  1. That sounds promising. I run Samuri Showdown on my P200 laptop fine, but that isn't emulated so obviously it's going to run a lot faster. BTW anyone know of any good multi-emulator front ends? One that's quite configurable and can select using a joystick? How about running Linux over Windows on the machine? If I used an older Red Hat distro I should get better performance than over 98SE, right?
  2. Okay, I know this is a bit cheeky (sorry Al), but I'm building a emulator PC with a few selectable emulator and was looking for complete ROM collections (I'm unfortunately still on dial-up) for the following systems: MAME Neo Geo (would these run on PII 400 128MB?) NES Master System SNES Mega Drive Spectrum C64 PC Engine Vectrex If anyone was willing to burn me a CD-R off then I'd be willing to cover that and postage, or sort you out with something nice for trade :-) Cheers guys
  3. I'm quite suprised the PC games industry is as strong as it is, 50% of releases are Sci-Fi / War based FPSs. It's really f*cking stagnent and I hate it.
  4. Gunstar Heroes. Not fully 3D, but mixed polygon with 2D visuals.
  5. Looks like the sprites are all pre-rendered ala Donkey Kong Country, but I'm worried that the resolution on the GBA isn't going to be high enough; Mario looks very undefined...
  6. I got a job lot of Saturn import carts that allow you to play any region game on any model Saturn. $9.00 + P&P or will do trade. Looking for US DC games: Samba de Amigo Garou: Mark of The Wolves (aka Fatal Fury) KoF 98: Dreammatch Seaman or Gamecube, Saturn, 2600, NGPC etc
  7. A dictionary defination is a 'generation old', right? Cars and wine etc have to be 25 years old to be considered classic. Anyway, once the PSX comes out we'll have to start calling what we now call the PSX the PS1 or somthing?
  8. It's mostly the same, there are a few instances where the coin op MVS boards differ from the AES home units (ie: high score saves, dip settings, etc.). Plus, the carts are not readily interchangeable between the home and MVS systems. Yeah, but other than connections; the ROMs, bios and processors are exactly the same. They are essentially the same so much so that the ROMs made for the MVS are used in the AES. The MVS came first though, making the AES an arcade based machine. There are also those things that hook up PSX (BTW PSX is going to have to be changed to PS1 soon, surely?) and DC to JAMMA looms. I'm sure they're avaliable for other machines though, right? How do these count credits BTW?
  9. Quidditch World Cup Badges got these as promo for our shop. Really nice too.
  10. I would KILL for that We used to get stuff like that when I worked at Game. Got some X-box, Colin McRae 4 and FIFA t-shirts lying about if anybody wants em? I think the X-Box one says STAFF on the back though... eBay.co.uk has a DC backpack up for grabs right now, there are also writing books and more towel / swim shorts sets there too.
  11. Just ordered one of these the other day from Dreamcasthistory.com, not been invoiced for it yet though.
  12. I have a Dreamcast towel and swimming shorts set that comes in a nice little matching bag and Medal of Honour ammo tin.
  13. The only thing that I'd be worried about it would be that you'd get a small amount of residue on the circuit board. With all the consoles now adays have such small runs between them you may experience a bit of shortage across stuff. Mostly this won't effect any of the chips themselves (because it'll only be a small current across it), you may experence a shorter battery life. This happened once when I spilt beer in my walkman.
  14. Combining movie and games in a way people aren't even thinking about yet? Hmm... reminds me of Sega CD...
  15. You like this game? I'm sure the second time you play it you'll hate it! Have you had to jump up the stairs yet? Or been on that irritating circular platform? Anyways, it gets a bit of 4 player action once in a while, but that's about it really to be honest. Single player it's awful. Have you got Ooga Booga yet? I got this through the post today (didn't come out over here, so hadn't played it yet) and I have to say that it's superb! I think you'd probably like the PAL exclusive Toy Racer that was released for charity. I could source one out for you and we could do a trade if you'd like?
  16. If you're up for it mate my email is [email protected] Could go this weekend if I've sorted out a house by then!
  17. Tell you what mate, don't know what part of the 'Londish' area you are, but if you're my side we may get a few of us to go to the Meusem Of Computings' Videogames exhibition in Swindon. Looks like it could be a good laugh, and on Saturdays you can play!
  18. But will I need a link up to transfer games over? I think my girlfriend might be giving me here old iPod anyways, but I'd still like one.
  19. So I could use a PC to do this (and it does what?), and then just use my Mac from then on in with a card reader? It think there's a UK company that has the system all set up for you. Maybe I should contact them... BTW Mayhem I just been reading your site and relised you used to write for Keiths' Retro Gamer fanzine. Are you on CCNUK?
  20. Noticed someone is having trouble with their GP32, which got me thinking to ask a question that I have... I want one as an MP3 player (instead of an iPod), but I want to hook it up to my iMac. I know that there's a Mac -> GP32 link programme avaliable, but it doesn't yet support Panther (which I run), so can I just use a card reader to transfer files to and from it? And how good is the MP3 play back? And (last question) are any of the emulators working fully yet?
  21. Not really. You how when you format your VMU you get to pick a picture? Well this game changes what ever one you choose to a teddy as soon as you save. The only way to get shot of it is to format it. I think this is pretty damn awful personaly... Anyone ever noticed that you can choose a Cannabis leaf for your VMU? I like the monkey personally.
  22. BTW once you play this game the VMU logo is impossible to remove without formatting your VMU and losing all your data. One reason why I'm not too keen on this game. Oh, one game that always splits people is the Nomad Soul. Love it or hate it? I personaly think it's one redeaming feature is the man, the legend, David Bowie, but otherwise sucks.
  23. It was sent out free in the UK to DC owners due to the wait on the servers at the time. Nice bonus... thank you Sega Europe. It was slow on-line, but none the less it still worked and was a great little game even though the amount of people playing wasn't brilliant. Multi-player on it is good, but single is great none the less.
