  1. There's a Retro store near me called 'RePsycho' and they're a bit like that, extremely over priced. Always worth picking through because they rarely know whats worth what. Picked up a few raritys in the past.
  2. Dragster is evil with a joystick on my emu. I usualy hold the stick and smack the bottom to change gears, which I don't think does it too much good. As for Stampede, if I don't play it on StellaX, I've got to cycle through my copy of 32 in 1 and I use a Master System control pad, which I find is the most responsive.
  3. BlockBuster? as in the video store?

  5. I see a lot of Jr.'s aswell. What part of the UK you from?
  6. Shut up Chris! I'm selfish and arrogant and StanJr's a fool.
  7. Don't worry Stan, I'm gonna kick your ass all the way from Stampede to Pressure Cooker, 'round to Spider Fighter and back to Dragster.. Jus' give me a few weeks to finish my final college exams!
  8. I would say that a lot of Atari stuff has now ended up in the hands of collectors, been chucked out or completely forgoten, which is why everything is so 'dry'. The distribution is changing. Wanted ads are a brilliant soure for me, and is definetly better than the wild. It was how I started my collection (3 X 6 Switchers and about 10 games). I had a phone call from a guy the other day who had 95 games and 4 systems, but he had seen an article about their prices on eBay and wanted far far too much. I'm finding a hell of a lot of Master System and Mega Drive games in the wild, about 30 per day, so thats gonna be the future of my collecting. They maybe be abundant now, but not forever, as was the way with Atari.
  9. Your sorry ass just never had no competition. Osmeriod? ha! JayBird? No way! I don't mean to pick on anyone... You're all equally losers in my book. I hadn't even ever played Dragster till yesterday, and look at my time 5.97. The only reason why Stan don't like it is because its a mans sport. Dish out as much fighting talk as you like, I'll see you on the scoreboards (looking down)...
  10. That top spot is mine by the end of the week! I've just landed myself a 5.97 beating Stan with ease and equaling Jaybird and Osmeriod. And you Spider Fighter fools best watch yo'selfs! huhuhuhu
  11. What joystick do you use for your 2600? I'm personaly a huge fan of my Cheeta 125+, the control is as cool as its name and its very responsive (although some buttons can be dodgy). What other 'sticks should I keep an eye out for?
  12. I'm surprised Stan hasn't been here and changing everyones choices (see Atarinvader.com's 50 2600 games revised) 10)BattleZone 9)Congo Bongo (it's crap, but its got monkeys) 8)Star Wars (they're all good) 7)Spider Fighter 6)Pitfall! 5)Adventure 4)Dragster 3)Jr. PacMan 2)Moon Patrol 1)BMX Airmasters ROOM34: If you ever fancy it Atarinvader.com is always on the look out for staff, especialy on the technical side but also writers.
  13. Excellent advice. Don't forget wanted ads. 20% of my collection comes from wanted ads.
  14. Yeah, its nice to see a game where your in a space ships and you've gotta shoot aliens.
  15. Started playing PacMan Jr. yesterday afternoon, very addictive! I've also been playing a hell of a lot of Dragster (I gotta 6.17) and Spider Fighter aswell because of the Activision Quest.

  17. I wouldn't pay much for it. On my average day of hunting I see atleast one and probably 50 tape games. Disk drives such as the 1541 aren't so easy to come by (I've seen one so far this year), similare with the Action Replays. Game carts and disk games are almost immpossible to find. I had 3 as a kid (learnt BASIC on them) and I can't think of one game that is worth the load time. If I were you I'd avoid the nasty thing and get a rubber key Speccy, thats if you want that sort of thing.
  18. quote: Originally posted by ARCZero: The NES works great which I guess is a find in itself. Every time I see one in the wild I always ask the seller "does it work?", they always reply "Sure it does." then I ask "hmmmm...so it doesn't blink on and off?" and look them straight in the eye. At that point they start looking uncomfortable and start dropping prices. Try it next time.
  19. They planned a version for Casinos, so I'm assuming that these machines gave out some cash? I expect they all got broken up for spares...
  20. The summer has finaly hit over here and I've the best 2 days 'car boot' hunting in my life. I picked up over 30 Sega Mega Drive (Genesis) and Master Sytem games, including Sonic 3 and two Sega 3D Scope games. woohoo. Still nothing Atari though for the whole of last year I only found 2 VCS games, Ms PacMan and DonkeyKong, 1 lose Jag' with no leads and a heap of ST crap. I found a lose Jr a few weeks back, but someone had nicked the only game the seller had, probably 32-in-1 (the pack-in for UK Jr's)
  21. Is it the one that used to be mine? DD in a soft case with a white label?
  22. Skatepunk are you intent to get in on all my trades? I had one with about 50 games that I was offering to anyone that want to pay the postage on it, I ended up chucking it.
  23. quote: Originally posted by MattyXB: PS: I would buy Barbie too for Atari, if this where release (if the price is cheap), but only to collect, not for play. I was told that SkatePunk plays this game while wearing a pink dress, he swears it makes the game more enjoyable. Each to their own I suppose.
