Ouch... DC outsells Xbox in Japan
Atarinvader replied to Lost Monkey's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Fair play is what I say. MS don't go into a market place to lose, they'll plough as much money into this as they need and WILL come out smelling of roses. -
The reason why your getting that page is because we've just changed our host Which means we can now use PHP / MySQL aswell as CGI, Perl and other such goodies. I was thinking of putting up a t-shirt with a slogan saying 'stop me! I will buy your old videogames.'...AA thats my slogan entry [ 04-18-2002: Message edited by: atarinvader ]

Hey Matt, nice to see some Atari love coming from the UK. It looks like I got a monopoly on 2600 article writers How about if Atarinvader ran a 2600 section for the MyAtari magazine? We run our own monthly newsletter, but I would say that its a bit less conservative than MyAtari. If your interested or want to throw a few ideas about then contact me.

I've got a selection of Star Wars t-shirts, new in sealed bags for sale or trade for 2600 carts. I also have 3 promotionial 'stand ups' for Episode I, they're the kinda of foldable promotionial iteams that you get in video shops and cinemas. These are supposed to be suspended from the celling and are quite large! Inside the pack is 1*Pod Racer (Anakins), 1*Federation Fighter and 1*Nabu Fighter. This is one set of cool promotionial iteams, and I could imagine would be quite difficult to get hold of. Again, for sell or trade. If your interested in seeing pictures or better explainations then contact me on [email protected]

Nasty! I bet you'll be getting up earlier to go hunting from now on.

I came in to this post expecting pictures or maybe a link. When (or if) I get married I know that special someone has gotta be all about the Atari.
-
I thought these things were mainly for developement purposes? or was it common for people to have them to copy games? Seems like a strange thing for someone to have at home when they don't know much about it...

Save it for 'Ask Joe' then

Remeber PSU normaly get a little hot and if there was a short then you'd probably just blow the fuse in the PSU. Just check the obvious: RF leads, TV tuning, PSU is giving you 9V, getting power to both boards and everything is connected together properly (the two boards). If you check all that, and you still get nothing, then there is probably very little you can do.

BMX Airmasters Sorry to Stan if this isn't his. Maybe he could re-write my post?

I put an ad in my local paper asking for 2600 / 7800 stuff. I got two replys. The first guy sent me a text message saying: "Ive got 4 ATARI'S, x1 7800, x1 2600, x2 older style wooden, one boxed, 95 games maney boxed" I'm thinking shit! So I phone the guy up, hes obviously a bit stupid, and ask him how much he wants. "I dunno make me a offer..." I hate this kinda situation. "Ummm...how about 50 quid?" "No way!" He then goes on to inform me that they are worth 300 GBP each "on the internet like, innit", it then kinda degenrates down to a subtle arguement. I make my excuses and end the call. Thanks eBay. 2nd guy. This guys got a 6 switcher with no PSU and about 5 common games, he wants 5 GBP. Okay, fair enough. He even offers to deliver it. We get talking, and he tells me that he "earns 500 pounds a week selling Nitendo games to little kids on...eBay". I'm sorry for calling you guys moaners.

If you track down an address, me and Stan will pay him a visit. Scum. Al / Al can you delete the above two posts, it wont let me... [ 04-10-2002: Message edited by: atarinvader ]

The conections should look like this: | 7805 | -------- [] [] [] Looking at the from the top circuit, the left is 9V in, center is ground and and the right is 5V out. I'd check it with a meter to make sure your getting that 5V before you go replacing. [ 04-10-2002: Message edited by: atarinvader ]

Good point. It has been known that people sell 'fake' carts on eBay... It could be Randy or Junie
-
Joe, looks like you've got one for the article This sounds like what happens when the voltage drops when running a 2600 on a 9V battery. I would also suggest that the problem lies with your power supply. Maybe not delivering enough voltage? and that the modulator starts putting out a weak signal? The supply has to be 9V 500mA

Yeah, I'm looking at using PHP at Atarinvader because creating and editing so many HTML pages is getting to become a bit of a task. I didn't know if to create something from scratch with UltraDev or set up and modify PHP Nuke. I'm new to all this stuff, although I have worked in CGI before, so I thought UltraDev would be a good idea as I'm already using Dreamweaver. Can I just download a 'upgrade' from Dreamweaver to UltraDev? and how 'user friendly' is it? i.e. are there lots of tutiorials? Can it be used to completely develope a PHP (with Impakt) and MySQL site? Sorry for all the questions

Albert / Alex, Whats this program like to use? and would you recomend it? Also, have you had any experience developing with Cold Fusion?
-
Easy on the old boy, I bet he speaks better English than you do Czech. You can find ROM downloads here under the '2600' section, or you can get them here. There are places where you can download 'packs' of ROMs, but I can't rember where.
-
What, if any, 2600 ROMs have been released copywrite free? i.e. that can be distributed, legaly, via the internet.

I'M GOING!, I'M REALLY GOING!!!
