims that may be now or sometime in the future edited into the Jag's Wikipedia page can look at this thread and see that there's a history of it happening. Now, if you were to say that any of the earlier posts tying you to this certain individual should be deleted, then I'd see your point and agree. In fact, I'll go back and remove those posts now.
-
Just deleted a crapload of off-topic posts. Please do not post anything in this thread that is not directly related to the topic.

I don't think internal mods would be well supported by anyone, and purchased by few. Having RAM on the SD cart + SD storage space would be plenty enough.
-
Always nice to see you come around these parts. Why did you decide to leave Atari, if you don't mind me asking? How would you describe the difference between the work environments at both companies?
-
Please stop mentioning these. They are a no-no round these parts.

Oh wow, Bod died? I had no idea...

Ars Technica has a small write-up about this: https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2017/07/trent-reznors-cold-call-led-to-an-awesome-game-filled-nine-inch-nails-video/
