  1. Nope, nothing special. It didn't get a UK release, so I'd like one which I'll replace the internal power supply in and chip so as it'll play all my imports(rather than swapping discs). Just something a little different for my collection. They aren't that rare in the US as far as I know...
  2. I'm after the US only special edition black Sega Sports Dreamcast, desperately. If anyone has one for trade or sell then could you please contact me via PM, email or by replying to this post.
  3. Unlocking is the staple of modern arcade ports and CVS is hardcore for the hardcore. If it wasn't for the extra characters then what else would there be?
  4. I don't mean to jump in here, but I have a supply of green X-Box, PAL PSX, PAL Dreamcast and Platnuim PS2 case, but I'd only trade for them.
  5. I thought you were talking about demo discs? Promos are production games in different cases and with different lables. Demos do often vary to the released game, but most of the time demos are ignored (rather unfairly) by collectors. I think that some demos may rise in value, especially ones that vary from the released game, or for games that never got a release. Was there a Dreamcast Half Life demo?
  6. I do, sort of. I have a UEFA Striker for Dreamcast that has debug stuff in the menu, but I know people that have stacks of the things. Don't get Protos and Promos mixed up, promo discs are full games used as give aways to people that are the same as released versions, but protos are obviously unreleased stuff that are works-in-production. I have an Auto Modelsta and a MX Riders promo for the PS2, but they are generaly worth less than the production game. The best way to get hold of a beta (that was actually used in production and is not a leaked version that has been pirated i.e. a 'white lable') is to be In The Know with a developer. Betas can also be found through magazine reviewers but usualy with printed 'Beta Only. Not For Resale' lables and are in late stages of dev. Promos are normaly given away to shop managers, who then generaly pass them on to their staff or keep them. This is how I got mine. Promos are ten-a-penny. Gamecube and X-Box don't print promos, and I have never seen a Beta for them or the PS2. I couldn't say for other CD based machines, although I expect the that most earlier stuff didn't print them either, it's mainly a Dreamcast, PSX and PS2 thing. There are masses of DC promos that were given away...
  7. Flight Game: Ace Combat Sniper Game: Silent Scope Mech / Space Game: Armored Core 2 (Mech) or Jedi Starfighters (Space) Strategy War Game: Dynasty Warriors Tactics
  8. 'You can turn your back on a person, but never turn you back on a drug!' - Hunter S. Thompson This is quite simply the most tripped out, whacked up, super strange acid flashback of a game. Ever. I really like quirky games, but this, in all honesty, is crap. It looks good, is sure as hell strange, but is very very slow and boring as a game, unfortunately. Which basicly sums up everything (except Ikargua) which Treasure have done in the last 5 years, Bangi-O included. Again (like Bangi-O) this could have been brilliant if it wasn't for the poor execution. Who else has played this game? and what did you think?
  9. Basically, I have a contact in the US who hooks me up with US Dreamcast and 2600 stuff in return for UK Master System and Game Gear games (which I am able to find much easier than himself). Basically, the way it works is that he sends me a list once in a while with a list of games he's on the look out for, and I do the same, then once we have a few items from the list we send them off. Easy as pie. It works really well and I'd like to maybe get something similare going with a few more people in the US, Europe or even the UK. I am able to get hold of Mega Drive (Genesis), Master System and Game Gear stuff easily, aswell as any current stuff (I work in a videogame store) and I would like in return 2600, Jaguar, Saturn, Neo Geo Pocket or Dreamcast. There are also a few PSX games I'm after right now. If you think maybe an on-going trade could be mucialy benficial then please contact me... BTW see my 'Clearing Out My Trade Box' post for what I currently have on offer.
  10. Not through RF? How does that make a difference? Interestingly enough there was a big thread on Atarinvader.com recently about the subject of PAL compatabilty. BTW Edit_5 could you please name names? I'm actually dealing with a guy right now who I know supplies NTSC games on eBay (one of the biggest Atari sellers on eBay.co.uk) for a biggish trade with rare items, I like to be as careful as possible.
  11. 12. I've just gotten an hour in to Ico and I can say that it is simply stunning and deserves to sell a lot better than it did. A guy returned it at work today stating it wasn't his sort of thing. Shame. It seems so far to be pretty fast moving and easy(ish), which is a refreshing change from long-winded RPGs, plus it is so much more logical than Zelda or something. 'Well done Sony', is all I can say. BTW I have the limited edition cardboard set with art cards which is very very nice, makes it so much more worth owning than the standard plasticy case.
  13. ... the PS2. Not really a replacement, but my newest console yet. Picked it up real cheap using a perfectly legal retail scam and I'm very very happy with! I got ICO and Capcom Vs. SNK 2 on it, aswell as an Auto Modelista promo I already had and I'm really loving it (but not the price of the memory card Bad Sony, bad!). I don't want this to turn in to a 'X modern console is great and I'm not a fanboy, honest!' kind of thread, but this, for me, seems to be the best console out there right now. Although the X-Box and GameCube has great software, neither seem to have the developers behind them like the PS2 does, especialy obscure quirky Jap developers like Treasure (despit Ikargua on GC). My current want list is: Rez, Freak Out, Activision Anthology, Metal Slug 3 (looks unlikely for UK release), Guilty Gear X 2, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, Silpheed and Gradius. Any of those duffs?
  14. So... is it fast? The problem that I find is that most older fighters are slow by todays comparison.
  15. I noticed that a recent article in a magazine stated that the Pro Controller was designed especially for fighters, being a big fan of the genre I wondered if there were any decent fighters for the system. I know of Kazumi Ninja, but is this any good? and what else is there?
  16. Well actually got a date in todays Marketing Update as Friday 28th... Who wants one at discount?
  17. Definetly no UK release on this one I'm affraid, nor does it look like there will be as we haven't had a date in GAME yet, I'll double check the release schedule tomorrow... We've just gotten GBA Atari Aniversary though and it is bloody good. BTW did the US version have the 'Atari Trivia Quiz' on it?
  18. Yeah, if you were looking to sell them then maybe you'd get £30-35 as a job lot on eBay.co.uk, like Osmeriod says, nothing too rare, but a few desirables amongst the lot (like Zaxxon and Jr. Pac-Man, which generaly sell well).
  19. The closest thing I have to a complete 2600 collection is the Parker Bros. releases, which in all honesty is pretty easy to achieve expect maybe Q*Berts Qubes and Mr Do!'s Castle (which I'm missing), so is nothing really to boast about. If you're in for the all-out-collecting sort of thing then maybe picking out one company at a time is a pretty cool way to do it. I generaly go for the weird and wonderful carts (Mystique being my favorite) because the commons find you. Interestingly enough did anybody else see this auction?
  20. I have a PAL sealed Troy Aikman Football and (can get) SCART leads. Contact me.
  21. I was sort of thinking if there were any true alternatives to the assembler SGCC (I'm having trouble getting the thing to output binary files from source - it's not too user-friendly or well documented)? or if there were any references to the functions in the Genesis.h libary?
  22. If you have one then please contact me to work out some kind of trade. Many thanks
  23. I was wondering if anyone can recomend a good set of tools (assembler / compiler ) as well as a good set of resources on writing Genesis progs in C? Or at least point me the direction of somewhere I could get my questions answered?
  24. Okay, I don't think you are going to get the last few, so here are the answers: 1) Arcade players 6) He was stung by a Bee 7) Shenuhe
