Ah - pity. So I was thinking I was getting something rare when I got this limited edition copy off Ebay. But basically I could have bought the AA version and still got more or less the same thing?

A good rule of thumb w/homebrew/aftermarket games is unless you're on there seeking out something you know has been OOP for a long time, check the homebrewer or publisher's website. I frequently see still in print games being sold at a premium on EBay for absolutely no reason.

There is an Analogue mode, a Lynx mode and a Lynx+ mode. Did not dig into them to compare yet.

Analogue mode appears to me to be just what you'd get on a modern LCD via an emulator. Or I suppose one of the LCD mods on original hardware. Lynx mode (without comparing side by side to a real Lynx) does a good job emulating an OG Lynx screen while Lynx+ is sharper, has better colors and contrast. A future Analogue mode w/scanlines would be nice, but as is, I think people will be happy w/what's available now.

Deluxe version got those beautiful remastered graphics, but there's also Classic Mode (maybe Atari ST version?) and Speedy Mode (with both Classic & Deluxe).

Here is link to nice article:

The polygons of Another World: Atari Jaguar (fabiensanglard.net)

Nice version, but these Ebay prices are just insane these days.

I think what Machine is saying is there aren't multiple physical versions of the Another World cart for the Jaguar. There's no "standard" vs "deluxe" edition to purchase. Just different game modes as you've pointed out.

    Hi Songbird,

When shall I be able to preorder the Piko 3 and Sunsoft 2 carts?

I like your service, you are my go to Evercade supplier!😊👍

They're both on there now. Also Piko 4 too if that's what you meant.

  5. OK I'll post the lowest score just so there's an additional prize.

Somewhat OT: Is there a way to force rotary on this game? I'm using a Jagdaptor in BigP and I can't seem to be able to play the game with a rotary, so a repro Pro controller with left direction that works about 1/3 the time is what I'm using until I dig one of my 3 buttons out.
ETA: It doesn't look like a rotary + Jagdaptor + BigP work together.

I've been reading the Jaguar subforum since 2017, plus countless threads from prior to that - whatever looked semi-interesting. In that time I've learned who knows their stuff, who's full of shit, the truths and the myths... yet I'd never make a video like this. Why? Because if I was going to speak as an authority on a certain machine with an interest in being accurate, I'd feel like that would require tinkering with the hardware, writing code for it, or otherwise getting more intimately-acquainted with it (giggity). There are some things you'll only get to learn that way.

The thing is you're looking at this with a level head, YouTubers look at "how can I get the most clicks and make the most money off any given video" so they don't give a crap about accuracy or even knowing what they're talking about.

No reaction to Evercade getting its first N64 game with Glover?

I don't really care about Evercade getting N64 games, mainly due to the controls and the reality that I can't imagine many of them would run great on the current HW and not to mention how many quality titles they can realistically license. I will say Piko 4 is a slightly more interesting cart to me than Sunsoft 2.

I hope this means other 7800 games can be re-released like Planet Smashers and Alien Brigade! It would be cool having Midnight Mutants too but the Munsters license might be out of reach right now...

There's no Munsters license to acquire AFAIK, the character is "Grampa" not "Grandpa Munster". It's just the guy who played Grandpa Munster dressed up in a similar way to the Munsters character. Dude made a life out of that character.

I missed out on this originally but for UK jag users you can pre order Switchblade II again from here: https://funstock.co.uk/products/switchblade-ii-jaguar

I just pre ordered a copy this evening, it states it is a port of the Amiga version and will ship at the end of this month, so now pretty much. Looking forward to playing this on my Atari Jaguar.

It sure looks more like the ST version to me:
