  1. You should have deleted the topic entirely, or locked it. It is not related to Atari Jaguar nor is its purpose anything more than to talk about a former AA member.

    THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION.

I am not trying to continue anything else, I'm just saying I would have deleted it entirely.

Well after I contacted Welshworrier first I would then have removed it if he was ok with that. If he wasnt ok with that I would have locked it,

Take me out of the picture for a moment, forget I am the one suggesting this. Pretend your best friend in the world or your uncle suggested it and think about it.

    Yeah. Makes sense doesn't it?

AGAIN THIS IS JUST MY OPINION AND IT IS WHAT WOULD HAVE DONE.

I AM NOT REQUESTING, ASKING OR DEMANDING THAT YOU DO SUCH A THING.

    Because I dont really care.

    Just saying

I disagree. The thread is about untrue and misleading information being written into the Jag's entry on Le Wik. That it is almost entirely being done by a certain individual is besides the point. Anyone looking to verify outlandish claims that may be now or sometime in the future edited into the Jag's Wikipedia page can look at this thread and see that there's a history of it happening.

Now, if you were to say that any of the earlier posts tying you to this certain individual should be deleted, then I'd see your point and agree. In fact, I'll go back and remove those posts now.

  2. As for /v/, I recommend you go pay a visit, it's one of the few popular free speech sites left. You can go there and post any opinion you have no matter how insidious, offensive, deranged or flawed and as long as you're not breaking the law then no one will stop you. You don't have to agree with everything that's said there, I know I don't. It's not always pretty but if you can't handle 4chan then you probably don't stand up for free speech like you think you do. Which is fine, I know on a site like AtariAge I need to stay in my lane or else, but if you think this is what free speech looks like then you don't know what you're missing.

Let's not bait the kiddos, senpai. Keep it on topic, please.

  3. Crowdfunding? So that means, not only don't they want to say what it is, they don't even have enough confidence in the idea to put their own money up front?

Ataribox can go take a hike. Seriously, this is screaming "cash grab".

That's assuming they actually have any money to put on anything. That's more likely the reason for crowdfunding it than anything else.

  4. There's absolutely no difference between NA and EU S-Video cables. The cable you got is just bad. And don't be surprised that that's the case, S-Video cables tend to be a little less "hardy" than composite cables, at least in my experience.

  5. The support for this project has been overwhelmingly positive and I want to thank everyone who has looked over the small group of people bullying me in my own thread and supported me in making my first game for the Atari Jaguar. There have been others who have made their first game and caught heat from the groups and crowds and those developers disappeared never to return to making games again for the console. (BlackOut) I like making games and despite all the negatives and people trying to make a super villain out of me I am going to continue to make games for the Jaguar. I have a lot of projects on the horizon and I intend to keep bringing new games to the system as long as I can.

I will however be more hands on in playtesting my future games as well as providing work in progress demos for folks to try out and provide feedback on bugs and elements of gameplay. If I get stumped I will continue to ask veteran developers for tips as I always have. Hopefully I won't get brushed off with comments like "go read the manual" or "just try stuff". If I ask for help please know it's because I need help. I don't like to ask for help and it is very discouraging when someone actually needs help and gets blown off so quickly. It is also important to note one thing. When I posted the original topic before it got bombed with all the hate I said that Fast Food 64 would be a simple game that I would do in 2 weeks. I was told that this was a fairytale and I would not be making any game. I spent 4 weeks on it. I added features and modes to the game that were never part of the original idea. I did everything with this game I wanted to do and more, this is why I stand by what I said about being proud of my work. I accomplished my goals and I brought a new game to the system. All of the other extra stuff seen in this thread is irrelevant and pretty sad.

I could repeat some of the behaviors seen in my thread with certain members but I am not a troll and I realize that these individuals live for this kind of stuff and I forgive them. No hard feelings guys. And really guys I just want to make games for the Jaguar. I pledge to be nice from this day going forward and I challenge everyone else to do the same! :)

Oh boy, here we go again. I'm sure you're bright enough to figure out that such a message would not go without a response, so let me do the honors before a tidal wave of flames rolls in.

First, don't try to bring up the example of Stormworks, as you don't know the whole story. They did their emoragequit by coming up with a ludicrous story about a rootkit being sent to their development system. It's got to be the most preposterous story I've heard in this community, which is saying a lot as I've heard some real whoppers. Nobody ran them off, despite whatever bullshit they or others might be feeding you about it.

Second, although the criticism directed at you has at times been overly harsh in both content and delivery, the points that they have contained have been valid. All of this should have been settled a while ago. Rushing out a game that is filled with numerous bugs and faulty gameplay mechanics is going to bring criticism. This fact should not surprise you at all.

Lastly, you didn't get brushed off every single time you asked a question. Although the other devs could have been more helpful, they did at time try providing assistance in the way of pointing to you where you needed to check in the documentation or another way to find the answer yourself. No one here is going to write your games for you. Especially when you're trying to package and sell them off as quickly as possible.

You know, there's been multiple times throughout this whole ordeal where I've been defending you and trying to get others to let up in their criticisms, both in public and in private. However, every time it has appeared that I've made some progress in that area, you come up with yet another passive-aggressive "woe is me" remark that I'm sure you know will do nothing but fan the flames again. It seems to me like you revel in attention, whether it be positive or negative. So, I can't say anything else at this point other than that you've brought all of the criticism on yourself.

And with that, I'm locking this thread. Any further threads about this will be locked as well.
