  1. I'm not sure if i can afford IS2 right now, Carl, but I really want to thank you for providing us with the means to get some of the rarer games from your site when you have them in stock. I also want to thank you for not price-gouging on those same games as other people tend to do on E-Bay. When I can again afford to finish up my collection of the "officially released" games on the Jaguar, Songbird Productions will be my first stop.
  2. ... and somehow tie that in with the Jag CD's VLM and it's a full-fledged karaoke trip-a-thon!
  3. Well, I had a little respect for the guy. Now he's burning bridges, so he'll never get any of my money again. I'll also make it a personal goal of mine to inform people about him and about his steep prices. Goodbye SS4U... you just bit the hand that feeds you and the Jag community won't put up with your shit. He must be feeling the heat of not selling much recently. I know of many people over just the last couple months who have decided not to purchase from him. How does he think we are all in this for a profit (taken from an earlier post of his.) I'm sorry, but if you want to make loads of cash, you're not going to do it with the Jaguar.
  4. i have only one scatbox and it is factory sealed and it is part of my personal collection imagine that i have a personal collection of sealed and never opened jag stuff sweetstuff4y That's nice... I play my Jag stuff. Anyone who actually is a fan of the Jaguar plays them, whether or not they have a second sealed copy for "collection" purposes. I'm not sure, but why did you just barely decide to join up at AtariAge if you're a big collector and/or fan of the Jaguar? This place has been here a while.
  5. Yeah, I didn't have any problems ordering from him at all -- the loose items and some of the "complete" auctions actually went for a decent price, so I won't ever complain about that either. It's just the overpriced ones, but as I said, if someone is dumb enough to pay that much then that's their fault. You just need to be patient and wait for it to show up. Actually, one thing I've been wondering is why SS4U doesn't just put in his maximum price he's willing to pay and leave it at that when he bids on an item. Wouldn't that be easier than incrementally bidding over and over and over again? My guess is there isn't a "maximum" he's willing to bid, because he'll just up the price if the items start costing more, but I don't know. Good luck on the auctions SS4U, because I know of many jag collectors who have been brought into the light that you don't always have the best deals on the web. However, you certainly are the one person who has the best selection of jag stuff consistently selling on EBay. That much, I'll give you.
  6. Gee, could i ask for better praise?! I am not a massive reseller, i am a simple businessman. I have no desire to "control the market". Sounds like jealousy speaking to me..... Please add me to whatever list you'd like. I am a collector, but I do not deny selling for profit, either! If you saw my personal collection of atari jaguar, you'd be even more jealous. I've never felt so popular before in my life. I appreciate all the great publicity~! Here's some good publicity... Protector SE w/ Native Demo from a certain retailer brand new for $75. SS4U for only $125. Do the math. That being said, I would never tell you or anyone else how much they should be selling something for. That is completely up to you and is your right. If people want to know where to get the best deal, you need to be patient, do some looking for stores that still sell online and watch out on EBay -- don't take the first one you see as it may be overpriced. Scope it out for a couple of months.
  7. And what fun is it when you get pretty much the entire jag collection in one swoop Then you're done collecting (except for any new games that get developed) and you lose some of the enjoyment.
  8. Same here. I get the title screen where it ways to hit the "A" button, then the screen goes black. I got the same thing. I might try burning it at slower speeds next to see if I have any more luck. My original theory was that the CD image was designed for Virtual Jag, and not to be an actual image for a real CD. (For that you'd use the Nero image). Have to try this a bit more. Same here. Has this problem ever been resolved between then and now? Today i went to the FrogFeast-website and downloaded both the BJL and the Nero-CD-Image. The BJL-file "FROG.JAG" did not work for me, neither when the Jag was set to 50Hz/PAL nor when it was set to 60Hz/NTSC, the best result i got with it was a black screen with some white stripes. But the Nero-CD-Image (extracted from JCDFrog.zip) does work for me (with my own Bypass-solution), i just double-clicked on the FROG.NRG file and let Nero 5.0 burn it with 4*speed and DiscAtOnce. I get the FrogFeast-title and after pressing Fire A i can jump around with both frogs (Joypads in port 1 and 2), nothing more. Regards Matthias Good info, Matthias. Thanks for stating the settings used in Nero... maybe I'll give it a shot now and see if it works.
