  1. Sorry, show's over. Let's get the thread back on track.
  2. You've completely missed the point. Go back and reread what I wrote earlier. Better yet, I'll just quote it here.
  3. The only thing that got triggered was you being put on mod preview. LOLWUT? I know that English isn't your native language, but sometimes I genuinely wonder if you actually understand anything that you write.
  4. The issue here isn't asking questions. The issue is you asking questions while reusing code from a tutorial and then selling it as your own game. I don't know how long you've been around game development circles, but it's generally a matter of good etiquette to not reuse someone else's code without permission in a product that you're selling. I don't remember if there was any such statement in the documentation for rB+, but generally it shouldn't matter. Everyone was happy to help you out when you were just playing around the tutorial, but the moment you started putting copies up for sale is when the good will towards your efforts started going out the window. Just in case you haven't grasped this concept yet, let me spell it out for you here. Reusing other's code in a commercial product without permission or acknowledgement is bad etiquette.
  5. I feel I need to make an apology to you. I mistook you for being someone of reasonable intelligence. Now that I see that you equate someone who wrote a demo game from scratch as having less skills than someone who is simply reusing said code to make the same game with different graphics, it's apparent I was quite wrong. The ST ports are something entirely different than what's going on here, but then someone of your intelligence level can't be expected to understand such a simple matter. Anyways, welcome to mod preview.
  6. It's a sound financial investment for those six people. Just wait a while until the full game is released, then sell them on eBay as an "ULTЯ@ Я@R3 PR0T0!!!!" Instant profit.

    Jaguar Bomberman

The Jag can really be considered a 64 bit system, but that has little meaning in regards to its overall power. Ultimately, the "bits" of a system is meaningless, especially when it comes to a gaming system. DEC had powerful 64 bit workstation processors that debuted around the time of the Jaguar, yet their overall power was easily eclipsed by cheapo 32 bit home systems just a few years later. As powerful as a DEC Alpha was, I wouldn't even bother pitting it against a Pentium IV.

    Jaguar Bomberman

Atari really shot themselves in the foot with the whole "64-bit" thing. Considering the timing of it's release, the Jag, while it really is a "64-bit" system, has nowhere near the power of a PSX or N64. Think of the Jag as a stepping stone between the Genesis/SNES era and PSX/N64 era. While it could probably do a basic 3D play area, it would probably look like ass compared to what its contemporary 32 bit systems were capable of pulling off. In short, I'm willing to bet that any version of Bomberman that was in development for the Jag back in the day was probably 2D, or pseudo-3D at best.
  9. If it's going on ebay, I'm sure the link will be made available as soon as the auction starts.
  10. Good one there! That's usually how I approach that level, but then I get either impatient or careless, and end up losing some lives on it anyway.

    Jaguar Bomberman

So they were lazy, or they just didn't get enough developer support from Atari? I'd be careful about trusting the word of any random videos you see you Youtube. How exactly do you know what the Jag is capable of? Like I said before, this is Bomberman we're talking about, not a AAA game title. Having 60fps and responsive controls in multiplayer mode is far more important for a game like Bomberman than fancy graphics. I don't think there's ever been a version of Bomberman that has wowed anyone with its graphics, and there's a reason for that. The Jag ain't the N64. If the 3D arena meant cutting down on framerate or responsiveness, then they'd be much better off sticking with 2D. Again, for a game like Bomberman, nobody cares about the graphics as much as about how well it plays.

    Jaguar Bomberman

This is Bomberman we're talking about. Even the Dreamcast version hardly pushed the hardware, so I have no idea what you're expecting the Jag version to be like.
  13. rb+ isn't quite so straight-forward as many other versions of BASIC. That has more to do with how the Jag's architecture works than anything else, which makes a straightforward version of BASIC like bB extremely difficult to do. Keep at it though, and don't forget to read the manual and tutorials extensively!

Yes, because as we all know, it's impossible to make a good game using just a 68000 processor. That's why the Amiga, Atari ST, and Genesis were all terrible systems, and we should forget that they ever existed at all.
  15. Well, to be fair, those games did all make it to the Lynx...
  16. Check your PMs and you'll see which one of us is the liar. In the meantime, no more derailing of this thread.
  17. For the record, I've enjoyed this thread immensely. Watching VladR's experiments and the talk about things that have been done in other games has been quite interesting. VladR, keep doing what you're doing. Everyone else, stop complaining about what he's doing.
  18. Maybe not (although this is debatable), but you definitely are a liar, just like your friend mr. kizza.
  19. That depends on what all is in the content file. If it's mostly raw graphics, they could probably be compressed down, or resampled to get the size down.
  20. Wow, the combined powers of a scam artist and pathological liar will create a rupture in the space-time continuum. We're f****d.
  21. VladR, how about you stop arguing with people and get to coding? Seeing some results would shut everyone up.
  22. How many "bits" a system has is meaningless. DEC fabricated 64 bit server and workstation processors more than 20 years ago, but their total power was easily eclipsed by cheapo home desktop 32 bit processors just a few years later. The total number of "bits" of a processor are really only necessary for specific things, such as the width of a data bus or being able to address large amounts of memory. The Jag is no exception to this. It came out well before the N64, and isn't nearly as powerful as a result. Disregard the "64-bit" moniker and just enjoy the Jag for what it is - a stepping stone between the Genesis/SNES and PSX/N64 eras.

One more register? Before you know it, you'll be asking for a second accumulator and a movable stack pointer as well.
