Ouch, sorry to hear you're selling any of your Jaguar stuff. I hope you're still keeping some of it. -
FS: NUON collection (player, games, and controllers!)
viMaster replied to Songbird's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Good luck with the sale, Carl. I would be ALL OVER the Next Tetris and possibly IS3 if you ever decide to sell them separately Let me know! -
I wouldn't worry quite yet. I'm sure there's still a lot of time until something like this goes into production. ... not starting a flame war, but just stating facts -- it's been years and years that this has been "in the works."
-
I'm not trying to start a flame war but didn't SEGA go down this road with the 32X? We all know how grate that worked out. True, walter, but this is just a homebrew project -- hobbyist. It's not really the same. They're not trying to sell to the mass-public. I say, if they want to add features, go for it. If people don't think it's worth it, that's ok, though.

I disagree, it could be possibly found, especially since the coders said they had an unreleased Jaguar game, which is this one. How and why do you assume that? because the company "Titus" was working on this game and Carlos's name is on the screenshots of the game.... he was one of the programmers and this was there only Jaguar title... I think what they're trying to say, buddies, is they only mentioned they had worked on the game for the Jaguar. They didn't ever say in the interview that they ever had stuff left over.
-
How would you go about putting a BJL game onto a playable CD? It would be great to be able to try it out myself. I love learning about the Jaguar.
-
Also, yes, if you don't want to solder, you can buy one here: http://morethangames.a8maestro.com/prodgame/advert-g2.htm

If you have made your own Cinepak discs, they won't be encrypted until you proceed with the encryption process. That's most likely your problem -- Jag Cinepak doesn't give you an "auto-encrypted" disc at all. If your "encrypted" homebrew isn't working, you may want to double check and make 100% sure that they're actually encrypted. I mean, if you're getting the ?, then they probably aren't. If a transport mech was faulty, it should do the same to retail games. If your retail games are working fine, then I would say the homebrew is not encrypted. The encryption process takes some practice, but is definitely worth it in the end.

Holy sheisse, dude. Here am I loving Hover Strike and I didn't even know there was a damn sequel! Talk about a void that needs some filling! I was under the impression that the cart and CD were pretty close to the same, save maybe some graphical enhancements and some better audio. Of course, I don't have the cart version, so I can't verify this. (I just thought I remembered hearing that it had the same storyline) The CD has 1 or more additional levels. I just can't remember if it's only 1 or more.

As far as I can tell he hasn't made it clear whether he actually wants to sell this stuff or not. Either way, I'm just thankful he's been able to share his finds with us!

Wow, can't wait for the 2nd revision of these boards. Oh snap! Good to see you, Charles

Yup, as far as what's been released so far, the Limited Edition is out of print and probably super rare. $100 may not seem fair for a simple game as this, but we're talking about collectors now. This is where the high prices will come in. If you're a completist, you'll simply have to have a limited edition cart.

It's ok, nobody's perfect Seriously, though, if you can enjoy it, all the more power to you! I can't really play it much. I did just so I could upload a vid of it to my youtube page, but that's about it. I bet it would be a little more fun with friends, though. At least we could all laugh together.
-
You'll have to do more than duck! Anyway, I only faintly remember the 2600 as I wasn't quite old enough to enjoy it. The Jaguar is my real true Atari love... and my favorite system of all time.

I don't own a shrinkwrapper, so I have no plans to shrinkwrap any Songbird titles. Currently, there are no plans to change the Frog Feast label or box graphics. Note that there are already two versions of Frog Feast CD boxes: the limited and unlimited versions. There is no difference in the CD binary itself. To my knowledge, all of the limited FF CDs are sold out. Glad to see there is interest in the cart version. I'll definitely look into it, but it will take a couple of months minimum. Carl, As you've received correspondence from John Pilkinton (Chaos89) did you know that he was the distributor for the cart version of Frog Feast originally? He has cartridge parts right now as well as packaging and everything that went into the initial release. It would be a damn shame for him to simply lose all the money he spent on acquiring those materials and the effort put into assembling the cartridges together. I believe it would completely be worthwhile to show some good faith and let him release it on cartridge to help recoup his losses, since Charles got busy and the web store never went back up. If he is up to the task, are you willing to let this happen? He could come up with the cartridges in a much shorter time period than you could -- no offense intended. I know it's a daunting task to set everything up for a cartridge run. It's just convenient that he has these materials already. Thanks for the consideration, Carl. I've enjoyed what you've done for the Jaguar so far and look forward to the future of Songbird Productions. Josh

Oh man! Had I known I would have ordered a couple sets of the AvP overlays! I know I'm missing at least one of them... I'll add them in with my next order from you
-
I remember and played Marathon... AvP rocks it.

I'm pretty sure someone used the BIN. # of Bids would be 1 if someone used Buy It Now, so it looks like he pulled the auction. You would think he would have relisted it, though, but he hasn't. He has a bunch of other rare jag games up as well. they also had similar BIN prices listed, but it appears most of them have been bid on.

I'm pretty sure someone used the BIN.

AvP is my favorite Jag game by FAR. Yeah yeah, I've been playing a lot more Battlesphere these days, but the thought of playing AvP alone in the dark still soaks my pants The game was way scary and I jumped more playing that game than any other since. It was a long and tough game, but come on, don't we want a little challenge? I sure do... except playing Call of Duty... I'd rather whoop the noobs all day long haha. I also never got through the Alien campaign, but did the Marine & Predator both without using cheats. I did, however, draw out my own maps on paper as I played. That gave it just a bit more interaction for me, too. Yep, so it's my fav Jag game... nothing else has entertained me on the Jag as much as that game. These days, yeah, the frame rate is hard to get past, but it's still just as scary, because there's no music. While playing as the marine, as soon as you get the motion tracker you literally cringe at the beeps it makes when it senses something moving in on you. As soon as I heard those sounds I would glance at the tracker to see where they were and then look around as fast as I could to see if they were coming at me or were just behind the walls lol.

I made one. There are pics somewhere on Jaguar Sector II, I believe. It didn't have a numpad, though. It was my first attempt and was just done in what is called a hobby box. The next one I do will be a custom controller specifically for Total Carnage, but it probably won't be for a while. I need to figure out the PCB and get one custom made for me.

Scatbox on Fleabay for BIN $250 and free shipping

Yeah, that's MUCH more like it. -

Yes, the ScatBox is the shit box... It's also made by 4Play/ScatoLOGIC; the term foreplay has strong sexual connotations, and scatology is an interest in obscene matters including excrement. The alternative to the ScatBox is the CatBox, and cat box is a colloquialism for a litter box... Yes, another shit box. Notice a trend yet? HAH! When I saw the name 4-Play, I never thought foreplay... that's funny... One of the ships on Battlesphere is called the Penetrator, I believe -
In 1999 I left to live in Europe for a while and learned German while I was there. While I was away apparently my little cousins had gone over to my parents' house and wanted to play some games. I believe I had an NES & my original Jaguar. Everything was sort of put away in a box, I think, so they got the Jaguar out to play it. They also apparently used an NES power adapter for it... and the rest... well, you know what happens I didn't actually find out until a few years later when I found my Jag in the back of my closet and re-lit the fires of passion for the thing.