  9. oh poo, i didn't even realize this thread was like 7 month old when i posted :-/ Sorry... damn CPU64 resurrected it lol.
  10. There's a company that makes their own version of the s-video cable somewhere.... I'll have to see if I can find it again...
  11. Good to see you're continuing work on Eerievale. I played the demo the other day from the Ocean Depths CD and it will be great in its full version. I look forward to 2007 and the great things that can come out of the Jag community!
  12. ER, they DID. Rebellion created an AvP a few years later for Windows and Mac, and there was an AvP2 released as well. The premise is similar, and the graphics are updated, but it's really not the same game at all. The PC version is much faster and is really just a shooter without the suspense and surprise of the Jaguar version. You can find demo versions available for download if you search on the internet. I forgot I had those... just found the boxes & CDs while cleaning my room last night. It may be time to resurrect AvP2.
  13. What the F*#@ does that say? I like my spelling better. this "l33t" talk gives me a headache
  14. This was the scariest game I had played at the time as well. Since then, I've played some scary ones, but I've never played any of them all the way through -- just AvP. I remember specifically making sure there were some lights on somewhere nearby while I was playing.
  15. yeah, i beat it all the way through with the marine & the predator without using cheats or a walkthrough back when it was brand spanking new. I never could stick with the alien campaign, though. I don't remember where anything is, though, so I may have to play it again and try out the alien.
  16. doctorclu, I've seen some talk of Tetris being problematic to burn, because of how many tracks there are. What did you use to get it onto a CD that worked the best? I haven't yet found Tetris, but will do some searching. I don't know if it comes in an image formate to burn directly to CD or if it's a BJL thing.
  17. Yeah same here. I bought b2k & wtr as well, but dunno if I'll be bidding on any of the auctions... maybe, though.
  18. Sweet! When does the ordering start, I want one! Same here. Looks like they might be close to releasing it according to their site... and it also looks like it's been a lengthy process from the beginning, hehe. 4 years? I'm not complaining, as I'm new to the community -- just making an observation. Can't wait to get it!

    AVP VS DOOM

Here's my take on the AvP vs Doom subject. The poll asks which you enjoyed (past tense) the most on the Jaguar, so my experience will be taken from the memory I have when I played both all the way through 13 or 14 years ago. I enjoyed AvP more than Doom back then. However, I played both all the way through (except for the alien campaign.) AvP took me much longer to go through, because of the tactical gameplay vs the run-n-gun of doom. To tell you the truth, I never used cheats in AvP while I was playing it to beat it. Later on when I would replay it, i would use cheats. I prefer trying it the old fashioned way first. However, I believe I only beat it with the marine & the predator -- I don't recall ever getting through to the end with the alien. With Doom, it was the same fun I remembered while playing it on the PC, but it was obviously repetitive. I still loved it, because it was Doom and continued to play it, but it was a game I had already played and beaten on the PC. Both games have their place in my Jag collection and both will get their due playtime I think I'll try to go through AvP with the alien campaign again, since I never did it back in the day. One more thought on AvP... When, a couple months ago, I fired it up for the first time in about 14 years, I had a drastically different opinion of it. I started the Marine campaign and was disgusted at the choppiness. Apparently, when I played it when it was first released, it must have been groundbreaking and my brain didn't realize that better things were to come in the gaming world. Now when I play it I have a hard time, but I'll continue to try and get used to it again now that I'm used to modern gaming on my PC. So, AvP gets my vote of what I enjoyed playing more, but these days it's not as enjoyable for me.
  20. I don't have all the jag games, but if it's a shooter from the same perspective of Raiden, then I don't believe there are any. There are, however, side-scrolling shooters like Protector and Defender... Protector being the superior one, in my opinion. I'm a little tired and can't think of any others, but I think Protector is one to get. The special edition one is the easiest to find so save up some money and go for it (if you don't already have it.)
